I think problem is we do not use the wisdome we have and need others to awake us.
well the problem is to listen and break out of your mold. I guess 99% of humans do not act when they hear wisdome. I never do, I wish I had a better brain that will build me a better life. All I do is know a lot but never act.
I love when Nikki says "champ" back to James. It's subtle yet powerful, the moment where he let's his guard down and embraces the greatness of his rival for the first time. Awesome
“A wise man gets more from his enemies than a fool from his friends…” “And what’s the point of having a million cups and medals and planes if you don’t have any fun? Now how is that winning?” Two important lessons this movie taught me 🙏
Bro is mad talented, good looking, charming and charismatic as hell and he lives a life of fun without giving a fuck about anything or anyone. Is there a single human being who didn't envy James Hunt?
This movie capture the essence of Formula One. Why the drivers do it, and why us fans love it. It captured the pure passion of competition we all share in the sport. As much as it's a tribute to these two drivers it is equally a tribute to all those who have lived and died behind the wheel in the pinnacle of motor sport.
@@fetusofetuso2122 In this very movie Lauda himself explains how F1 is just a job to him and he does it because he's good at it. He literally gives up the title in Japan because he doesn't want to take unnecessary risks, as it's not worth it. That whole "pure passion of competition" argument is BS now and in the past. Also it's quite hilarious to complain about money in F1 as Lauda literally bought his first seat in the sport (showed in the movie as well).
This scene hits hard when i watched first, but now knowing that both have passed away, hits even harder because now is full blown tribute and an eternal memorabilia of two remarkable man that are so different but so a like, this hole film is a masterpiece for racing fans and even those who doesn't enjoy racing can watch this movie and enjoy his story. R.I.P for these legends, gone but never forgotten.
That moment when the Ferrari 312T and the McLaren M23 drove side by side at the very end.... sent absolute goosebumps down by spine. An amazing movie... definitely deserves more credit
It's soo stupid that he didn't even get a nomination from the oscars in his role in this movie, in my opinion he should've won an oscar just for this scene .. Another snubbed poor actor by the oscars
Daniel Bruhl's portrayal of Lauda is nothing short of phenomenal. His accent, way of talking, overbite, expressions, mannerisms, attitude, everything is so spot on. Also the words they exchange before the speech here in the hangar are great too. Actually respecting and listening to each other despite being two very different sorts of people coming to a subject with very different dispositions, and both gaining something from it. I think we need more of that in today's world.
The beauty of this entire scene is that the historical footage of the real-life racers tells the story better than the fictional narrative. Watch 1:24 (Hunt ) vs. 1:40 (Lauda) and appreciate the difference in how they viewed the importance of that moment. Such a great way to show how Lauda considered victory the true "enemy" because it exposed him to the loss of the equilibrium of his ambition, while Hunt welcomed victory as the ultimate goal--a triumph that he did not care to walk away from because it had given him all he ever wanted. I've never seen a movie so wonderfully contrast real-life people.

Go back and watch any Niki Lauda interview from the '70s and '80s, and you can't tell a difference between him and Bruehl's acting here. God damn, he did an amazing job replicating Lauda's intricacies.
The friendship and respect they have for each other behind the track is unparalleled. Nikki and James are a perfect example of two champions who competed and respected each other.
Both great little speeches. The first speech about staying hungry and achieving greatness, in part, because of your opponent. The second speech about enjoying life and having fun after winning, otherwise; what's the point of winning if one does not relish their success? Both messages are on-point!!!
You guys are right this movie deserves an Oscar, whole movie is great but part that begins on 1:20 still gives me chills every time i watch it. This scene is AMAZING.
The reason Rush didn't win Oscars was the hype was for Dallas Buyers Club and 12 Years a Slave so if it was released this year it probably would have been nominated and won in the major categories because it was that good, it's Ron Howard's Gatsby.
GOFLuvr well that movie featured an american driver while Rush did not, and the US is much less interested in f1 now than in the 1960s and 70s, if you ask i guess nobody even knows the movie Rush in the US(i admit i exaggerated a bit) and the US did not even have a f1 circuit for the last few decades until recently i guess the cultural gap is too big
I swear I've seen this movie like 3 or 4 times now and every time I see this scene it gets to me. Even I'll admit I teared up at most scenes in this movie and I am beyond pissed that Daniel bruhl didn't get nominated for jackshit for what was easily one of the best performances I've seen in 2013. I cannot wait to buy and own this movie very very soon.
Senna learned this as well towards the end. When he pulled Prost up to the 1st place podium in 93, he acknowledged that he wouldn't have been as good as he is without Prost pushing him, and Prost found that out later too. Niki just knew from the get go, cause he was a genius lol.
I loved this movie and this scene was one of the best ending scenes I've seen in a long time. Also, the music by Hans Zimmer makes the scene even better. My favorite movie of 2013.
This movie is terribly underrated. Even if you don't follow F1, you should watch this. Great acting, and a great quote to end it "A wise man gets more from his enemies than a fool from his friends"
2:33 min of a movie ... enough to make feel a punch in your soul... such a powerfull lines...such a amazing movie..and amazing soundtrack... RIP James RIP Nicki
Still one of the best endings I have witnessed.........................................Looking back over time gives you a whole new perspective. "A wise man gets more from his enemies than a fool from his friends" - Still the best advice I've ever been given in life.
