- What an absolute masterpiece. From start to finish and it's still not over yet since we have the DLC and the next part soon! This final segment happened so quick and I'm honestly happy with my final battle... still laughing I died to the road boss, but we'll chalk that up to my driving skills. There is still so much unexplained, but I'm just going to be patient and remember all in due time. This game just filled me with joy. We've opened the FF box and now nothings off the table so for the time being I can tell you we will be doing the DLC then XVI. After that, who knows, but I would love to go back to the others one day soon.
Thank you again for all the tips, tricks, and background to characters, story, history of the game, etc. It has been an absolute honor to share this playthrough with you!

Cloud is 100% one of the coolest FF characters. You were right about that.
What about Vaan and Penelo, such iconic characters !

Thank you for giving Final Fantasy a chance and showing us your wonderful personality! ❤
This Lets Play was a welcome change from other LPs. Either you see exaggerated reactions or constant looking into the chat if it was a streamed LP. I am very happy that there are still such Lets Plays. Thank you so much!
Yeah, this LP was great. I wanted to watch more LP from others but the ones I kept finding were streamed ones and it was annoying me when most of the time, they get distracted by the stream chat. It just put me out of the mood to continue watching to see their reaction to the story, which was actually entertaining when it happened. The glancing at stream chats happening so often just ruins the flow.
@@victorwonder Exactly! Mainly because there are enough games where interacting with the chat is not a problem at all. Especially in story-driven games with cutscenes, etc., I find it extremely inappropriate when people look into the chat, read out any messages, etc. Final Fantasy 7 Remake is a good example. I think many, like me, are dying to see or hear the reactions to certain moments. Moments that you already know and where you want to know how she reacts to them.
But just to be clear, I have no problem interacting with chat at all, but please not in games like this where almost everyone probably wants to see the reactions. That's why I think her decision to just play the game directly on RUclips is a very good one.
The game has 18 chapters, this playthrough has concluded in 18 episodes. what a perfect ending to this series now for the dlc
It’s always such a great feeling to see someone become a fan of FFVII. This specific world and these specific characters made me fall in love with video games back in 7th grade and here I am, 38 year old married dude waiting with baited breath for Rebirth. Looking forward to the Yuffie DLC!
The original was the first video game I played as an adult. I am 53, fwiw and I was married from 1992-2002(played no game then or really since the original Nintendo). I got it along with a PS1 back in 2002, right after my divorce, to occupy my mind in my free time. It made me fall in love with the rpg genre of video games(I did play a little DnD, back in college, in the early 90's). The other game I got with the console was The Legend of Dragoon. I would love for Sony to remake it or license it out to someone like Square to do a remake.
"Avalanche! Local Florist! Lab rat dog!" is my favorite line in the whole game 🤣 The Sephiroth fight and music is epic...I always tear up with the music. Thank you Maggie for your playthrough!💜
It's fascinating seeing you experience remake's ending having not played ff7 original. I can now understand why the writers did what they did. The game works so well even for new players. I love it.. there are SO many nuggets in this ending inferring it's NOT a remake of the original ;) but rather something even more special. Can't wait for the Rebirth!
A remake is just that, the original game remade. It has to be different or its not a remake. So many people think remake is the same as a remaster. "its not really a remake its a whole new thing"
@@udalix Personally I see this game as a remake only in title. To me it's more a sequel.
@@timothypierce5303 this guy gets it
@@udalix A remake is a game made on a brand new engine that the original doesn't run on, nothing more.
@@udalix No, a remake is the same game remade on a different engine.
Remaster: same game, same engine, has various enhancements typically in terms of graphics, audio, controls and balancing, may contain additional content
Remake: same as Remaster but remade on a different engine
Reimagine: a game remade with a different spin to it typically in the story or gameplay
Reboot: as Reimagine but more commonly used for a game series
Sequel: a new story with characters and/or a world established in a previous game and makes references to the previous game
Prequel: a Sequel that takes place prior to the previous game in the timeline and the referencing is kind of reversed
Spin-off: as Sequel but does not reference the previous game but is independent of it
Looking at FF7 Remake it falls under sequel as it clearly references FF7 original and Crisis Core.
