A simply brilliant episode in every way. Concept, execution, dialogue and plot resolution. Alyson playing Willow...Vamp Willow... Willow playing Vamp Willow and Vamp Willow playing Willow. The duology of "The Wish" and "Dopplegangland" is the series hitting on all cylinders and revving hard.
I've seen someone point out before how Willow yells "Buffy, no!" and Buffy can stop at the last second. Where Buffy yelled "Faith, no!" and Faith didn't/couldn't stop before staking Alan. Shows that small but significant difference and Buffy and Faith's abilities.
I see that more as a difference in trusting their friends and allies. I don't think Faith didn't stop in time because she was too slow, she didn't stop because she was too eager to get her kill and didn't realize why Buffy yelled stop and therefore ignored her. Which of course makes accepting and taking responsibility for what happened even harder for her ... 😢
This shows Alyson's acting chops. Those two were different people, but you could also see that vamp Willow was probably an expression of human Willow's subconscious pushed to the extreme.
I think this was another great episode from S3 and always a fan favourite with 'Vampire Willow' back again great incredible foreshadowing here too, and great comedy moments too when Willow puts on the sexy leather outfit and looks so awkward trying to act tough and evil. The fight scenes from S3 onwards improve so much you can see the show getting slicker and more polished. Great reactions again to the last two 'Double Bangers!' I can see how you are really appreciating the quality of writing and storylines as the series progresses. BTW regarding Wesley and Cordelia we have to remember Cordelia is now 18, and Wesley is not a teacher at the school, so all very legal and OK. However it was never explained how Wesley as an unauthorised person was able to just float around the school at will. That being said, even though he was not liked by fans at first, he provides some great comedy moments and I think he will grow on you.
Outstanding reaction to an iconic episode. Glad you had fun and had laughs. Keep in mind the overall storytelling and the cunning writing. You are heading for the home stretch of Season 3 and buckle up.
You can tell how much they loved that alternate universe storyline so much they did it twice! Loved seeing Vamp Willow again, and love how she gets dusted on her arrival back to her own world. So classically good.
This episode is so much fun and extremely quotable! Interesting to see the differences between Willow and the Willow that could have been played out in the same episode.
Don’t know if you caught it (it didn’t make the edit); during the shot @4:30, Oz says “something’s causing me to hug you…it’s like I have no will of my own”. Punny writing in full effect. ;)

Right? I saw someone mention that a while ago too and it's such a good point.
Oh wow thats a great comparison

Notice how Buffy was able to stop herself staking Vamp Willow in a split second compared to Faith in the similar situation 🤭.
Loved it!!
