As a season finale you could have a Big(K)nightIn and prepare a big
medieval banquet/feast (no cutlery allowed) for the whole sorted crew
and make things like German pork knuckle, whole cooked fish, homemade
spirits, whole wheat bread, maybe even a hog roast....(though perhaps
skip the alleged flamingo tongues :P )
Freddy Jodocus K that is an amazing idea!
Freddy Jodocus K il give you a knuckle sandwich
Freddy Jodocus K That sounds frickin awesome!
Sounds like a delicious idea !
YES! THIS!
I'd like to take minute to thank Ben, Mike, Barry, Jamie, James and the rest of the Sorted Food team for upping the game this season. That amount of quantity and quality has got to be result of very hard work and passion for delivering such entertaining and interesting content. The videos have been really really reaaally great, so, even though the season isn't finished you can all pat yourselves in the back (and maybe each other, show us on video!). Congratulations, guys :)
Ben's Aussie accent wasn't the worst thing I've heard this year. Good effort. And you can't have a good barbie without a potato salad
I was expecting to cringe, but the first part was actually half way decent, it just dropped off at the end lol
Yeah, not actually too shabby - I think they should do an Australia day episode or something where they ALL have to do one for the whole episode!
That's such a good idea! Let the cringe flow free!
It was good for like two words then swiftly sounded american. But yes potato salad is a must
TRKTIsMe I'm a kiwi and I agree! Potato salad is essential for a BBQ :)
Oh my god. A BBQ table. Where has this been all my life??
SO great
laura hamilton I need one
SORTEDfood ill give you another million subscribers if you give
Me your BBQ table
Where can I get one?
It's sooooo cooool
I finally understand just how much steak means to Jamie. I love how sentimental he was when given those brownie points for his brisket.😋
i love that the potato salad is warm. i HATE cold potatoes so i always avoid potato salad at social functions. i would actually eat this one.
Katy I totally agree!
I didn't even think about it, but good point!
I guess you could say that the table is lit
ill show you out
Christina Huang No no! Keep him in.
I can't tell if Barry is 17 or 30 😂
Yes! I'm a veggie eater (just started about two years ago) and this is fantastic! Well done!
8:40 As a descendant of people who first came to texas 176 years ago, that brisket looks legit!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻Well done, Jamie.👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻💐💐💐💋💋💋💋💋🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🇺🇸🌸
Damn, this is the first time I feel like I might like a cauliflower recipe. Everything looks delicious, but most of all I want a good portion of those salads right now and I'm not even vegetarian.
tastymedleys salads aren't just for vegetarians, neither should they be an after thought. Glad you like 'em!
There was a cauliflower curry on Food Tube a couple of weeks ago which looked surprisingly appetising
I'm always in charge of the salad at family barbeques. I usually do just a big green salad with lots of variety and my homemade dressing, but I try different things with the potato salad. I will be incorporating some of Ben's ideas for the next time.
@@bcaye I tend to make a potato salad (still haven't found a fav recipe yet) and a chickpea salad that really zingy and fresh tasting - I eat meat but not huge amounts so i love a salad that actually fills you up a bit!
We bake potatoes on the grill all the time. Poke some holes in each one with a fork and microwave on high for 5 minutes. Wrap in foil and put on the grill (not sure the foil is really necessary, but it’s what we do).
Is Barry's hair always like that or did he do it different here cuzzz damnnnn. His hair is secuteee.
These recipes look amazing- thank you for doing vegetarian barbecue recipes that are actually really original and different! Looking forward to giving these a go :)
You're welcome 😊

Ben: "I'm holding a knife!..."
"The reason these cauliflower steaks are so good is cause of the Super Secret Sauce". Proceeds to tell super secret sauce. Seems legit.
2ManyTekkers sorry... We over-share everything. But you won't tell anyone right? Just keep it between us?
#TypicalEbbers
Good god, I just love Mike and his remarks and puns :D you never know what to expect from him :D
This is sooooo special and sweet, watching your friendship and gratitude. Extremely excited to make some of these dishes as soon as the weather is sunny again. Love your channel so much. Thank you!
Idk how anyone could dislike this video. It had friends and their humor. It had bomb ass recipes that I can’t wait to try. Their whole brownie point game was like them just dishing out compliments. It was such a joy to watch this episode.
