Clematis experts recommend planting clematis deep, so the top of root ball is 2 or 3 inches below soil level. This helps protects the stems from harsh winter freeze.
I ordered a couple clematis that should arrive early June, but now I'm obsessed to find 'Guernsey Cream.' I would like to plant a clematis to climb into a tree. That would be spectacular!
Man! Seeing all those trees in full bloom. What a treat. My tiny Redbud has tiny buds. I can't wait for the show next month.

Hi Laura! Those clematis are really pretty and I like the areas where you planted them. Thank you for sharing!

I planted an Ernest Markham Clematis about a year ago next to the pergola that defines my front porch facing west. It’s the only one that I could find that grows in zone 10b with the color I wanted. You are very fortunate to have so many colors available. Last week I planted a Generous Gardener climbing rose from David Austin next to it. I have read that clematis and climbing roses make perfect companions. In your landscape that combination would be gorgeous!

The Gorgeous Clematis will certainly look awesome. I liked the support system for the clematis by the fence that is something we do with our blackberry vines.

Those are so pretty. I need those on an area of my fence. Great inspiration video. Gotta check and see what my local stores have. We don’t get many PW plants, shrubs or trees in any locations around here.

I was going to ask, whether you ever forgot to water anything (as your property is so large compared to the average). Then you answered the question. I guess that’s why the channel is called Garden Answer. 😆. I have trouble remembering to water everything in my garden and it’s the size of a postage stamp. 😀🌱🌻🌸🌹

Maybe set an alarm on your phone (even old phones have alarms) or water on even numbered days of the month or get those glass balls that hold water and write it on your calendar or alarm on your computer to check the ball.

@@kteaching5106 thank you. I have a few alarms already...take vitamins, take meds etc. Where would we be without alarms. I would love to set up a drip system, even though my garden isn’t huge, I do have a lot to water.

A friend of mine would add a large rock on the sunny side of the clematis to shade the roots. Seemed to work very well. Excellent video as always! 🌷

What a lovely day to plant some lovely plants. I do love the colours of these clematis. Especially the blue one. They look so delicate the look like fairy hats before they open do beautiful. Love were you planted them Laura can't wait to see them fill the area with lovely blooms.

I’d love to see a video on drip line tutorials. I have a blank canvas and want to set it up right once I start planting