Maggie, never have I ever been so glued to a playthrough in my life, I’ve watched the entire thing religiously over the past few weeks! FF7 has been my favourite game since I first played it back in the 90s, and seeing you experience this story and fall in love with these beloved characters has been magical…part 2 is gonna blow your mind! Sincerely, thankyou for taking us on this journey with you! :)
Thank you for tagging along on this journey!
When you asked “what are we missing”… only 90% of the rest of the original game. I can’t wait! Thanks for playing this

End of the intro. This entire game is like 1/3 of the FIRST disk of the original. There's so much story that you're going to be mesmerized by

That was just the first four hours of the first game. They added a whole bunch. It's interesting to see a fresh take. I've loved these characters for 25 years and don't plan on stopping
It's crazy watching someone play ff7 for the first time, especially when they don't know about zack and stuff, and seeing them try to figure it out. Episode 1 was the first vid I ever saw of yours and defo play on sticking around for other games! Can't wait for integrade, and I hope to see your reaction to the trailers for rebirth also! ❤
Playing the DLC? Yes plz! Glad you enjoyed the main game! Looking forward to your play through when Rebirth (Part 2) is out!
I see alot of ppl want you to play Crisis Core, and tbh it will give you some context. However, FF7’s story isn’t supposed to give you that context until later and that’s part of what makes the original so good. It’s a game full of mystery and questions that you won’t get all of the answers immediately, but when they finally come they are in big moments.
Ending explanation (without saying too much) : When they are talking about Destiny it was referring to the event of the original ff7 on ps1. Everytime you saw a whisper in this game, they were trying to keep you on track with the original game. Thats why they saved barret, and saved them on the road at the end, cause they were not meant to die there in the original. After, Aerith says they will find freedom on the otherside. You then kill the whispers and so the flow of original ff7 end and we finish the game with '' theunknown journey will continue'' which is telling the next game gonna be different from the original. I wont say anything about Zack cause you will discover him later on (or you can play Crisis Core reunion) :) I loved your playthrought! you nailed so many things I was so shocked! Can't wait for DLC :)
So happy that you're hooked into FF and will be playing the DLC and XVI! Always appreciate your thoughtful insights to the story.
5. Seeing Aerith's House... just wow...
4. The Airbuster fight
3. The opening cutscene, if I wasn't excited before that, then boy did that get me hyped.
2. The destruction of Sector 7... that whole section was intense
1. I'm not rat dog 😂
Awesome playthrough! Would advise strongly NOT playing Crisis Core until experiencing the whole FF7 story (remake trilogy or OG, whatever your pleasure is). It spoils MAJOR things in a big, bad way. Cheers!
FF16 goes so unbelieveably hard, one of the best gaming experiences I've had in a good while! Can't wait for your playthrough!
As with my first comment on your first FF7R video, apologies for the length of this but you inspired me to leave something as thorough as your playthroughs.
First off, the Ray of Judgment hitting Sephiroth during the scripted transition was the coolest thing I’ve ever seen. Usually attacks are cancelled by scripted transitions, but that one worked (and kinda glitched the game a bit with the floating Aerith).
Second, GREAT playthrough. Had me hooked for every minute like your TLOU and Walkind Dead series. I LOVE the idea of hearing your Top 5 favorite moments.
Lastly, this ending is meant to be confusing, but I have some important and spoiler-free context just to clarify things for you as a new player. Aerith kinda explains this at the end of the highway, but just to make it clearer. This won’t spoil anything about future events but rather highlight how special of a “Remake” this is.
All throughout the game, the “Arbiters of Fate” (aka “Whispers”) were making sure events happened the same way as the OG game. The Whispers were NOT in the original game. In Remake, they jumped in whenever events started to differ from the OG (hence saving Barret’s life, which Red XIII says was “not the death ordained for you by fate”).
In the end, Sephiroth convinces you to defeat the Arbiters of Fate, meaning they can no longer work to keep events exactly the same as the OG game moving forward - and there are hints that some things may have already changed - hence “The Unknown Journey Will Continue.” Neither new fans nor old fans know EXACTLY what will happen in Parts 2 or 3 because Destiny has been defeated and removed from the equation.
In short, it’s not a typical “Remake” because it is not exactly a remake of the original game. Fans theorize “Remake” means “remaking” the timeline via changes.