Thank you for making a vegetarian BBQ...
While people are complaining about meat or the lack of it I cannot overstate just how happy this makes a vegetarian like me. I wish people started having at least some vegies at BBQs... Way to go, Sorted Food! Breaking stereotypes one surprisingly tasty healthy dish at a time!
That's weird to me. There are no vegetarians in my family or group of friends and we always have tons of vegetarian friendly things (even some vegan ones too). If you have 1 kilo of food on your plate, 100-300g is meat and the rest is vegetarian/vegan
That was absolutely lovely! The potato salad and asparagus salad are definite must trys! I sooo wish I was back home (Chicago) - you will find game changing food galore there!
This is by far the most EPIC episode you've done!! The salads are super stylish and variegated, it's exactly what I'd want o eat. Thanks!
For my potato salad I always do half mayo and half greek yogurt, which also like the sour cream in this recipe makes it much lighter and refreshing! (Also never skimp on the spring onions!)
that's the most colourful BBQ I've ever seen, so much green!!
I have to this before the summer end!! Grilled Cauliflower looks really good.. everything is delicious!
Mike brings out his inner Gennaro at 6:07 ahaha
Kazzy Bro LOL! So true.
im from the south and that is the best looking potato salad i have ever seen. i am most certainly going to try it out!!
Ben: * cooks pretty much anything *
Barry: "it's sort of... Fresh"
This all looks so stunning!! Adding these to the repertoire for sure 😍
Good to hear Isabel :) Happy to help!
BBQ in Kansas City you HAVE TO GO TO:
-Arthur Bryant's
-Joe's Kansas City
-Gate's
I'd also reccomend looking into restaurants in Lawrence, KS as well. It's only forty minutes down the highway and has several great local restaurants.
I'm still convinced you guys should come out to New England in the summertime, especially Maine. Gorgeous, beautiful Maine lobster (I recommend the lobster rolls at Red's in Wiscasset) and wild Maine blueberries coming out your ears (Ben & Bill's Chocolate Emporium in Bar Harbor has delicious blueberry ice cream)
Vermont, too! Idk if it's state loyalty or whatever but VT has the best little mom-and-pop restaurants.
Britney Rezendes I go to UMaine and omg you're not wrong. I would choose ME over FL anytime now
Mmm, it's very very very very hard to beat lobster in Maine from one of those no frills joints on the pier.
I actually really like this setting for Big Night In, may once a while can just rotate between your studio and the poolside Dining Grill, especially when the sun is about to set.
As an Aussie, Ben’s attempt at our accent almost made me crack a rib laughing 😂
Love this video guys! Really put me in the summery mood, plus really hungry! 😊
Also another good veggie salad suggestion: Watermelon, cucumber, mint and feta! Had it for the first time the other week - delish! 😀
Jamie, a friend is mine in Tennessee had a smoker that he towed behind his pickup truck. It was massive. He made BBQ for connotations and charities. He made me a bunch of brisket. After he put a rub on the meat he would wrap it in an aluminum foil envelope/packet and that would lock in the moisture and he always smoked the brisket for 13 hours and add you learned you cannot leave it. He sat up in his driveway, with beer and sports on the radio and podcasts. Oh he made his own BBQ sauce which was spectacular and of course had Jack Daniels in it. Also his smoker had a thermometer and not an "ideal" meter LOL! Try different smoking wood chips. Apple is classic but in the US mesquite, hickory, maple are king but pecan is also widely used. BTW Jack Daniels makes a great whiskey barrel wood chip. I would be utterly shocked is Jim Beam didn't... I'm ask my sister in law... She's a Beam. That being said there are far better bourbons here. You guys would love the Kentucky Bourbon trail tour. It's not a 1 day tour and takes you to the birthplace of bourbon. You're juice couldn't do it in a day LOL! Lots of great food on the way too.
I love this. Really great ideas put out for a BBQ. Definitely going to use some of these in the future.
Normally I just do a quinoa, green bean and broccoli salad with feta and pine nuts. Definitely adding this asparagus one to my usuals.
In the Southern States of America a BBQ is a slow cook/smoke event.(24 hour Brisket, 12 hr Pork, 2 hr Chicken etc.) What you have is a "CookOUT" to us . As in 'We are going to cook outside on the grill'.
