Studded tires heat alot more. No amount of snow will keep them cool enough. Also speeds in this year's rally have been really fast doesn't really help at all.
Yeah but in 2020 for example in Rally Sweden they had almost no Snow and Ice, which should ve been even harder than this. But that was before they used Pirellis.
@@wendelinspegel2842 there must be alot of corrupt cucks in the FIA who lobby pirelli for every FIA sanctioned series. there can be no other explanation. they suck so bad. even their consumer tires are mid tier but cost like top tier. I used work in a tire shop and we ultimately refused to continue our partnership with pirelli, just because their quality issues were so severe that it impacted the income of the company ,because pirelli refused to reimburse for the labor when we had to replace warrantied tires. so we spent time replacing warrantied tires while we could've been doing something that actually brings in money.

@@icebox9093 no, they do drive with rally studded tires on tarmac, and when they drive by on opposite lane you will get alot of rock chips on windshield or front...
This is completely unacceptable from Pirelli. We re talking about top level rallying, with speeds exceeding 180kph.. You just CAN'T have that. It's not a one time thing, it has already happened in three different crews. The conditions are typical for a Swedish rally and the high speeds are very well known. The tires are supposed to be tested in these conditions and this faulty tire behaviour is something that should have been predicted. Except of ruining a crew's race, they re also playing with people's safety..
That's Pirelli and their "patented inlaid stud lamination". If that happened to Ogier we all know how furious he would've been. We need Michelin back, at least their tyres didn't unexpectedly fail this much causing unnecessary harm to the competition
Im wondering if the temperatures have caused it. -19 this morning. Cooled then warmed rapidly caused the bond to fail. Perrelli perhaps haven't tested them done that low.
@@ljt3084 Fair point, until we take into account the size of the operation and that this is motorsport at the top level with a huge audience. Sure, this isn't getting the funding and audience of F1 for example, but still, this is THE TOP LEVEL of rallying so having subpar tires is ridiculous, especially because Michelin before them had very few problems. Of course the new cars have more power, but these tires are specifically made for this and should not fail without a clear reason like a major slash to the sidewall
That's a very strange issue they're having with these tyres. Can't be due to over heating now can it ? Probably a construction fault or could it be a tyre pressure issue ? There will be some explanations required from Pirelli. However, it's really bad luck for CB & EP !
The failure being on the same make of car tells me it could be a particular setup characteristic. 7:24 Pressure, wheel alignment, ect., that the team is running. Just a thought, this happened with F1 and the solution was to raise minimum tire pressures and maximum camber settings for the remainder of the season.
Typical thing to happen with retreaded tyres. My old car came with such and felt real sketchy at high speeds, would not risk going over 120 km/h with that technology.
For all people saying Pirelli is at fault, I've seen pictures of people driving the rally that look more like gravel rallyes than snow. Now wonder that the studs fail.
Pirelli has left the chat
Like all Italian with snow and ice ... ;)
Seems like too fast roads for Pirelli.
i rather watch rally drivers fix their own cars with duct tape than a F1 race
amen
...I dont remember delaminated Tires being a problem in Sweden. Also damn, I hoped for a good Rally for Lappi and Taka.

Pirellis just suck, so many issues with tires after the switch.

And now the same thing happened to Ott.

Same for Ott now
Pirelli doing what they can do best. Ott had same issue on the next stage. Who will be the next one to suffer?
excuse my ignorance, but are the roads between special stages covered in snow too? how can they travel between the stages on the studded tires?
Studded tyre is very commonly used as a regular winter tyre in Sweden, Norway, Finland and other countries.
@@Aistlander thank you for that info but won’t the studs get damage driving on tarmac?
Haven't been there. But i wouldnt be surprised if there is no tarmac between the stages.

Wonder if Pirelli are liable for any damage caused by defective tyres?

@@-psykonaut- Well now Pirelli has some questions to answer. Thanks. ✌️
They used to be Q = max 160km/h...
(not on the Toyotas?? )
Best reporters
that tyres can buy in public market,,i think nice solution for the winter😁😁😁come on lapy u can do it
Not a good idea to let Italians develop winter tires.
Had a Michelin tyre two weeks ago that looked the same.
This tyre problems have some ???
I like the tyre lappi (🤣)
That’s an odd situation, delamination is rare

I keep expecting the presenter to try and sell me a loaf of hovis!
Sadly Tanak have this problem too on ss14 👎 Pirelli.
why is he whispering?
These Pirelli tyres just ain't it chief...
The tyres ran out of glue
Classic Pirelli.

Ill take How many delams Pirelli make in a season for $500 Alex
2025- Rev limiter at 160km/h
Ott should use Master or Vallai tyres instead. Long time experience with such laminated technology.
Double tip lamp 🤣
sad for lapp
Noooo
Pirelli 😡😡
