Sharpening a WW2 Ka-Bar Knife

id like to see what every one suggestion on the handle...id like to save it so hopefully not cracking more or leather shrinking ..thanks isaac

Wire brush or sand paper folded .theres a disc of leather missing but try soaking in mineral oil ontario made em for ww2 and vietnam camilius made them heavy in vietnam