That means playing the original will give you a whole different context and perspective on Remake. One word of caution: Crisis Core Reunion spoils the BIGGEST twist of the original story. It seems the devs are planning for new players to know it rather than keep it as a mystery, but it really is one of the best reveals in gaming history. So just a heads up that playing Crisis Core could hurt the experience of playing the original if you ever planned to do so.
I have seen lots of first timers of Remake go back to the original despite having no plans to do so at first, simply because they HAD to see the full story - and none of them were disappointed. It’s an amazing ride with lots of twists and turns, makes this experience even better because you’ll know what’s changed, and takes about 35-50 hours depending on how much side content you do. It’s up to you and I know you haven’t played a lot of older games on the channel, but just an FYI.
kinda think it is a spoiler, though one can come to that conclusion without playing the OG as well.
Thank you so much for playing through FF7
I can not wait for her to experience what this story does rebirth is going to be bonkers!
I really like your reaction from a newcomer to the FFVII franchise. Regarding Crisis Core (CC), it came out after the original game but chronologically takes place before and the game is best played having knowledge of the previous game. In other words, you would spoil a lot of major event if you jump directly to CC. I would humbly ask you to consider waiting on CC since you are unaware of the events from the previous games and that would drastically change your reaction from part 2 and 3 of the remake and is exactly what I was looking for (newcomer perspective). Keep up the good work, can't wait to see the Intergrade playthrough :)
Yes. Highly recommend you consider the crisis core reunion play through. It will give you a better understanding of some events.
@DiminishingMoonlight I don't think you read the post. It's suggesting not to play Crisis Core, and it's correct. CC spoils the main story of FF7
@kk_33
Spoils a major plot for FF7 (1997) but possibly not for FF7 Rebirth, lol.
Without outright saying the spoiler itself, the Zack from OG FF7 is not the same Zack that’s going to be featured in FF7 Rebirth for an obvious reason that we know, lol.
I personally feel playing Crisis Core Reunión before FF7 Rebirth will add context for new players while still leaving them with the good kind of questions just like when they finish FF7 Remake.
I feel FF7 OG players issue with not wanting newcomers to play Crisis Core Reunion stems from select OG players that think the next two installments are going to be the same as FF7 (1997). And they are not.
Both newcomers and OGs have no idea what’s to come & the changes they are going to make for the next 2 parts.
@@Kixsanity I'm not making any assumptions about the next game. The creative team has made it very clear that they are going to stick to the general story of OG FF7 with some changes. What those changes are, we don't know. And thus why you shouldn't just assume that spoiling yourself to the story is OK, because those plot points will be different in the new games.
It's not just the "Zack spoiler" you're referring to that is in contention. In fact, that is minor compared to facts about other characters that are revealed in CC that are spoiled. Without going into details, Cloud specifically has important information from his past that is intentionally withheld at this point in the main story that is spoiled in CC.
@@DiminishingMoonlight Ericbelanger is correct
Sephiroth has one of the most iconic themes in video games, and it was freaking hype hearing this remixed version of the original track: One Winged Angel
Years ago I was able to attend an orchestral FF concert. One wing Angel was the final piece played!!!! So epic!!! Then they came back out and did an encore!!! Even more epic!!! So glad I was able to experience!!!
AC version is imo the best
You did extremely well against Harbinger and Sephiroth! Especially for never learning to use Punisher mode. Took me multiple tries on Harbinger then finally did it very well and took two tries for Sephiroth and barely made it at the last second with Cloud's limit. This was my first FF game to really play and complete and I loved it though I still struggled with the combat even at the end.
Yeeees, you won't regret playing the otherrrrrrrrs of the series (including and especially the OG FF7)! Also, thank you for this run, you seem to appreciate the story, which is always nice to see and you had insights on things I didn't expect, largely relating to the setting decor, which I appreciated! Also led me to discovering your channel, and it seems to be a bop! Hope you enjoy Integrade, FF16, and other games of the series that you end up playing! I'll be here to drink in allllll the reactions, observations, and decor insights!
Wow, you kicked Sephiroth's ass. Well done! I hope you enjoyed this, and I hope you enjoy the rest as it comes out. Final Fantasy VII is an amazing game. Believe me, the best is yet to come 😁
I see ppl asking for you to play CC but I think if you’re going to do that then you should play the OG first because playing CC would spoil the experience of the main ffvii story.
