Is this a 1500 Meanstreak engine? If it is, the manual says to install both pistons with the arrows pointing toward the front of the engine like you did. I am assuming it is a Meanstreak as I think the pistons only have an arrow as a directional marking. Other models, such as the Drifter, will have an "EX" for exhaust side while the Classic has an arrow with an "F"for front of engine.

@@donwolfjr1 Thanks man, it's really tricky with these bikes. You really have to pay attention to the direction the pistons were in and always put the pistons back in the cylinder it came out of if you're not replacing them. Now, if you're honing the cylinders to remove the glazing and replacing the rings, then all that matters is if the pistons are still within tolerances but the direction they go in is essential or you will have scuffing issues. These 1500 Vulcans all seem to have different piston markings and directions. I know this because I rebuilt an engine out of two that came from a mechanic school. Didn't even know what year they were. I had to do some serious detective work to figure it out. Let me know if you need any help.

Hello good afternoon, excuse me I hope and you can answer some questions in relation to the assembly of the engine, since mine was taken apart and the bike did not fit well, at the beginning I thought it was the time, but after investigating and being able to put it on time, there was no time left Well, I kept believing it was the time, however check and the weather is fine, the problem is that the motorcycle the sound is not normal, it is very ugly, for a motor pump. In short, I am almost sure the valves were damaged, since when assembling the engine they put the camshafts upside down and did not start, or the crankshaft and crankshaft counterweight are incorrectly synchronized.
At the time of the gun, are both pistons in top dead center?
At the time of setting the engine, which as such the manual states to put the front piston first and then the rear piston, do you turn the crankshaft counterclockwise? (So the manual also marks)
How far do you turn until you reach the second mark (r)? it's for the rear piston. 310 degrees or about 50 degrees.

Wondering if you could help me out with a problem I have with a vn1500 meanstreak 2003 I got a while back the speedometer was broken so not sure of mileage
The bike was running ruff but had been sitting a while
I ran her with injection cleaner etc and got her goin
I noticed she was using oil I had to top her up considerably but doesn’t appear to be putting out any smoke etc actually runs fine
I then decided to fit the cam chain extensions on the adjusters
When I took them out they where at full adjustment
Could have been like that for a long time
    Well I fitted the extensions
And when checking the oil Assy filter at the sump there was like a thin piece of plastic and what appeared to be like a hard foam which I suspect is the the cam blade
I have rode the bike since a few hundred miles
Decided to do the oil again
And there was a lot more of the foam I described
Is it a big job to go in and replace the he blades
And if I do decide to take this on
    Where do I start
    What do I need etc
Do I need to replace other stuff when I’m in there etc valve seal ,gaskets
Can’t afford to pay someone I’ve a lot of money in the bike as I restored it paint etc to get it where it is
I would really appreciate your help and advice

This guy needs to learn what to NOT skip in making his videos. Some of us would LIKE to see the parts he's skipping... SMH... That's why i'm NOT liking his videos. He might as well show the engine before he starts the work , then show the engine back together AFTER the wortk...