This is by far my favourite video and recipes! Made them on the weekend… best. asparagus. salad. ever. Also, I want that table!
I've been bbq'ing for a while..never ever seen anything like what you did in this video. Doing the meat beforehand and then BBQing the vegs at the table? And it looks phenomenal! I'm completely stealing this for my next bbq!
Mike gets a point simply for his puns! Ham-mer time. LOLs
Brilliant episode--love the location! Can't wait to see what you get up to next week.
5 months late so you probably wont see it and may have come across this solution already, but working for a British smokehouse I can tell you that British beef can make some pretty dry brisket because we feed our cattle differently than the States. Australian beef also tends to be a decent source for a consistently moist and fatty brisket.
Potato salad is almost always an essential part of a traditional Lobster supper you can find in Nova Scotia or PEI, Canada but the potatoes usually are mashed.
I'm, definitely, going to try the salads, and possible the salmon one day. They all look amazing!!!
I really like that barbecue table! It's so friendly. :)
Legend has it, that Ben is still reaching to clink his glass with the others.
Legend has it, that Jamie is still sitting at the table, eating all the brisket.
Its like that time David Cameron offered a hand to a politician, and he ignored him because of Barack Obama being there.
"Please love me..."
LOVED the vibe of this video!
oh my god i'm drooling, this looks amazing! definitely after a bbq table for my future house
Peel and slice potato, butternut pumpkin, onion, sweet potato.. chuck in a bowl. Add salt pepper and olive oil
Fry on the grill. Amazing stuff.
fantastic video. thank you guys.
Oh Mike that Hamma time was hilarious!! I love burnt things! 😊
Barry practically swallowing his potato whole and trying to look innocent is the best bit.
Guys, come hang out with me in CA. Don't forget to bring James.
I hope in the future you guys will come to Canada and have some awesome Canadian Dishes. I know Chief Anthony Bourdain had a great time over here.
😂😂😂 Jamie's face when Ben pulled out the cauliflower!!!
I grew up in NJ where having a BBQ is exactly what you guys did. But I've lived in North Carolina for 29 years and here, BBQ is only one thing. Pork. What you did is referred to as "grilling out." Just a bit of South Eastern US info. And BTW, all of the food you grilled looks fabulous!
I Cannot refute the potato salad comment as honestly usually it is Potato Salad, Coleslaw and a tossed salad, also sometimes Pasta salad.... just life in Australia lol
it gets fucking hot here, we need SOMETHING to keep the mouth cool lol (unless its just a barbie with mates, then the cold ciders and beers will do the job)
I make a really easy chickpea salad thats fresh and zingy too! :D at least the salads dont attact the flies and/or ants as much
9:48 this is why i love barry. Such a good soul!
Ooo...I love when the boys go on road trips! Hope you make it to Edmonton one day!
i once went to a nice restaurant in washington dc with my brother and ordered the "potato salad".... what they brought was a big green salad with like 3 small potatoes on top.... ive never been more disappointed in my life
Next time you come to Texas you need to come to Fort Worth. You need to try the Chicken Fried Steak from Horseshoe Hill, a Burger from Hookers, & BBQ from Angelo’s(they have the coldest beer in town)!
I want to see you experiment with Kohlrabi. A very underused vege and I LOVE it.
raw in salads.. steamed and mashed with butter grated and made into patties cubed in a curry..... fried in butter (ooh yes).. make a nice vid. Kohlrabi how many ways..?
Hey guys I've got a question
When squeezing lemon why do u put your hand underneath it?? Thanks guys great video!! 😀😀😀
To stop all the pips falling in the food
Ooooohhhhh!!! Cheers Guys!!! Enjoy America 😀😀😁😁
I need a grill table! Thank you for showing me that, as well as for the wonderful menu. Lovex3
This is such an epic bbq big nite in. Good job guys. The potatoes are way too delicious.
This is crazy! Just found your channel this week and now you're coming to Chicago. You should definitely try deep dish from Giordano's, hot dogs from Devil Dogs, Manny's Deli is amazing as well. If your looking to up the price a bit, The Publican, and any of the Girl and the Goat restaurants off Randolph street are brilliant.
That table is AMAZING
Hey guy, love the channel, absolutely craving the bbq potato salad, but the links for these recipes aren't working, and I can't find it in the sidekick app
Please help!