As brilliant as I consider Ron Howard displays in his movies. He comes along with something like 'Rush'. And I almost forget how underrated Ron Howard really is...
One of the greatest cinema I have ever watched. I myself race almost everyday, and every emotion these characters have struck a chord in me that I can relate to. Amazing!
Awesome movie and yes, James may have been a party animal, but still he didn't give a shit. That's what I love about this character. He was always himself regardless of what people say or think about him and I think that's badass. R.I.P. James Simon Wallis Hunt
Those days each race might be your last. I recall seeing drivers burn to death live on TV. The champagne never stopped flowing. Now a driver has a 51g crash and demands the champagne is kept on ice until his mandatory check is done..after walking from his car unscathed.
Two absolute superstars of the sport. Loved watching Niki race and hearing James calling a race…..too young to remember him driving. Sad we don’t have drivers like this now…..or maybe we do and with the exception of Kimi, they can’t be themselves.
This movie was amazing. I total mans movie. The music, the setting, everything was perfect. The rivalry between these two was epic and will never be repeated in our time. Needless to say if you have ever driven a Ferrari, you would understand why they were the way they were.
Both had very different views in life. Their views compared and contrasted with each other. In the end, their views on life were extraordinarily good in meaning. James was to live life in the moment because you never know when it will end while Niki's was to make life more about than rushing through to live in the moment. Their rivalry was truly one of its own and both are still legends to this very day.
This movie has been my favourite movie since it came out and still is. I think the reason it is so good is that the movie doesn't persuade you to pick a driver. It's up to you. That final race you are either wanting James to finish out of the top 3 or in it. My first time watching this movie I supported James, but after watching it 5+ times, I still find myself on edge even though I know the final outcome. I watched it again today and found myself wanting James to not succeed. It truly is an amazing movie
Every time I see this scene my skin chills. This is when people LIVE as a legend. One man die, one man live. Onw man burn the fuel with 1000 C and doesn't care about others, one man bounds by loyalty. Which life is better? Both are good enough. It is the choice which way to live a life... They where both proud and jealous at the same time. It fueled their life. Respect Niki and James.
I think both ended up sinking down low because their prides failed them. Sure, they were champions but realizing that there is more to life than just being number 1. Yes, people can share compassion and not get too stuck on being a legalist but...then, again, there is nothing wrong standing on your grounds and not willing to devour yourself in festivities that only gets you no where. If Nick Landa has a balance of both, only just being with his wife...he would have been fine. If Hemsworth's character only had a woman in his life and devoted his life to her...he could still be having a blast but with a woman on his side, instead of wasting his life with many. ...I think this movie has shown me a lot on how I should live. In my view, they both had reasons but you see why they both, well, didn't do so well at the end of their lives. This ending just speaks for itself.
i always thought that was a wonderful end to the film, a film about one of the greatest rivalries in motorsport history, perhaps any sport. From an age where is was about the drivers skill as much as the machine under him. When you didn't have 23 people to change your tyres in 3 seconds and when you had to change year using a lever not a computer. A time when these drivers were gods of speed and bravery. Men to be admired and looked up to. Not these boys giving weak excuses and towing the corporate BS lines they are told to at present. no manufactured drama. Real danger and real racing. I miss it and this film tells that story with quite a lot of the real events (according to Niki). Then at the end this wonderful piece from niki as a tribute to a great but flawed man that loved the fun of life more than winning cups and races. Speaks volumes and always brings a lump to my throat to watch this clip.
I didn't find it sad at all, just motivating. This was a celebration of the lives of two men who were different in almost every way but driven by a same desire. You are free to decide how much you want to risk for your dreams, just don't regret it and you'll be fine.
Zenzi Sage, sure i agree to this, is not sad, they both enjoyed life in different ways, i don't think it was sad at all it just reflects what the same thing can be totally different for each person. Totally different points of view.
Of course he didn't listen to me. For James, one world title was enough. He had proved what he needed to prove. To himself and anyone who doubted him. And two years later, he retired. When I saw him next in London, seven years later, me as a champion again, him as broadcaster, he was barefoot on a bicycle with a flat tire, still living each day like his last. When I heard he died age 45 of a heart attack, I wasn't surprised. I was just sad. People always think of us as rivals but he was among the very few I liked and even fewer that I respected. He remains the only person I envied.
Its The best Movie Endings i've ever seen. And it is the Truth. Niki Lauda is a Legend. Maybe he is sometimes really tough and direct BUT to loose a Friend and Sportsman like James Hunt,Ronnie Petterson or Jochen Rindt is a hard Hit in your Soul. Its The Best Movie about Racing ever. I am One of The greatest Fans from The Formula 1 as Niki was a active Driver. All That Driver was like Knights and Gentlemans in One Person. I am from Germany and my English is some Rusty but i Hope You can understand it. Thanks for Upload this Epic Scene is in this Brillant Movie.