Just finished watching. I would say my top 5 moments were:
First of all that this was the first time I've ever watched one of your video series. The first episode of this series was the first time I'd ever seen you on youtube. I can't believe you've played so many games yet have had no exposure to this! It's been amazing seeing how much you recognize from other games and such, yet have a fresh take on this one.
Second, I loved watching you learn and grow as a player from episode to episode. You're a better gamer than I am, that's for sure.
Third it's been great seeing you make all these connections between the characters, yet miss the pretty much all of the easter eggs that were laid out for players of the original version. It shows that they were well placed so as not to spoil anything but just serve as a wink to those who have played the original.
Fourth, when you said going into the Shinra building that Berrett better not die, having played this when it first came out and being surprised myself when he 'died' (because he didn't in the original version), your reaction was so heartfelt and genuine it was almost heartbreaking to watch you go through that because as soon as it happened when I played I just immediately dismissed it as the fates will fix this because it didn't happen in the original.
Fifth actually just happened a few minutes ago right at the end of the game before the credits rolled, when you failed to make an important connection between two characters' past. I'm not gonna spoil it but it's gonna shock you all the more when you finally DO make the connection when it gets spelled out more clearly in the next game.
Last, thanks for uploading this series. I was wanting to play the game again, kind of, because I wanted to refresh myself on everything that happened, but I just don't have time to play it myself, however I can put this on my second monitor and listen/watch you while I work on data entry on my primary screen, and you've been very entertaining, and endearing to witness play this for the first time. This has been one of my all-time favorite 'let's play' series I've ever seen. I've since subscribed to your channel and look forward to watching you play other great games. I love your taste in games!
Thanks for watching and for the kind message 😭😭

I discovered your channel with this playthrough. It was a lot of fun seeing you fall in love with my favourite game.
My top 5 moments in this game are:
1. The opening scene - I was shaking with excitement the first time I saw this. It's perfection. The swelling of the music into the logo reveal still brings shivers down my spine every time I see it.
2. Chapter 9 Wall Market - The whole chapter is so well done. Favorites are the Honeybee Inn, the hand massage with Cloud's reaction after, Aerith's dress reveal and the 'I know, nailed it, moving on' when Tifa sees Cloud in the dress.
3. First day in sector 7. Walking around and finally being able to look UP at the plate after 23 years was incredible.
4. The night scene with Tifa outside Aerith's house.
5. The plate falling
Maggie. Thank you for an awesome month of videos. My top 5 favorite moments.
1. Your reaction To Aerith and questioning what she knows.
2. Your reaction to the cats.
3. Your reaction to Jessie
4. Your reaction to Barrett.
5. Your self talk through the game to understand story and characters.
My least favorite moment was that it ended. Thanks for the content. It gave me something to watch every 3 days on here.
Thanks for sharing your first time FF7 experience with us. I've been here since episode 1 and I am already excited to see you play the DLC.
While it might be tempting to try Crisis Core, I'd recommend not playing it until you have played through the original game in it's entirety and/or Rebirth (and Possibly even part 3 depending on where Rebirth ends) since Crisis Core contains a lot of spoilers for the plot points in those games and is intended for an audience who is already familiar with those events.
Thanks again for this let's play, it's been awesome and I look forward to more of your content.
People are telling you to play crisis core reunion but I think it’s better if you don’t since it kinda spoils a big part of the main game that would’ve been a surprise. You should play the DLC then wait for part 2 in march.
The final chapter had so much nuance to it that it really does fly by to anybody missing some of the easter eggs and references dropped all over it. There are just literally so many.

Also, you did say in the video that you want to play some of the other Final Fantasy titles. I think you'd enjoy 10, but I really think you would like 9. They are updating it and doing a remake (not on the scale of 7, but majorly updated) which I think you should wait for. Pretty much every Final Fantasy is it's own contained setting, story, and characters save for a few sequel/mini-series. I would NOT play crisis core, which got remade last year. It's gives some major backstory that I think you'll enjoy those revelations in 7 Rebirth as they happen to get your genuine reactions.

