My sister-in-law had colon cancer, many years ago. She also knew that something was wrong. She just didn't feel right and kept telling her doctor that something was wrong and she kept pushing her doctor to do testing. Sure enough, she had colon cancer and was put in the hospital immediately to have the tumour removed. Luckily she insisted that something was wrong and kept pushing for testing. Because of that, they caught it early and she was able to have the tumour removed. This was over 30 years ago and she is still doing fine. So advocating for yourself is vital!

She was given 5 years, but she didn't even make it a year and a half... This world is so cruel, this is gut-wrenching and utterly devastating. Rest easily beautiful girl, your bravery and courage in the face of all this heartbreak will never EVER be forgotten.

The number of young people now being diagnosed with late-stage cancer is staggering. Of course there's always been a few young folks who get cancer, like lymphoma, which not uncommonly strikes the young, or breast cancers to which they're genetically predisposed. But we're seeing cancers which are incredibly rare to see in young people - esophageal, pancreatic, colon ca.
Add to this that it's highly unusual to see so many cancers diagnosed at such late stages. It's hypothesized that this may be bc the person, being young, has their symptoms "brushed-off," but even that can't explain this, esp. when you consider that many older folks delay seeking medical
attention out of denial & fear.
Speaking as someone who sees sick people everyday? It's just not normal to see this many unusual cancers, presenting at these late stages, and progressing this rapidly. It needs acknowledging - and looking into.

Just found out about this girl. I’ve had some concerning symptoms for about less than 2 years and would get it brushed off by the doctors. I finally have a colonoscopy appointment and am hoping for good news. It’s hard to advocate for yourself when , like Maddie said, women are dismissed for some symptoms like IBS, menopause etc. If something is happening outside the norm, keep trying to push the doctors to run tests.

kinda late but all us women/young women whoever should make sure we are getting colonoscopies whenever we feel something is wrong or just even to check every so years! just the risk of colon cancer has went up sm more these past years and in young women.

I just want to say this women is incredible ❤…I’m a 5 year cancer survivor… My heart goes out to her because I know the struggle.. I’m going to tell the words my brother told me “ don’t let your mind follow your body, think positive thoughts or your body follows your mind “ every day I wanted to give up.. I had staged 2 and 4 ( weird I know I had 2 different forms of the same cancers in my body non-Hodges lymphoma, leukemia, ugly, cousin) but I’m here to say don’t let anyone tell you can’t live.. don’t let your mind feed your body negatively… I’m here for you… ❤❤❤❤

Being positive can have such a big impact, and it's amazing how quickly Maddy decided she wasn't going to let her diagnosis get her down. For me it was something that took a long time to learn, but it's such an important lesson, and one that's still with me today. 22 year survivor here, but the first 5 were the toughest for sure. Glad to hear you made it to 5, and I hope you're doing well.
It's crazy how quickly things can change. Maddy was so full of life, and so full of joy, and she was taken far too soon. I'm sure she's touched the lives of many, many people, and her passion and positivity will live on.

@@JScaranoMusic I’m doing well thank you for asking!! This beautiful person had me crying so hard… I know she wouldn’t want us to cry tho… We have an unspoken and spoken sister hood with each and everyone one of us( brothers, sisters, cousins etc y’all are welcome too🤗).. But it’s something amazing and beautiful when you can touch someone’s soul which she has done for many.. I didn’t have anyone to understand my illness and my feelings behind it… so if anyone needs to talk or vent frustrations or yell , scream I got you🤞🏽

Madison. Wow. Thank you so much for telling your story. I am a cancer survivor 4.5 years now and this really hit home for me. I hope to meet you one day! Maybe on your podcast ;) because you should Def share other people's stories and meet other survivors and to continue to spread this positive light on life and the joy you can still have after dealing with this thing called cancer. I needed this right now. I continue to have health anxiety and worry about getting sick again. But I have the same zest for life and truly just want to live an authentic happy life. Like you are doing too. So great to hear your story. I hope we can be friends. Fuckkk cancer babbyyyyy. Also yes you are hilarious. "I think my body took a screen shot" on this episode! hahaha

What we need to be asking is why is this happening. There should be NO REASON a 26 year old should be dying from cancer. What a lovely young woman. Hoping her family finds some peace and healing.

We all have choices for sure! I had stage 1 breast cancer and feared everything, eating meat, eating anything processed food…. I am cancer free after doing surgery, radiation and now on pills aromatase inhibitors for 5 years! There are signs everywhere at treatment centres regarding smoking and drinking alcohol, that they are toxins and don’t lend themselves to healing and avoiding cancer! While it is admirable that Maddy lived the rest of her life as she did, it is definitely not for everyone!

Maddy, thanks for sharing so much of your story. It's amazing that you had such a positive attitude immediately after being diagnosed. I was diagnosed at 19 and it took me a while to learn how to be so positive, but it's such an important thing to have, and you're absolutely smashing it!
Glad you ticked another thing off your bucket list. Can't wait to see what's next!

If we could all truly LOVE AND LIVE LIKE MADDY, it would make this world less hard, no matter the hardship we are all facing. I’ve followed her a while on TT and I never would have thought I (at 42 years old) could be so POSITIVELY IMPACTED by a 25 year old that’s living with a terminal condition. Thank you for having her on your show. Thanks to Maddy, I’ve found my new favorite podcasters. The compassion and love you two have for others, and one another, is very special and needs to be shared with the world. I’ll be spreading the world🥹🫶🏼. I’d love to see a part two to this, the connection you three have is remarkable! Much love to you all❤

My dad just passed and he didn't catch it till late and it was pancreatic. This was shortly after the breakup of a relationship that I wanted to turn into marriage.
I've been going through a rough depression from both losses, but hearing Maddy talk makes me want to take advantage of the time I have instead of crying to "what was I made for" from the barbie movie.
I made a bucketlist myself, because it is so true we are all terminal.
I hope Maddy gets to finish her bucket list and I also think Maddy should consider adding meeting Stevie Knicks to her bucket list.
