Thanks a bunch for the detailed description, it was as basic as I thought... with the issue of me having .txt due to some other "tutorial" stating it was necessary. That and I'm sre it's because of windows 10 (in hindsight I realized that it was to make sure the file extension was in text format but why he had to specify this is frustrating since he stated to create a text document unless he had been referring to noobs venturing off the path and doing a word document instead) + 1 thumbs up man.

I have a problem. Are you familiar with XMB item hider plugin? It was the reason why I wanted custom firmware in the first place. Now that I have custom firmware, the damn plugin won't work. In recovery menu it says it's enabled, but it doesn't work. What a fuck load of shit.