people seem to like 10 a lot. personally didnt really enjoy it (freaking hate tidus, but isnt the only reason). would recommend 7,9,12,16 from the 3d era.

@@hullmees666I think for a lot of people the slower pace and themes ff10 hit pretty hard. I found Tidus annoying in a typical pompous teen way but really enjoyed his character development. I found his childhood relatable and kind of admired his fortitude for dealing with the crazy he got plopped into. Though really Yuna is the star of that game.
FF9 on the other hand was a a little hard for me to follow and I loathed Zidane's character from the beginning and it didn't help that some of the character aspects I disliked the most for him and the leading lady got rolled into game play "protect girls" and "girl is too sad to concentrate" being the most annoying of the bunch.

@@rabidrobbieit's a mess, but I get why people love it (hint: its the cheery himbo with a big sword)
Chapter 18 of Remake might make more sense after playing Crisis Core Reunion, at least in terms of who Zack is and his relationships with some of the other characters. Plus, I think the fact that SquareEnix released Crisis Core Reunion last year means they are not too concerned with spoiling the new players that never played FF7 OG. Of course, some people probably view the confusion as part of the charm of the original FF7. But I think of Remake is a sequel, not a like-for-like remaster of the original FF7
I loved your playthrough. Thank you so much.
It's just such a shame you never learned to use Cloud's core ability - blocking in Punisher Mode. The game is so much more fun with it.
Don’t do crisis core yet. Being a prequel it actually spoils the biggest twist in parts 2 and 3. Your such a unique perspective having no experience with the OG that I think it would be fun to see your blind reactions for the next part.
Does it really? Since I can't get this game on Xbox but can get Crisis Core, I was hoping to at least play that one until I get an PS5.
devs have actually encouraged people to play crisis core reunion, cause the "biggest twist" we all know wont be the biggest anymore. the remake trilogy is made for new and old players so imo (as someone who started with remake) i don't think it's a bad idea at all to play crisis core. it would make going through the second and third game a much more meaningful experience knowing the background of certain important characters.
@@jjurinsgfmakes sense. Plus, everyone should play through Zack's story~
@@locochoify No, it doesn't. I've played the original FF7, watched Advent Children, played Dirge of Cerberus, and played Crisis Core. If you want to get the most out of the FF7R trilogy, you should play through both Crisis Core and the original FF7. There's a huge amount of FF7 Remake's story that is impossible to understand without knowing what's in those two stories, and knowing that context makes the "Unknown Journey" *more* exciting, not less exciting. There's a reason that fans of the original can't wait to see what happens next.
I disagree this is a reimagining of the original story so Crisis Core gives better context to the story they are telling now. That why they released it remastered before part 2. It’s essential before playing part 2.
And for me it has been an honor to enjoy this adventure watching your playthrough, I patiently wait for your upload and then have a free time to relax and watch it.
I have a very important WARNING if you intend to play the other ff7 games.
By all means, i know that some are requesting it, but NEVER EVER play crisis core BEFORE the the original.
You absolutely need to play the OG game before Crisis core, as the latter as a MAJOR Spoiler on a character storyline and probably the biggest mistery in the game.
It would be terrible to play Crisis core before as it would take all the charm from OG.
I'd totally recommend to play in this order:
1) FF7 Remake DLC
2) FF7 OG
3) FF7 Crisis Core
4) FF7 Remake 2 (Rebirth)
Maybe do FF7 remake hard mode after FF7 Crisis Core. Would be interesting to see the reaction to the things that didn't make sense or had double-meanings that you wouldn't catch if you didn't play the OG.
Honestly mate one of the most enjoyable play throughs iv watched of any game, can’t wait to see what else you play
Top favorite moments in no particular order:
Cloud comforting Tifa in the garden at Aeris house ( I know they say Aerith in the OG it was Aeris apparently a mistranslation but it stuck with me )
Tifa saving cloud from falling off the building. (She's my girl)
Cloud in a dress. Just all of that
Getting to know more about Wedge biggs and Jessie
Aeris saying " So what screw him " About sephiroth to cloud.
Well this is a first for me. I watched an entire plathrough from episode 1 to the end and I'll be back for more.

