People like you are always welcome in Mexico. Thanks for the credit to my country and Baja California Sur state; and of course to the friendly Baja Californian people. In some other videos, they didn´t even mention that is in Mexico where the whales spent their nursing time, they are protected because we are committed to keeping and preserving this nature jewel for oncoming generations.

Amazing. I took a group of hard-core bikers on a road trip to Cabo. I really had to work hard time convincing them to go see the whales.
When we finally got out in the boats and some of the guys got to touch the whales, I actually saw a few of them with tears in their eyes, it's very moving and emotional.

THANK YOU for sharing such a great vlog. When I was 17, myself, my Dad and my step family (8 of them) all went to southern California for Christmas. We took a trip to SeaWorld. I needed to just sit as I was not used to so much family energy. I found an empty amphitheater to take a break, a dolphin pitched a ball at me and squawked. I was so thrilled and threw it back to it. We did this about a half dozen times and the trainer came out and said that he was bored and thanked for playing his game. The trainer kindly asked that I stopped and to give him, the trainer, the ball back. I walked to the edge of the pool and said thanks for the great memory. The dolphin clicked and whistled at me. My family did not believe me, but I didn't care - best feeling in the world to be appreciated and recognized.

I echo your praise of Pachico's specifically for this whale experience. We were treated with such care when we stayed with them in March this year. They are legit ecotourism operators compared with some of the other options that are newer to the area and not always respecting the community that's been there for generations with stewardship at their heart. Victoria was an amazing guide, Adriana was a great bartender and general resource, and the rest of the team were all fantastic! Glad you all got to have a great experience there like we did. Best vacation of my life so far! Just incredible, and I'm still beaming weeks later.

It was great to hear about Pachico and him leading the protest against the salt mining and winning! So important to remember what great things people are capable when we work together.
Of course I cried too, when you guys were interacting with the whales, it was so special! As a kid we used to see dolphins very close to us from our little motor boat and once I got the opportunity to touch one that came up right beside me. It wasn't like your experience though, they mostly just wanted to ride our bow waves, but it was so cool watching them having fun!

Amazing video. What a wonderful experience that will last a lifetime. I worked for a few weeks on an island off the west coast of Scotland. Tractor and trailer was the mode of transport from the house I lodged at to our working station. One glorious evening I decided to forgo the trailer and baled seat to walk over the hills on my return trip. At the very top of the sheer clifftop a Golden Eagle rose a few feet away from me and as it passed above me I could hear the effortless, airbrush motion of its wings. I turned my head in awe as it soared away without a second glance at me. A treasured moment. Thanks for reminding me of it.

Great film. Alex's reaction to seeing the Osprey reflected mine when I first went to Portugal and started seeing Storks everywhere. Thought I'd entered Jurassic Park. I'm so glad to see something positive coming out of Mexico. All the news has covered over the last decade is drug wars and mass killings. It's encouraging to see the Baja developing some amazing tourist attractions.

My wife has long suffered from motion sickness. The most amazing product we have used to beat it is called "Kwells." Our daughter first found it in Australia (the tour operators taking folks out to see the Great Barrier Reef recommended), and she brought some back with her. Because the active (and effective) ingredient is disfavored in many countries, it can be a bit hard to find. But if you run across any, buy all you can afford to stock up. It really is a miracle for folks like my wife (and Emma).

The Osprey, Vultures and Pelicans just arrived to my area to spend the Spring & Summer here before leaving in the Fall. The Gray Whales pass our coast going up to Alaska before heading back down to Baja to have their babies. I have been on Whale watching boats here but they are migrating so you can’t get right up to them and touch them. Love the place you stayed at - worth the $$ as they seem very eco minded and careful around the whales. Awesome vlog this week 🐳

When I was fishing off the old Seven Mile Bridge in the Florida Keys, I had a green sea turtle surface right in front of me. And while in the Oconaluftee section of Smokey Mountains National Park, a full herd of elk crossed right in front of my car. Those were the two most powerful (positive) interactions I've had with wildlife.

Fifty years ago, on the Oregon Coast, I climbed down on some rocks next to the water, where two grey whales were scraping barnacles off. I couldn't touch them like you did, but I could smell their breath and I am sure they knew I was there. It was pretty special. They have since fenced those rocks off, to prevent people being washed away by the waves (I was there on a very calm day).

