I've just graduated and am rlly struggling as most places require previous experience and a Law degree. But i have a Criminology degree. This helped me a lot so thank you!!!
Thank you for the video. I sent over 1000 applications in this time and have not had success. No paralegal experience. 4 years of executive assistant position in israel but no law expertise. Washington DC is VERY competitive. This video and people like you are very helpful
I'll be beginning my masters studies in September this year and I was feeling overwhelmed since I've heard how difficult it is to land a training contract or a paralegal role in the UK. This was extremely insightful! Thanks :)
Hi Gordon, could you plaease type in the names of the recruitment agencies that you mentioned in the video? Also, an amazing video! Superb and very informative! Thanks in advance!
Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I have a question for you. Is it necessary to do a OISC LEVEL 1 course to find a junior or trainee role if none experience? Also is it possible to find hybrid or remote role?
Hey, great video! Most of the people I see who are future/current trainee solicitors got their offer from a vacation scheme and not from applying directly for a training contract. Why is this? Reply from yourself would be much appreciated 👍
Thanks Gordan for this insightful video. I just had a query. Is it alright to apply to paralegal work in immigration or land conveyance laws, as my work experience and specialisation are in IP and arbitration. This becomes a hinderance for me because I sometimes don't have the requisite background for the roles. It would be helpful if you could provide some suggestions. Also, would you also recommend looking at paralegal roles beyond London, in places such as in Essex, Kent, hertfordshire?
I think if you have a justification as to why you apply and can convince the interviewers then that should be fine. Of course, any sort of paralegal experiences can be helpful regardless of locations!
@@GordonChung Thank you for this suggestion. This is really helpful. Another follow up question. What timeframe would you recommend to apply to these paralegal roles. I generally don't see a start date for them. Should I start applying in maybe August as I graduate in October from my LLM or should I start applying to these roles now !
Thank you so much. This is exactly what I needed.
Glad that this helps :)
It's tough to find a paralegal role, but your boy is here rooting for you. Like/share it with your friends if you find it useful!

Thank you Gordon, it's truly not easy getting a paralegal role with no legal work experience. Thanks for the video. Very informative.
Happy to hear that!

Please can you make videos on: "London Lawyer: A day in my life" and "Working in a london law firm: What to expect". Just my suggestions.

I think it’s just the fact that there are also more vacation scheme applicants and not all firms recruit trainees mainly from direct TC applications
you're appreciated
🙏
Great video!
Thanks!
Cheers Gordon, ya legend.

I think it depends on you, sometimes recruiters need paralegals for as short as one week or even days for a short-term project
@@GordonChung Oh alright. Thank you for this insight !!
No worries
Is it possible you can share in the comments the recruitment agencies you suggested?
did you attend open days/law fairs, etc?
Yes I attended lots of them before I got my TC
Thank you so much!
Hope it’s helpful.
@@GordonChung it really is as I’m currently hunting for a placement! :)
How early should one apply for paralegal role? Like how much time in advance?
I think as soon as you graduate - as an LLB is normally still required unless it’s just an internship.
Are you studying at the university of law before?
No, I studied at bpp
👍👍👍

You are from HK?
Yes
