It is my absolute favorite thing that one of his dogs will always run to the top of the climb to greet him when he tops out, what good boys. Amazing work as always on the video!
Such an unreal work of art, the music and editing are on point! Gets me emotional. Cannot wait for you to somehow top what you've done here in Rooftown Vol. 4!
Late to the comment party, but yeah...What they said. Rooftown Volumes are the best climbing videos out there. By like 50 miles. Gentile, Davison...killin' it. Tip of the hat.
This is true film making! This is art! Amazing! Those roofs all look so awesome, I just want to grab my climbing shoes and go projecting! Thanks for sharing.
Can never get enough of this Rooftown series. Under a thousand likes? Not at all reflective of the content story edit soundtrack and above all inspiration
Beautifully shot and edited video, and the climbing was so incredible. I’ve never seen anything like it. What a genuinely amazing dude. Thank you for making this series
Start to finish this is a beautiful film. I will be watching this again and again for climbing inspiration and because it just have this incredible vibe to it. The music, the shots, etc etc simply beautiful. Thank you!!
I live in SW Arizona and I loved that you’ve showcased our amazing state. I also am very stoked to see volume 3. I was in awe of 1 & 2 and now you’ve done it again with your top shelf videography and rad score, and also the super awesome send factor. Keep em’ coming brother!!
Why is this not featured on reel rock?? It's not about "climbing the hardest whatever." Its just a good film about a unique climber in a relatively unknown locale. Much more compelling than some of the grade chasers highlighted on the series.
Really cool routes, nice looking rock, great scenery, and great climbing. I loved how the dogs met him at the top. Couldn't take the music though and muted most of it, sounded like something designed to put me in an institution ;-O
When I saw this come up I said, “Oh shit! YES!” These are some of the coolest and best made climbing vids on the tubes. Gotta get a friend out there like Jimmy or Paul R. Lovely work!
absolutely stunning work! loved the climbing, narration, images, camera work, cutting...and of course that absolute gem of a crag dog!:) kudos to you and all involved!
Where do you log all your first ascents? Are you creating a guideboon or do you add them to a site like 27crags? Or do you let them fall into oblivion?
The music was custom created by my friend, Tyler Stuck. It isn't available anywhere in a playlist but he is on spotify and also just released a new beat tape under the name Gladwell. Check it out :)
ha! it's more just having trouble finding humans to consistently journey out with us. It is usually just me, Matt, and the doggos when filming. Thanks for watching!
My mum and dad won’t even lend me bus fare to get to my local climbing wall , moss side , but I’m not bitter , just sad. , this guy seems really interesting......... mmm
Yea. Usually when they leave grades out its justified by saying people should 'focus on the beauty of the movement' but I think I appreciate climbs more when I can tell how challenging they are. This guy makes a lot of these look like they're V4 but I'm sure some are in the double digits. I can't tell. I also like grades because then I can decide whether or not I'd be able to do it or if I'd want to some day go try it. There's something cool about knowing something is within your grasp. It makes it more fun to watch a lot of times.
It's nice to leave something up to the imagination, perhaps. And in this case, we wanted the mind to be drawn more towards the landscapes and shapes more than anything else. Thanks for the feedback and checking out the film !
This is absolutely the best climbing/bouldering video I have ever seen. Footage and edit is a masterpiece. Lector appears with short valuable message, it does not cover the hole film with "bla bla bla". What are the grades of these boulders? And the music cooperates with outside autumn/winter conditions. Just the best outdoor climbing video to sit and watch with a cup of hot chocolate after whole day. You guys should send it to Outdoor/Climbing Film Festivals. Check out the Mountain Climbing Festival in Ladek Zdroj, Poland. Thanks for that content! Instagram: fox_ropes
It is my absolute favorite thing that one of his dogs will always run to the top of the climb to greet him when he tops out, what good boys.
Amazing work as always on the video!
That brings me great joy as well. Dogs are simply the finest creatures on earth.
Thanks to all you wonderful humans who have watched, liked, commented, and supported my films over the years. It sure means a lot.

The sound design on this was the best I have ever seen in a climbing video, and just plain brilliant.

Most underrated climbing film of all time. Phenomenal work
Your stuff is some of the best climbing content on RUclips. Beautiful video.
Thanks James, hope I can create more eyehole content soon.
The production level on this is insane, camera work, sound design, drone work, editing. It's clear a ton of work went into this and it really shows
Thanks a ton Kevin!

This is the best climbing channel on youtube
This is true film making! This is art! Amazing! Those roofs all look so awesome, I just want to grab my climbing shoes and go projecting! Thanks for sharing.
Your roof town videos are some of the most beautifully shot climbing videos out there, bar none, great work.
Thanks a ton Mark. Perhaps another volume will be created someday
Can never get enough of this Rooftown series. Under a thousand likes? Not at all reflective of the content story edit soundtrack and above all inspiration
Amazing video. All three. Love the LOTR references for the route names. Sound design was fascinating.
This is absolutely the best climbing video I've ever seen. This needs to be seen by every climber in the world. Wow man just wow
Holy Highball!!! Love it, epic series man. Excellent climbing and production.
Beautifully shot and edited video, and the climbing was so incredible. I’ve never seen anything like it. What a genuinely amazing dude. Thank you for making this series
This is truly a masterpiece, in all aspects.
really nice of you to say
Start to finish this is a beautiful film. I will be watching this again and again for climbing inspiration and because it just have this incredible vibe to it. The music, the shots, etc etc simply beautiful. Thank you!!