Not sure if anyone has already mentioned it but RUclipsr Strange Rebel Gaming is the voice over actress for Aerith. She also has posted vids of her playing this game.
I've never seen anyone beat this game without once using Cloud's Punisher Mode counter attack on block.
I did the first time because I didn’t understand how it worked I thought it was like a timing parry 😂
Great playthough and I'm glad you enjoyed! Thank you for sharing your FFVIIR journey with us.
My top 5:
1) The opening cinematic sets the stage for the game perfectly, I must've watched the trailer 100 times in anticipation of the game release
2) The VR simulation in the Shinra building that explains the ancients + gets hijacked by "Sephiroth"
3) The English VA's were amazing from top to bottom (I haven't given the Japanese cast a chance yet, probably on my next [4th] play through)
4) The writing/localization teams really nailed the dialogue and character interactions (although the Wutai stuff didn't come across as cleanly as I think they intended)
5) Expansion of the Biggs/Jessie/Wedge characters compared to the OG
Top 5 moments from your play through:
5) Lab rat dog.
4) Reaction to the whole Cloud dance-off sequence/most of Wall Market, really.
3) Barrett’s fake death had you balling your eyes out.
2) Five seconds later his resurrection gave you so much joy!
1) Your determination to win in the gym mini-games. 😂
This play through brought me joy. Thanks Maggie! ❤
The few cutscenes where they looked noticeably different were pre rendered cutscenes (as opposed to in-engine). And I believe in the case of this game they were outsourced (a rare move for Square). You can tell which ones are pre rendered and which ones aren't by looking at their weapons. Normally in cutscenes the weapon reflects the weapon you are actually using. But in the prerendered cut scenes they all use their original weapons (Buster Sword for Cloud, Gatling Gun for Barrett etc).
Enjoyed watching your playthrough!! You made me appreciate things i didnt notice in my play through with your attention to detail and curiousity to explore the world with a sense of wonder. I LOVE ff7, and appreciate it even more now because of you 😊
The best part of it being an unknown journey is that players old and new are just as in the dark for what's to come. We are all in uncharted territory now.
Crisis Core is an interesting subject here. Crisis Core is a huge spoiler to the OG FF7 so it is also potentially a spoiler for FF7R as well. I would suggest a little caution. Unless you play OG FF7 first - which would then change a lot of your perspective on FF7R.
Thanks for the great playthrough!
I don't think that they would have released reunion before rebirth if it was a huge spoiler for remake. You are right that crisis core is better after OG, but i'm not so sure about it with remake timeline
I know you probably get a lot of recommendations, but you should play FF X. It's such a beautiful and touching experience. The best game i have ever played.

Just promise us you'll be posting videos of rebirth as soon as it comes out. Would love to participate in a live stream, too
I'd like to play Rebirth as soon as it comes out! The playthroughs uploaded on this channel are not livestreamed. I play these games on my own while recording my reactions and gameplay!!
@@Kastaclysm either way, you're killin it. Thanks for your uploads.
@@Kastaclysm It is so refreshing seeing playthroughs like yours without all the endless distractions of livestream alerts and watching the streamer stare at chat and miss so much dialog between the characters.
play the original. It's a different game than this. That's what this game did. It changed fate. literally.
I’m glad you loved it! Being 13 years old, and playing the original back in ‘97 forever changed my thoughts on what video games could be. It’s still one of my favorite games of all time.
That being said, if you loved this story, I really hope you play the next two. I also can NOT recommend Final Fantasy 16 enough. The story in that game was also incredible, and reminded me of 7 a lot.
Hit the like if you have watched the reaction more than 5 times? I can't get over Maggie's reaction to Zack. Absolutely priceless.
Wonderful to watch your playthrough! From start to finish I knew I had to stick around. I recommend not watching the trailers for Rebirth until you have beaten the DLC.
Congrats on completing(technically) your first final fantasy game! Cliffhangers. And many more 🎉
Yay, thank you!
Your attention to detail, skill at picking up the game's combat mechanics, and compassion with which you engaged the game's story and worldbuilding at every turn have made this such an enjoyable playthrough to follow. Thanks so much and I will definitely be there when you go through the Intergrade DLC as well as FF7 Rebirth in 2024. If you're going to play Crisis Core, I would recommend doing it after Rebirth, I think?
