- In this video I demonstrate how to use the step sequencer in Logic Pro 10.5 to automate synthesizer parameters in Alchemy, or any other software instrument for that matter.

wow this is epic! thanks!
Another great video! Good way to learn some more cool features in Alchemy while trying to learn about the new (to me) logic 10.5.
Thanks for the video!!!!
Good tip! Thank you 👍
Had to come back to this Josh Re: Euclidean rhythms, it works so well!!! \m/
👍 thanks
This is a good one brother. joe from Staten Island.
Hey Josh... I know I should already know the answer given how long I've been using Logic, but I've only returned to LPX in the past 6 months after not using it for a while (and the last version I had was 9, anyway), but I started all my current projects in 10.4, and thus I have midi regions via piano roll for all my work. Can the automation parameters like those in the step sequencer be used in the piano roll? I'm just getting stuck in creative ruts with repeating loops - currently doing audio file editing and mixing rather than composing. I used to be pretty good with different automation/mixing techniques, even without a midi controller, but it just flew out the window in that break. Novation pulled support for Automap, so my ReMOTE SL compact doesn't even work except as a GM keyboard, can't even use the drum pads on it and Logic Remote has way too much latency as a controller.
Also, is there any way to convert midi regions in piano roll into the step sequencer regions? Notably for drums.
I swear youtube quit showing your videos in my suggestions, I have to literally search for ya now smh!
I would really really like to know how to make those drum rhythms in a fast time ?" What did you use to make those reallly good nice drum rhytm which exactly goes well with the wax and wane sounds ???/
Patches and the drum kit designer, if you create a blank track you can load in the drum presets and it will load all the plug ins and everything from them too. It will also play a controllable loop too. Lastly you can also save your own patches which are alot like track stacks.
Is there a way to record automation in live loops view??
doing any sort of melody in the step sequencer just seems like a weird way to go about things imo, the sequencer is really cool, just seems more fun than useful for me for most tasks
Thx your Video . One question. Apple loop ( Software Instrument Loop ) once drop to track, they will lose their effect ., eq... so on. Is it possible to keep that effect which the same like pre listening ?
Can you smooth transition between steps?
Does this eat a lot of processor? Thanks.
👍🏻
Can you have alchemy in one track but change the patch that is selected patch meaning the different sound setting so have the song change alchemy sounds but in one track
TIL the pad thing in alchemy can actually transform between the settings. I always assumed you just select one of the 8... now I feel like a total dummy.
Don't worry, I keep forgetting that too.
Anders kan je er ook niks mee
Ohw iet oplicht zijn
much technique - less music
