I always saw it as this wonder woman being more “warrior” than the woman she usually is in other medium. Yeah she does good deeds, but it’s more about the conflict, and battle for her, than justice. Once Superman snapped, it was the green light to not just have another battle, but start a war, albeit a war on crime. And as a bonus, once the dust cleared; she’d be a champion, she’d be a ruler. So, she’s using his grief to take what she wants. It’s chillingly compelling, tbh

At least Superman has the excuse that he’s blinded by grief, loss and rage and clearly rationalises his behaviour by genuinely believing he’s doing the right thing. Wonder Woman eggs Superman on and she’s blinded by wanting to get under his red undies (yes i’m aware this version of Superman doesn’t have the red undies, it’s obviously a joke and you get the point anyway). It’s never even explained why she’s this way, she just is so it’s hard to even assume that this Wonder Woman was ever anything like the real one. Besides the points you mention, there's also a scene in Injustice 2 where Wonder Woman is confronted by Harley Quinn. She says that Harley can't judge her bc of all the blood in her hands, only for Harley to not only admit that she truly made mistake (proving that she accept her crimes rather than ignoring them) but also points out that her motivation (wanting to impress the Joker) is no different from Wonder Woman's lust and obsession for Injustice Superman and Diana, enraged, tries to kill her, showing how delusional the amazon has become by this point.

Well in the comics the story starts out with Wonder woman being betrayed by her sidekick at the very begging. Remember Injustice doesn't just have Superman Killing Lois Land and their son at the start. It starts before then with her original side kick always being a Nazi agent and that he killed her mentor. So when she found out that happened she killed him and refused to forgive anyone that wronged her or others ever again. It's my favorite type of plot line of villains aren't born they are created. In that instance the betrayal of her sidekick set so many things in motion that it lead to Wonder Woman being the big bad and manipulating Superman to her side. I really wish when they had the main heroes cross over they had included her original sidekick Steve Trevor go with them. I really want to see what would have happened if Injustice Wonder woman met the real Steve Trevor that was always British and would never betray anyone let alone Wonder Woman! Would we have seen a redemption arc or is she too far gone?

i think whats most fascinating for me about it is while she definitly had the right to be angry and never forgive steve for the betrayal...technically the germans were also brainwashed into becoming nazi's. as much as nazi's should take responsibilities for what they did....alot of the german people were lured into it due to brainwashing, taking advantage when they were at the lowest and survival because if they didn't go along with it they would die...and then often doubled down out of denial because if they faced that the ideology was wrong and what they did...the guilt would crush them.
which honestly makes me wonder when wonderwoman might realize that SHE is the nazi steve to the injustice superman...like..what would she do if she met OUR steve who is genuinely a good person and not a nazi...would it make her think that her steve hadn't started off evil? would she assume it was completely a trick like last time since she didn't ask the right questions?
like how would she respond if someone pointed out she is the equivalent of the evil steve to her version of superman. leaving certain facts out to get what she wanted? while ignoring the clear signs thats not whats best for clark?

how would she feel if that steve trevor is disappointed in her cz he knows the best she could be and she specifically falls short? would our steve worry about her?
honestly.....it would be good alone to adress the fact that she might hate her own steve trevor but thematically SHE is now the evil steve trevor to superman. using him and leaving certain information out of his reach to leave him in a vulnerable position to do what she wants..and just like she didnt excuse evil steve neither should she be excused.
though it does also raise questions because yes steve was evil nazi steve...but techically the nazi's were also victims to the ideology where you had to go along with it or risk death...similar tto how everyone who goes against the superman regime risks death andalot of heros went along with it at first seeing it as helping at first...dismissing the clear signs something was really wrong until they did worse andworse stuff...tothe point some just stayed because if they went against it..they would ie or have to face the horrible things they did.
similar to how many nazi's were reluctant to face that the nazi ideology was wrong despite how clearly it was bad because of the guiklt and horror of whart it wold mean if they were wrong and what they had enabled.
and steve while resposible for what he did is also a victim of that ideology.
and its kindof ironic that WW fell for him acting like the normal steve...but once she realized his true feelings under the act...she broke it off immediately yes she somehow doesn't believe or is pushing back against the good things the version she fell for pretended to believe and is now perpetuating a sense of control simiar to the evil nazi stuff which was the ideology he had been trapped in.
i wonder if she'd think maybe there could have been more to why her steve ended up that way?
or would she be paralyzed with her parallel to her nazi steve if it was pointed out?

