In all honesty I'm still with Cube World because it's everything I wanted an RPG to be. I get so invested in the world, even though there's literally no story in it. It was never about me doing other peoples jobs, it was me choosing to progress my character, choosing to go to that dungeon. it was me. Even games like the Witcher 3 don't drag me in as much as Cube World. I've seen basically everything in the game, but every time I start a new character, it feels just as new as when I bought the game. Every time I come back to the game it's never for just a day, I always play for a good month at least. So even if the update doesn't come out until 5 years from now, I'll still be having fun with this game. That's the beauty of it.

Pepe Amstrong BS Twitter updates don't mean anything. I was there 4-5 years ago when updates were promised by him as being literally "just a few days" away and then four years of silence.

He's only ONE guy (well programmer, his wife is an artist but that's all), and he does the game in spare time, also he's been working on a BIG update, and the stuff he shows looks promising.

The developer is just one guy. He still releases updates once in awhile and the game will eventually come out.
He made his last tweet in July and hasn't had any significant updates in what 4years? You cant even buy the game any more....

I hope wollay ignores all the negative feedback on his twitter, and stays true to him and his wifes vision. I don't care how long it will take to release, every time a twitter update releases, it fills me with so much joy. I'm glad other people are with me on this.

Actually i don't care, if other people influence the game. I'd just like an update and I don't want to wait an other decade. In his posts we can see, that pretty decent content has been added to Cubeworld and I can't understand why no update comes out. I mean this hasn't to be the last update, does it?

My friends and I reminisce often about the days when we'd play it all day. I occasionally still people play the game, and every time wol_lay tweets, there's always a surge in conversation.

Cube World came out first.
Trove and Cube World are similar but not identical. So I'd say Trove was inspired by CB but not copied.
Now I want Cube World ;w; When will the shop be open Sarah?! Trove is a really great game and the closest thing we have to Cube World, but looking at Cube World again it's much more beautiful and the movement is so much more fluent.

I am walking along going back to town,
when,
Ten thousand lions unleashed their wrathfuI thunderous roar.
I look out my window to see what happened... I thought it must have come from outside.
Seeing a dash of green out of the corner of my eye, I return to the game moments too late.
The ground gives out beneath me, I am knocked off my trusty turtle. When I come to my senses, this GIGANTIC MONSTER, eclipsing me and the sun, glares at me infuriated;
a Saurian.
Being high level, I had not run into something threatening in a long time, let alone something capable of changing the very face of the earth.
It rears up on its hind legs, let's out another roar; my ears ring. It comes down upon me at full force. I just barely manage to roll out of the way. I could not run from this behemoth, it's charge alone would cover half the map; I had to fight.
I drew my weapons.
It stood ready.
I throw stars in the Saurian's face to confuse it; I rush in.
Undeterred, it knocks me aside. I recover, counter attack. Blood. From us both. Just getting started. Dodging the charge, I hop on it's back; stabbing repeatedly. I am shaken off.
Shit, I lost a knife in it's back.
The forest goes by so fast as the colossal's tail whips me into a tree. My ears ringing louder. I barely dodge the next attack. It is all or nothing. More stars, I dash.
My small Blade finds the monster's eye. I grab the other knife that got stuck in the Saurian's back. Pulling it out, I go for the neck. The monster shrieks and send me flying.
Blackout.
I wake to the warm feeling of the giants blood at my feet.
I get up.
Leg and wrist broken.
I flip my turtle off his back.
Gather my things, loot the Saurian, and head to town.
Boy have I got a story for the inn keeper.
Don't even get me started on my reaction to the Hell Biome.

I've never even played this game because I didn't pick it up in time, but this video made me smile in admiration for a game I somehow still love and respect
the "its ready when we think its ready" concept created terraria, so im patient with this one, knowing that it will be great when it comes out

Alex Thomas But terraria devs are unusually enthusiastic ones. Pretty sure those guys are still adding contents up to today. You can't compare them to just any early access games. Especially the one that one or two people doing for hobbies.
1.yeah, terraria is still being updated and 2. both games (this and terraria) started as passion projects, and it is rare for someone to give up on a passion project if it is going so well, plus there are two people working on it so they hopefully will get encouragement from working with each other

I know the basics of cube world and seen some let's plays but when you talked about the game like that, it made me kinda happy and exited for what might come, i don't care if it takes 4 years or however long it might take them to finish it.