Hey boys! Just wanna know if I could Pre boil those potatoes before bringing them to the barbie so they'll cook faster or will it change the texture/flavour of the dish?
Greek Islands in Chicago is my favorite Greek restaurant. Period. The taramasalata and saganaki are my favorite appetizers, and the dolmades and the pasticho are the best entres! The staff are so friendly, and many came straight from Greece! My family have gone to this restaurant for as long as I can remember, and going with my Yia-yia and Thia make it so much better, since they could joke with the servers and talk about the food knowledgeably. Game Changer!
When he pulled out the bread, I was thinking 'ciabatta do something good with that...' and you really pulled it off guys, well done!
this was such a wholesome episode. i. love. it.
I want that table!!! That is the coolest thing ever!
Those look delicious! Too bad I don’t have BBQ… Could I do it in my oven? I’m definitely sharing the recipes with my dad who I consider a BBQ King so he can try them and invite me to try them with him obviously ❤😅 I’ll do the prep, he can manage the grill ; that’s I’d call ‘teamwork, SORTED’ 🙈😘
Slow smoked shredded tri-tip on a house green salad with a slightly spicy jalapeño and Serrano tomato salsa, and freshly made Ranch dressing. That’s a BBQ salad.
These plates are looking Great 😍
Wonder if you could the cauliflower in an oven. Won't have the grill marks but I don't know if it'll turn out just soft instead.
To be fair brisket is super hard to do and takes forever. So you did a magnificent job with it.
You’re correct! Never seen cauliflower and brisket on the same place lol
Oh I'm gutted today... So I usually watch a whole weeks worth of sorted food and other RUclips food channels to get ideas on what to eat the next week. I usually wait until your Sunday vid and then go off shopping. I loved the potato salad as well as the asparagus salad and I was going to do it with the salmon but when I was at the shop, all the asparagus comes from Peru! I thought it was still in season in Britain but apparently not☹️ I will have to wait until next year or hunt a bunch of English asparagus then😢 drooling in front of my screen will have to do for today😂
one of Sorteds best episodes
I am so glad I found this channel! Where did Mike get that horse hat?
Woah woah WOAH, can we address the BBQ table thing you have?? Where does one pur-chase such and amazing object?? lol Anyone?
I thought so to, so I looked for it. The Angara Grill Table, which is also called the "iBBQ", and while it look great, its price tag is $15,000.
It's way too expensive for me, might get a jag grill table which is between 1.6-2.5k depending on size.
Where was this shot! Beautiful table and pool 😍
Mike @ 6:12 "Great - another really good looking plate of food to look at...". That's the life of a SortedFood viewer, hehe.
Mike should get a brownie point for rocking that deftones hat
I'm legitimately taking notes from this episode to incorporate some of those grilled/charred veggie elements into future dishes for bbq's and family events...well done, chaps...
I was skeptical about vegetarian bbq, but that potato salad looks so delicious! Loved BBQ week. Mad props to Jamie on his smoked brisket. So much effort and passion!
As an Aussie I can confirm potato salad is a MUST at a barbeque
I see the subtle bennuendo here... Ben tossing salad
I really enjoyed watching this video
I know this is the last video of bbq- week, but could you meaby some were find a place for bbq deserts or hot Cole (forinstanse campfire week) deserts like brownie in a orange or dutch over cake or can apple pie. I think you could make these (and other) recepieces wonderfull and you would make Jamie very happy.
I love your show guys
I actually like to bring some salad and also some carbs, most other people only bring meat and while meat tastes good, it's boring on its own. The potato salad looks great, I always only used boiled potatos.
I have been hearing such good things about Jersey Royal potatoes and I am absolutely miffed that they aren't available in the US.
Same, I love potatoes like the chubby hobbit I am.
Y'all should come to Rogers, Arkansas! It's only 3 hours away from Kansas City to try Saiwok Vietnamese Street Food!! The best Vietnamese fusion food around!!
absolutely here for Mikes energy 😂😂
Jamie if you wrap your brisket before you put it on the smoker you'll get the effect Barry is talking about and it holds heat in
My favourite vegetarian thing to put on a bbq is mushrooms marinated in some oil, paprika, garlic, soy sauce, black pepper + whatever spices you have to hand you think will taste nice. Better than any fake meat you can buy.