I was in Benalmadena, Spain, numerous times. They have a very beautiful marina, and for 10 euros you can go on a boat trip out into the sea (Mediterranean) and see dolphins in the wild. They actually get close to the boat and swim in front of it or along the side. That was the special moment for me, seeing real wild dolphins. There was a dolphin mum with a baby ^_^

First was watching a single lioness hunt a zebra for 45 minutes only for her to fail and walk past our lorry. Such an incredible experience - you won't ever get over it. In 2009 we went to Tonga and were snorkelling with humpbacks - again, very tightly regulated and strict rules as its the only place in the world you can/could snorkel with them. We were bobbing around and a mother and calf swam below us and the baby (was a wee 6 or so metres - mum was about 12 or 15) looked me directly in the eye. I was amazed and wanted to communicate with it and so (being horizontal on the water) I clapped my arms together 3 times as I was looking in its eye. It watched me carefully then rolled on its back and clapped its flippers together 3 times. I have goosebumps even now thinking about it. Most magical moment of our lives - and we've got married since then - didn't top it !

How wonderful and completely other....the landscape and wildlife is so different from anything I have experienced (Although I have seen a hummingbird) it's great to see that the Save The Whale campaign in the 80's bore fruit!

    Wow that was incredible.
I know exactly how your feeling, I have had that experience twice in my life time, both times with dolphins.
They are incredible playful and inquisitive. When they look straight into your eyes it’s like their looking into your soul.
Just like you, both times I sobbed my heart out.
That was just amazing to watch.
    Thank you 💕💕💕

Excellent video. Whales are just beautiful & they just want to seem to share the space. I can see why you were moved as that whale seems to know your predicament. I just pretended there was something in my 👁 when watching.

How lovely guys🐋😊. So glad you had such a fabulous, moving, intimate experience 🐳😊.
ANIMAL EXPERIENCES: I did orca whale watching off Vancouver Island. They came up close to the boat. And we saw loads of bald headed eagles. Then we saw humpback whales in the Caribbean off the Dominican Republic. But my best whale experience was humpback whales in Hervey Bay Australia. They came up under the boat and jumped next to the boat etc. They literally rocked the boat. It was amazing!. In New Zealand I wanted to do whale and dolfin watching/swiming at Kakoura on the south island, but I didn't have time. But I had a great dolfin watching experience in the Bay of Island, north Island. We were supposed to swim with them, but they had babies so we couldn't. But it was still amazing.
Close encounters with these animals is beautiful. I would love to go there in Mexico.
Experiences are so important when traveling... Because they stay with you decades down the line🤗. After backpacking/traveling all over the world, although my stomach churned at the cost of experiences at the time, I knew I would not regret it after getting back home or later down the line... And I never have! Whether it was black bears in Canada, swimming with sharks in the Bahamas, or seeing all the crazy Australian wildlife. I hope once my kids are older, I will still be fit enough to travel again.. With or without my kids.

You can see/touch grey whales in Guerrero Negro as well. There’s at least 2 great tour companies to choose from - Mario’s and Malarrimo. The lagoon, Ojo de Liebre, is the main nursery for grey whales. Our panga is usually surrounded by six or more whales and you can see dozens breaching on the horizon and nearby

Wow!! What a beautiful beautiful video.. Thanks so much Alex and Emma for sharing such a heart warming experience... Odie and I had tears in our eyes when the whale came up to you when you were feeling so horrible. Hey I know what it feels to be sea sick. Any way... you guys are always such a wonderful inspiration for us. Been watching for years... you feel like family.. but seriously you guys are truly our favourite vloggers.

Just found your U-Tube show recently and I love it! I am almost 50 and want to just jump off a cliff and join you. And this American is very sarcastic. If you want more of us, try the upper East Coast of the country. ;) Looking up Pachicos now...

Emma, here's a tip - when you feel seasick, don't try not to vomit, just go for it, because it does actually make you feel better. And of course drink lots of water. ^_^

I had an amazing experience with Humpback Whales in Alaska. Witnessed them coming together to "bubble net" feed. Nature is SO amazing!
Y'all need to witness the Aurora Borealis. I saw the light show in Norway. At the top of my list of life experiences.

Wow 🤩 that must have been incredible! Humpbacks are so fascinating.. really hope to see them someday
And as for the aurora borealis - agreed! It’s been on our bucket list for too long! Hopefully we’ll be able to make our way up there in our van someday soon!