Knew they were wrong, did it anyway, except maybe Black Adam and Sinestro who were both villains or morally ambiguous to begin with anyway. But I think the "true villain" isnt a character, its the idea that once youve done wrong your only choice is to keep doing wrong because you are beyond redemption.
Both WW and Superman are like Anakin/Darth Vader. They know theyve done wrong or gone against who they are supposed to be, for whatever reason. And rather than face it and atone, they dig deeper because they believe that they have to do be the villain because they are beyond redemption.

So Wonder Woman in injustice used her position as superman’s friend to essentially replace Lois. Lois being superman’s conscience and his attachment to humanity. With this she shaped him into a man based on showing strength and no weakness. Making people fear if they stepped out of place. She did stuff like dressing quite sexually around superman to attempt to seduce him, she even tried to kiss him. Because she wanted to rule the earth by his side. She isolated him from his friends. In the comic books every time a friend reached out to him she was in the middle. Take aquaman for example someone who could have advised him on ruling earth maybe even talked him out of it told Wonder Woman he is here for him she refused to pass the message. When Martian Manhunter seemed to be getting through to superman by explaining he knows what it feels like to lose his family she interrupted leading to Martian Manhunters death. This was insane because at this time Martian Manhunter was the only being that understood superman. She was definintly a heavy role to play in the downfull of superman. she was his replacement lois and she focused on shaping superman into what she thought all men were and not seeing that clark was a better man. Batman did fail as a friend and it's difficult not see that. He wasnt there for him when he needed him the most. imagine if Batman was on superman side even for a bit. he could of been is moral support he would of greived over lois properly and maybe stuff wouldnt of went to far

Injustice WW was absolutely the puppeteer behind Superman's regime. Joker may have pushed Superman over the edge, but she kept him there. Scarecrow showed it himself, her worst fear is Superman realizing what she's been doing to him all these years and holding her accountable for it.

  • @baylaust
    @baylaust 2 месяца назад +2

The thing about Injustice WW is that they quietly changed her origins in the comics, in a way that's never addressed in the games (which is admittedly a fault of the series as a whole).
Her origins are largely similar: Amazon warrior, daughter of the gods, meets a pilot named Steve Trevor who introduces her to mankind, that whole thing. Except with one major change: in this universe, Steve Trevor was a Nazi sleeper agent who betrayed Wonder Woman and the Amazonians in the name of Nazi Germany, and Wonder Woman was forced to kill him for his treachery.
This once change completely shifted Wonder Woman from then on. She still became a hero, yes, but she was also someone who could only see the worst in humanity. Completely unlike main universe Wonder Woman, who never loses faith in the best that mankind is capable of being. So when Superman crossed that line, killed Joker, and started down his road of wanting to control humanity, it did NOT take much convincing for Wonder Woman to hop on board, since she already views humanity as inherently treacherous and ugly. And it's also why she consistently encourages and brings out Clark's worst impulses whenever he shows any moment of weakness on his path. She manages to convince herself that she's being who Clark needs her to be, and can't accept that her love for Superman and distrust of mankind has turned her into the villain of the story.
And no, this doesn't EXCUSE or JUSTIFY her actions in helping lead Superman into the monster he becomes (even if I think he probably would have ended up there anyway). But it does explain why this Wonder Woman is SO different from the main one, especially considering that the rest of the Justice League is pretty similar to their main universe counterparts even AFTER they pick their sides.