Idk how much you want to know about all that craziness in the ending, but for a player new to ff7 its so easy to be confused on a first playthrough 😅 (i certainly was! 😆) but the metatextual meaning of the whispers and what sephiroth (and potentially aerith?) knows and was getting cloud to do in this game was so fascinating to me and leaves us in a wide open place in terms of where it might go from here 👀 bring on rebirth!!!
the first 2-3 hours of the original, masterfully expanded upon
The DLC is so damn good.
There's also Reunion which is a remaster of the game Crisis Core. It's primary focus is Zack (the character with Cloud at the end of this game), Aerith, Cloud, and Sephiroth. (It's around 15 hours of gameplay)
Really enjoyed this playthrough. Thank you. It is really interesting seeing someone new to the FF7 series play FF7R. It will be interesting to see an FF7 Rebirth playthrough with only the knowledge gained from playing FF7R & its DLC, but avoiding FF7 spoilers can be tricky.
Thanks again. I really did enjoy it.
Glad you enjoyed it!
So pleased I stumbled across your channel as you began this journey and got to follow your journey through this incredible game. I understand Twitch is your main jam so thanks so much for choosing to forgo a live audience and to devote all your focus to the playthrough. Loved your theorising, your stumbles, and your eventual mastering of the game - well, maybe not mastering, but good enough 😁
A playthrough truly up there alongside Brianna White's.
I loved this playthrough. You're such a treasure. I'm certain that you'll end up with 10m subscribers because you deserve it and carry yourself with class.
Crisis Core should be a no go for you until you witness the full story of Final Fantasy 7. It spoils too much imo.
that was THE best intro XDD
And your playthrough was really good, i'm a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to games so it's quite hard for me to watch a blind playthrough of someone i prefer speedrun but to be honest you're the only one i was able to watch without being annoyed at the gameplay, you were able to drag me on this journey and it was really fun so Thanks a lot ! :D
Not going to lie. I did not expect Barrett to be the most attractive character in the remake of this game. 90% of the budget went to his face and those eyes 🤣
Respectfully, I do get lost in his eyes
CANT WAIT! For you to get into 16!!! It is a single and complete story!!!!
You gotta do a FF7 OG playthrough now!
Ff7s universe is just wonderful. It has such spiritual depth to it. Gonna be awesome to see how you're gonna figure out the story without og's context. I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt, that this story is gonna impact you in a profound way just as it did to us in 1997.
Thank you so much for sharing your journey with us! I really enjoyed your commentary and reactions and your assumptions were so enjoyable to hear. Thank you for sharing this part of your life with us. It was a very fun experience. I can't wait to see your next videos.
2:01:38 This scene is so heavy when you understand the context later on
I lost it at that part.
My favorite part of the game…because…possibilities.
'I miss the steel sky'
It's been a joy to see your playthrough for this first installment! There's so many questions that can't be answered without spoiling... everything! But I'll eagerly be awaiting for the next game to come out and for you to play it!
I had a great time reliving the game with you. The music in Sephiroth's battle still give me chills.
I just finished. Awesome . Thanks for the play through.
Maggie, honestly it’s been a pleasure to watch you make your way through this game. What a splendid human and we can’t wait for the next lot ❤
Seeing you get emotional towards the end of that game hit me a bit. Can't wait for you to see more of the game. There is so much more to come, get yourself ready!
Don't worry if the ending doesn't make any sense yet, unless you've played the original or crisis core you'll have no idea what the hell is going on. But i'm sure it will all be explained in time. Amazing play through and i am already looking forward to the DLC and Rebirth.
You are like a FF character yourself, so I'm glad you dived in here. Have a nice weekend ;-)
Hello Maggie! Man this makes want to play this game again! I love your concentration and observation on the characters and story analysis. Keep it up 👍
Would love to see your reaction to the original FF7 at some point. Loved this playthrough.
It's funny you mentioned David Bowie, he was a big inspiration for Tetsuya Nomura, who originally designed the characters.
Cloud was actually based a lot on Leonardo DiCaprio if you look at some of his older artwork books you can see it. He even sent a young fan a picture of Cloud with the Buster Sword dressed up like Jack from the Titanic (which they took a lot of inspiration from) down to the hand touching scene with Cloud and Aerith to her Red Dress scene. There’s a lot of fun little nods.