Been waiting on Cube World ever since I saw Bdubs play it. It just seems like the perfect game for me. I've loved every video of people playing this game and it saddens me thinking that one day I'll get too busy for games, get bored of them, it never comes out, and etc... because I truly want to play this game. I'll still fully respect the creator because he built a game I've never played that I would be willing to pay a large amount of money for it. No one I know personally has it so I can never truly experience. I'll wait another couple years. Maybe on the 6th year it'll release
Well, it didn't take that much longer. Cube World is going to release in the coming weeks and on Steam no less. The game has come back from it's long Coma, better then ever before and ready to show everyone what a two person team with a lot of heart can do. I hope everyone's servers are full come October, I know I'm going to have my spooky Undead Mage dropping bombs around town.

The combat feels addicting in a way of other games. You hit more, the more you will do damage due to the hit counter making you ignore its armor. and then you do a finishing move. it kinda feels satisfying and i like it. the randomness of this game too.
how do you play cubeworld? i really want to play it, tried to download it but it doesn't work.... saying audiox2 problems and direct3d or something like that can someone help me?
MEGA GHOST You can't play Cube World. Unless you bought it about 5-7 years ago. Any version now is a Pirate version, and you will most likely get a virus.

I watched my first cube world vid in 2012 and I had a mac so I couldn't get it u know but now I have a pc and it's always in the back of my head u know?
I remember being so hyped for this and was obsessed with this game. I still have it on my computer and for some reason it still draws nostalgia and makes me feel good. I'm probably gonna continue to play it now, thanks for rekindling my liking for this game

Strange how I watched his What ever happened to Cube World? video a few hours ago. It was also my first time watching any of his videos.
I remember when the game came out i chose the archer and no doubt after leveling up to around 140 that the archer was insanely op. I mean the DMG output was so damn high and you could continuously shoot arrows. There was also a glitch where you used the backstep skill and you could bhop building momentum to the point you were sonic the hedgehog. (You could also pull out a hang glider while doing this and fly super fast)

Adventuring in the new version feels different then this version
Man, I remember when Cube World first blew up and it was the talk of the town... in every town. I remember desperately begging my parents to buy it for me, to no avail. And then torrenting it because that was the only way I was able to play it and boy was it great. I can't wait for Cube World to come back full force and blow up again.

If you bought it, as long as you remember your login information you can still download it from the website.

I found cube world a while ago on Paulsoarsjr's channel. I had wanted to play it since I saw it, but now I guess I can't. Sad to see it died. Had a lot of potential

Maybe just nostalgia, remember times about playing with friends, going against bosses, dungeons and getting a lot of weapons, items and even pets, idk maybe was because with my friends we become like a real team, maybe just maybe was because I was allowed to play a game that I and my friends like, don't think wrong, I still play games with them, but I don't feel like another game made me feel like one with my friends.
That's why im still hopping for something about cube world.

I've had cube world idle on my pc for what seems like centuries yet I was always optimistic for the mega update and have patiently waited for around 3-5 years (I've forgotten when it released) I still see the amazing and beautiful game I bought so long ago and is still my favorite game of all time

A long time ago I played the game on a friend's computer and went home that day hooked, wallet in hand, and ready to immerse myself once again, but the store was closed. I didn't know this game was still a thing until today and I'm glad that it is, but I'm quite sad that I'll never be able to play it again. This kinda sucks...

The one thing I want from Cube World is an adventure and a world to explore with an empty mind. This provided me with that opportunity. The one thing I dislike about the game is that dodge is on the middle mouse button.

i hope Wollay will update his game this year. we have a lot of sneak peek on his twitter account. and yes im still playing this game, it's fun and very prometing. everytime Wollay post something, it make me happy because we have a proof Tahar he is alive and he continue to code his game after all theses years without updating his game. coding a game must be very hard. and they're only two to code/design : him and his wife.
Thats odd because they clearly want to update the game based on their continuous showing of new things or new mechanics etc but I didnt think that it hasn't been updated...

I am so happy I bought the game way back when I did. Have not touch it in years, but as of today I am coming back to it. Never hated the devs, I just always hoped it would be finished some day. It will always have my support.

from what i've seen this game is probably the closest to my dream action mmo with a massive world to explore and vast amount of abilities and monsters where i can fight players and monsters.

I would think a good analogy would be to liken the game to a school project that ended up being too successful. The student creating it soon was being nominated for a big national competition that they didn't want to participate in, the project was something they created because they wanted to. They wanted to show it off to their friends too, but now the whole country is asking for perfection. That's how I see it at least. Not sure if it makes sense to anyone else though, I feel that my wording is pretty bad right now.

Because I've never played a game that felt so good to play. It was so beautiful. The characters are adorable. Customizable weapons, adorable pets and by far my favourite combat system in any RPG. I really have high hopes for the game and I hope that, when it does release, Wollay is able to prove the wait was worth it.
I love cube world and play it for atleast 30 hours each time i am reminded of it.