Injustice Wonder Woman had an inverse introduction to the 'world of man' than most other Wonder Women, her introduction was to the worst side of Mankind(a spy for the Axis rather than a soldier for the Allies.). This caused her to completely flip, view mankind as a toxic people who needed to be kept in control, rather then a people struggling to do good against the few bad, thus needing a beacon to lead them.
The Sad fact, is that all that justification of her ending up like that came in the comics years later, instead of story shorts in the game. She was really just evil for the sake of making the current situation to make sense, because if she wasn't, then Superman wouldn't have been able to win.

Batman didn't want to kill anyone even if it's absolutely necessary (*cough*Joker*cough), while Superman would ultimately go on to murder Billy Batson for back-talking and then slaughter thousands of people for their perceived ingratitude.
But you're on the dot for WW though, she didn't have the right moral character to wield her power properly, and the fact that this was all started partially because of her crummy love life with Steve Trevor makes her actions all the more petty and reprehensible.

Diana killed him and believed all men of the world to be evil liars.
Even tho she was influencing Superman, Superman’s actions are his own he chose to follow Diana’s advice rather than be rational at the time. But a counterpoint for this is Superman suffered a great tragedy and that would fuck up someone mentally for life.
And here’s an interesting bit in Injustice 2 Scarecrow points out that her biggest fear is being the villain of this story. To top it off this shows in her conscious she believes what she’s doing it wrong.

But imagine that what the real Wondy said was true about her counterpart but in a more horrifying way. Diana's would would pause, she would take difficulty trying to process everything, everything else would be muffled. And in the next instant Wondy would showcase a VERY VERY primal rage that you never see in her too often and KILLING WONDY BUT TAKING IT TOO FAR BY STABBING INJUSTICE WW REPEATEDLY LIKE AN UNCONTROLLABLE LION.

Not part of the video but I adore how in this scene you could see everyone fleeing the room was scared, even the guards. At that moment there were no prisoners, nor guards, just mortal men in the room of a "god" and one of the only people capable and willing of standing against him.

It feels like to me that this is a way too common occurrence for Diana. In a lot of media that's essentially the heroes losing a big battle, or everything going to shit, Wonder Woman quickly becomes a villain in some regard.

Superman, if you watched, the Netflix series Flash, is like Deegan. Ww didn't made him kill Shazam, joker, or the prisoners, he lost his soul. he changed totally and became tyrant. But injustice Ww (the bad one ) was villian in her heart from the beginning. Well, superm an is adult, he's responsible for his actions too.

I like how Injustice Wonder Woman is done because it’s realistic she is like how women have been in power throughout most of history.
Women have never had the power or respect to directly rule by themselves everyone from Cathrine The Great to Queen Victoria to the penultimate Emperor of China were all women who took and kept power through supporting and manipulating the strongest men in their world.
It’s a more realistic view on female villains similar to Lady Macbeth than a woman who is just stronger than the hero because plot

I have this idea of the story of Injustice 3. It sets place in another earth (not the good heroes of the first game) where Luthor ruined Batman's life, killing Gordon, Alfred, and Jason Todd. Batman would seemingly "kill" Luthor and Wonder Woman suggested they he needed time for himself to grieve. But all that did is leave Batman into a tyrannical path, leading him to take over the earth and reach out to the original Injustice Superman and Wonder Woman. The new Wonder Woman would be riddled with guilt and self-loathing for not talking to his Bruce sooner. So when she sees Injustice Wonder Woman, she goes full-blown berserk (like Three Houses Dimitri), intending to kill only her counterpart.

While the first Injustice had Wonder Woman be more of a secondary villain, she definitely showed to be the main villain in Injustice 2 as she put in Superman’s head of taking down Batman and had the worst ending in the arcade mode along with Darkseid. It would really be interesting to see Wonder Woman become the actual true main villain if we ever get an Injustice 3
