Hey Grumpy, you’d never eat to do things the way everybody else does! I learned that about you last year. I like your style! I also noticed the welcome mats on the steps! I don’t have starlink, won’t get it either, don’t need it. Working is over rated. They took all the fun out of it years ago. I’m retired I’m really glad to see that you made another video, that lets me know your still alive!
How does it do with snow melt with the extra distance? The 150’ POE is already beyond the standard spec I think. I need to go ~200’ and keep up with North Idaho winter.
Great video! Exactly what I needed because I have to put my dish about 275 feet away to clear all the trees. Question on your drain wire. I can't see from the video, but is your drain wire coming out of the factory Starlink 5e cable? Or did you connect a drain wire to the metal end of the RJ45 connector? And, could you have attached the drain wire to the lighting rod ground (dish side), instead of the house side? In case the house side ground is not as easily accessible?
You mention American made cat 6E cable but the amazon link for the cable states country of origin as China. Can you confirm this is the cable (amazon link) that does work
Great video! One question, are you running your Starling on 120 VAC or did you convert it to run on 12 VDC? I'll apologise in advance if you answered this in a previous video. Keep the great content coming when you have it and are able. Thanks for what you do!
Interesting you mentioned using T-Mobile 5G, if you can get it. We got the TM 5G while waiting on the Starlink hardware. In your opinion should I return the SL equipment? My biggest usage is to work remotely. TM 5G isn’t the best I’ve ever had, but I’d heard raves about SL so I ordered it. Thoughts?
Great video. Can you provide the manufacturer info for the shielded factory wire you used? Also, what pass through did you use (the one with blue plastic). Last question, did you put a shielded RJ45 for them starlink cable? Thank you in advance! Best of luck with them bears.
@@dractul Sure hope it helps. There is an Esty link I provided where a guy will make your connections. It's actually cheaper than buying all the needed tools . I don't know the guy or have I used his services. But just remember you can't go over 300ft and 250ft at the outer limits.

Ha those welcome mats are for the bears. The trees are dropping acorns. So they are out roaming around.
Nice Job and glad to see you again.
Welcome back, missed your videos !
Thank you so much
I love the video, post when you can.

It does fine
Why do you emphasize CAT 6e? I’ve read that 6a has better data transmission. Thanks in advance.
You read wrong. 6e is better. Its a higher standard
It’s what I read. The person who wrote what I read, may be wrong.
Good to see you, MC! Hope all is well. Really miss your fact checks on FB! This is a crazy world we're living in these days.
Hey you! I hope you are VERY well!
@@GrumpyMountainMan Hanging in there. Thinking that living off the grid may not be a bad idea soon! 🤣

To keep it simple. You only attach one splice end to the ground not both splice ends

Order from Nassau National

It's on 120vac. It pulls 50 constant watts.
@@GrumpyMountainMan Thanks for the quick response!
Thanks so much! Totally agree with you.
Thanks for watching!

You can travel easy with T mobile correct?
Yes, it can be used when traveling. We haven’t tried it yet.
The Etsy link doesn’t work, do you have another link or someone you recommend?
I wound up splicing my own
Would you be interested in doing mine for pay?
Why is the video so blurry? Did you put Vaseline on the camera lens?
Privacy issues..
But really done so dickheads would ask questions
Lol

All that info is in the description with links where to purchase.
@@GrumpyMountainMan I was on my phone and didn't see it! Thanks for the reply, much appreciated.
