- Christine Jorgensen, a Trans woman and activist, putting on makeup in 1953.
Christine was an actress, model, and inspiration to so many trans women. When she returned to the U.S. from Denmark after her gender reassignment surgery, she instantly became an icon. And while she was not the first U.S. trans person to transition, she became one of the first to be well known.
Her influence continues today and we will be discussing her in the upcoming episode about the Compton Cafeteria Riots so follow us on your favorite podcast platform so you don't miss it!