I have watched this movie today in school. It’s the greatest movie about formula 1 disasters in history. And the end, just like in „Titanic“, in MY opinion, could not be made better.
I was 11 in '76. This was sporting immortality. That never say die fearlessness, Hamilton and Russell have it! Senna and Mansell had it..The torch gets passed on.
The end of this film is pure poetry, pure magic, my eyes always get wet and my whole body gets goosebumps, thank you Chris Hemsworth, Daniel Brühl, Ron Howard, James Hunt and Niki Lauda: through you Formula 1 has been immortalized in the most fascinating and exciting way possible.
Last scene is enough to make a grown man cry. RIP Hunt. RIP Nikki Lauda, thank you for all your contributions to this wonderful spectacle of a sport that I have a passion for :)
The essential philosophical difference between Hunt and Lauda, and perhaps the reason Lauda was a multiple champion, whereas Hunt won the single championship.
Rush 2: Lewis: "For Nico, one world title was enough. He had proved what he needed to prove. To himself, and anyone who doubted him. And 5 days later he retired. When I saw him in Monaco, me as a champion again, he was with his family. Still living each day like his last. When I heard he fell off his electric motorcycle, I wasn't surprised. I was just sad. People always think of us as rivals. But he was among the very few that I liked. And even fewer that I respected. He remains the only person I envied."
This tells never underestimate your competition. Hunt and Lauda were poles apart in mentality and how they went about things. But they respected the threat when it existed. And that’s what the most important thing is. Beautiful.
Great movie!!! I'll always have respect for Howard, Bruhl and Hemsworth for making this stunning movie. It's to car racing what "Seabiscuit" was to horse racing. Brings the heart of the sport to center stage.
The thing James and most people don't understand about Niki is it was the challenges and obstacles that he overcame to win each championship that gives him enjoyment. The true 🐐 or greats of a sport are usually like that it's what drives them and makes them who they are. There are countless stories of athletes like MJ, kobe, or even Jerry Rice constantly working right after winning and teammates or people telling to enjoy it more. They just don't realize that is their enjoyment the work and journey toward more and proving to people they can and will keep doing it.
"A wise man gets more from his enemies than a fool from his friends" Best quote and lesson i had in life.
So true!

😭😭
My favorite speech to this day
Hans Zimmer took this Movie to the next level 🙏🏻
Ron Howard is a fucking genius! Especially that ending...Damn! Classic Film Making.
One of my all time favourites. Music, writing, screenplay, and acting; everything is just sheer brilliance.
Chris hemsworth did a great job portraying hunt
Truly moving speech and a fabulous movie.
manly film seriously one epic film!
Super heros...from a time of honour
They really nailed their differing personalities, an amazing film with great performances. Hated the title though.
why do I cry every time I watch this?
Probably because you haven't experienced hardship. I mean proper hardship. 😳
Damn music. It takes you. What a marvel.
It is by far one of the best movies and two of the best drivers balancing passion and live, thus passion of life
I was 11 in '76. This was sporting immortality. That never say die fearlessness, Hamilton and Russell have it! Senna and Mansell had it..The torch gets passed on.
The end of this film is pure poetry, pure magic, my eyes always get wet and my whole body gets goosebumps, thank you Chris Hemsworth, Daniel Brühl, Ron Howard, James Hunt and Niki Lauda: through you Formula 1 has been immortalized in the most fascinating and exciting way possible.
one of the best endings in a movie, ever. chills
RIP James and Nikki. Two great gentlemen of F1.
I love this movie!
i saw this movie about 5 times now and still need nearly to cry at the end...what an awesome movie espacially the last scene...!!!
RIP Champ. I hope you and James are reunited and locked together once more in deadly yet respectful rivalry.
Last scene is enough to make a grown man cry. RIP Hunt. RIP Nikki Lauda, thank you for all your contributions to this wonderful spectacle of a sport that I have a passion for :)
I watched this movie in 4DX, it was the best cinematic experience I ever had
Epic movie, one of the best I've ever seen! They did an amazing job on this movie..
I listen to this before my gym sessions, so inspiring!!! A wise man learns more from his enemies than a fool from his friends...." class...
The essential philosophical difference between Hunt and Lauda, and perhaps the reason Lauda was a multiple champion, whereas Hunt won the single championship.
that's a true friendship
Great film. And that soundtrack hits hard.
outstanding film. the only one of its kind........there simply won't be a second coming. Thank you for this upload.
Rush 2:
Lewis: "For Nico, one world title was enough. He remains the only person I envied."
everything about this movie is perfect. ending was one of the best i seen
Daniel Bruhl and Chris Hemsworth were awesome in this movie and I love that Hans Zimmer score in the background!!!
This tells never underestimate your competition. Hunt and Lauda were poles apart in mentality and how they went about things. But they respected the threat when it existed. And that’s what the most important thing is. Beautiful.
James lived life.
One of the best of the best movie ending I have ever seen. So dramatic and full of emotions.
this scene gives me the goosebumps! id like to imagine they are both up in heaven doing what they loved the most, racing eachother!