I’ve beeen waiting forever for number 3!!! Yay!!! Some of my fav videos!
Bro this is actually insane. UNREAL Video. Everything about this is amazing!
Why is this not featured on reel rock?? It's not about "climbing the hardest whatever." Its just a good film about a unique climber in a relatively unknown locale. Much more compelling than some of the grade chasers highlighted on the series.
I totally agree! And the way Matt talks about his climbing with such love and passion is inspiring
Psyched!!! One of the best climbing videos I've ever seen
talent, production and footage all incredible, bravo.
Awesome stuff! Thank you 😊
Goord blocs, good musics, good video montage, we get caught quickly !
The dog is so cute 😍. Waiting for his owner on the top of every boulder .
Incredible video. 100% Pure!
Amazing climbing and filming/editing. Nice work.
thanks a lot for the vid. thanks for the time you invested on finding and climbing the routes. thanks
I love how the closeup that broke a relatively long single shot of climbing was a perfect explanation of the route name, Sleight of Hand.
Masterpiece! Amazing work🙏 🌟
Really cool routes, nice looking rock, great scenery, and great climbing. I loved how the dogs met him at the top. Couldn't take the music though and muted most of it, sounded like something designed to put me in an institution ;-O

Top class, best Rooftown volume!
the climbing world needs more of this type of cinematography. Uncut footage just doesnt compare
Yeah buddy! Another beautiful experience
Another great film, hopefully more to come 👍
absolutely stunning work! loved the climbing, narration, images, camera work, cutting...and of course that absolute gem of a crag dog!:) kudos to you and all involved!
Absolutely mesmerizing
What are the songs? Love the video!
Es simplemente perfecto, que hermoso trabajo hicieron. Amazing effort
Such an amazing video!
Love the doggz!!
One of the best climbing movies;)Amazing
piece of art
always awesome !!!! hope to get out there !!!!
Very nice video!!! 😉
Every single top looks like do or die lol
i really like your videos. i hope you get the hype you deserve! your stuff is great
i love that his dog runs to the topout each time lol
i love matt
I'm here for your dogs as much as you climbing tbh
me too
Matt surely must have astounding pinch and grip power. If he faps, he dies. Roof legend.
What is the music used in this? It’s super dope and really emphasizes his climbing, great job man
I do really like how grades aren't includedin this, it suits the video: this is art and so it shouldn't matter
beautiful !
Songs name?? Great video 🎉
so sick!!
I've watched this film maybe 5 times in the last few months. The most quality climbing film I've seen! What camera and lens did you use?
Been waiting for this one🤘🤘
Sick, and super inspiring. On a side note, anyone know what type of dogs those are? I'm assuming it's a border collie, but I'm not so sure.
The Border collie/blue heeler is Dignin and the Corgi is Charlie
This dude straight up learned to fly a helicopter to search for the perfect routes. SICK
yessssssss!!! more!!!
Sequence MASTER
Some people hunt animals and some people hunt rock.
Good
Where do you log all your first ascents? Are you creating a guideboon or do you add them to a site like 27crags? Or do you let them fall into oblivion?
No guidebook. Not quite letting them fall into oblivion but something like that. Those who seek shall always find
Boulder hunting is incredibly fun. Its nice to leave some routes obscure in order to ignite the passions of others.
@Nathaniel Davison What Music is used in this video, Songs?
The music was custom created by my friend, Tyler Stuck. It isn't available anywhere in a playlist but he is on spotify and also just released a new beat tape under the name Gladwell. Check it out :)
Wowwwwwwww
YES
It wouldn't kill the aesthetic if we saw more spotters in your videos but i guess they are busy flying drones. Sick climbing and footage. Subscribed.
ha! it's more just having trouble finding humans to consistently journey out with us. It is usually just me, Matt, and the doggos when filming. Thanks for watching!
WOW
Damn!
My mum and dad won’t even lend me bus fare to get to my local climbing wall , moss side , but I’m not bitter , just sad. , this guy seems really interesting......... mmm
Sofa King Good!
Awesome edit. Imo it would be nice if you would tell the grade of the climb.
hard

all the routes are named from lord of the rings, probably because he's a hobbit
really not a fan of those audio effects. Sounds totally overdone
Adam Muldoon kicking rocks....? clown., is that a band or something?
All good, not for everyone. Hopefully the beats were a soothing reprieve for your earholes. Thanks for watching
I love how the closeup that broke a relatively long single shot of climbing was a perfect explanation of the route name, Sleight of Hand.