That part got me. But I have to admit. The Goblin King was super terrifying to me as a kid and still today. So it checks out.
17:25 the disappointment in her voice 🤣😂 i cant 🤣😂
Your experience with this game truly mirrored my own back in 2020. I had no idea what to expect, got it on a whim on release because a few friends made me play the demo when the game had not even been on my radar... and I absolutely fell in love with the characters, story and the gameplay
1:35:23
THANK YOU! I knew I was't losing my mind when I was playing this the first time around and consequent playbacks lol. They have more Asian features in that cut scene for whatever reason vs every other one
Let's go! I am so ready for this video. I never played the original FF7 so I am curious to see another perspective to see if I missed anything story-wise 😂 Thanks for the amazing playthrough and great commentary
People are commenting that she did the whole playthrough without Punisher Mode (haven’t used that much either on my first run), but I’m more amazed at the fact she never used Arcane Ward with Aerith. The double casting is so OP!!!
That sound you just heard was the sound of a million FF7 veterans' brains exploding at the same time at that ending.
This game is my favorite game of all time. Cloud, Tifa, Aerith, Barrett, Red - all were already fully realized and beloved characters, but the depth this game added to all of them was incredible. Throw in the full realization of Jesse, Biggs, and Wedge - pretty much throwaway characters in the original game, but beautifully realized here. Throw in the amazing music, the gameplay, the graphics - all exquisite and truly bringing to life the game I fell in love with in 1997.
With regard to the ending, without getting spoilery, let me just say that the team's defeat of the Arbiters of Fate means that nothing is off the table in terms of the future now. Already in the epilogue we see several events that absolutely DO NOT take place in the OG FF7. We all thought the title "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" referenced the fact that Square Enix was remaking the game, but in fact, the title was referencing the fact that Cloud, Tifa, Aerith, et al were remaking the entire FF7 universe and timeline. It's brilliant beyond words, and as a FF7 veteran, I have no idea what is coming next, and I cannot wait to experience brand new adventures with these characters I love so much.
This playthrough is one of, if not the best playthroughs of this or any game I've had the pleasure to watch. It's a joy to see someone come to the world of FF7 with fresh eyes, and the thoughtful analysis you offered at every turn was wonderful, and more often than not, uncannily accurate. At the very end when strange stuff started to happen with regard to the timeline, people seeming to be dead but then not be dead, Zack showing up out of nowhere, you gamely stuck with it and tried your best to wrap your mind around some of the craziest twists gaming has to offer without the benefit of any context or knowledge of what was "supposed" to happen. And I would bet money you would be able to tell me exactly the stuff that doesn't seem to belong.
I cannot wait for Rebirth. I cannot wait to experience more of this story. And, I cannot wait for you to check out the DLC! I eagerly anticipate the next video in this series. Cheers!
Maggie, i just got on and watching you play
part 18/the Ending of Final Fantasy VII Remake
congratulations that you made it to the ending
i hope that you are doing really well, have a very
wonderful Tuesday evening and you are the
ultimate greatest Thank You Maggie Kastaclysm.😊
🇫🇮 🇪🇪 🇺🇲
Heidegger does have a good laugh. It's the same voice actor who voices Bender in Futurama.
Really really enjoyed your playthrough 🙂. Your enthusiasm for it was infectious and inspired me to replay it again as you were playing it. Looking forward to watching you play the dlc, I haven't played it myself. Thank you for so many hours of great entertainment! 😊
One thing I didn’t notice the first time playing through, but just did, is every time “fate” changed from the original, we get a subtitle change in the music. It sounds like a slight distortion or change in pitch. Such an amazing detail!
guess i gotta replay it for a 5th time cause i didnt notice lol
@@lilro4738 that works too 🤣 but if you go back and watch, listen for when they show Biggs in the bed.
@@billy20069 I think she did it to avoid copyright issues and such with RUclips. A lot of streamers do it so the RUclips bot doesn't pick up the music being used. They change the pitch/key of the music being played.
This has been an amazing journey with you! Such a great playthrough! Can't wait for your Yuffie DLC playthrough! 👏👏
Let's not forget Crisis Core to get Zacks story
