- The trials to get this episode out to you guys was INSANE, omg. But it's here! I loved it so much! Literally one of my favourite episodes of the series I think!

"You want us to breed?" Always cracks me up.
That one and “say, ya”ll didn’t happen to do a bunch of drugs did ya?” And “jeez look at those” and about a million more.
Allison Hannigan is brilliant here. She plays essentially four distinct characters: Willow, Vampire Willow, Willow pretending to be Vampire Willow, and Vampire Willow pretending to be Willow.
And she somehow manages to make it obvious who she is at any given moment.
She's the dude playin' the dude disguised as another dude.
Faith's the dude who don't know what dude she is.
Anya:”I’m 1120 years old! Just give me a fricken beer!”
This episode always makes me laugh, but that moment in particular.
Love how Cordy just happened to stop by the library.... Dressed like she was going to the biggest Ball of the year 😂 she wasn't secretly hoping Wesley was there, nooo 😂
I like how this episode actually elevates The Wish, which initially seemed to have no lasting consequences. Usually in that kind of plot, you would expect at least the wish-maker to remember and learn some kind of lesson, but Cordelia just died in the alternate timeline. But former demon Anya did remember and there were consequences!
Apart from being a classic episode, there are two points to note.
1) Poor Sandy, what a tragic life and;
2) Willow saying "Buffy no" and Buffy stopping in time before staking mirrors what happened when Faith killed Alan and shows a different slant on that 'accident'.
I love how even all the minor characters in this episode all get laughs like the henchman just going "yeah humans do that"
One of my favorite episodes of
The entire show. The laughs keep coming non stop and so many quotable lines.
I taught hs and HATED it when the administration pushed "students teaching students". This usually comes from the principal and NOT the teachers. 1- students don't have the training or all the education needed to teach other students 2- sometimes the "teacher" student felt like they had to do all the work 3- most of the time they just goofed off together and no one learned anything--other than Administrators are stupid.
I think Evil Anya was such a fun villain, I wish (no pun intended) we got more episodes with her
Top 10 Buffy episodes. Not sure you heard a really good angel line cause you reasonably couldnt stop laughing at willows "i think im kinda gay", but the full dialogue with buffy assuring her vampires are totally different from the person and angel jumping in with an "actually... oh yeah, totally different" is SO good. This episode is so fun. I love The Wish, but this follow up delovers even more cause we have our characters interacting with that world a little. And Alysson Hannigha. Was AMAZING, she basically played 4 willows here and sold us on each one. Vamp willow, normal willow, normal willow pretending to be vamp and vice versa. Great reaction by the way :)
Between stand ins and stunt doubles there were about 4 people playing “Willow” in this episode. A little googling of doppelgangland behind the scenes will show you photos of them all together.
If you watch Vic's outros, at the end she reviews IMDb scores, trivia, production mistakes, BTS pictures and more.
It is fascinating that VampWillow represents Willow's dark side, her id, and the story arc is about Willow becoming less repressed. Although VampWillow is evil, she has character traits that Willow needs. As shown in the beginning, Willow is kind of a doormat, repressing her own desires in order to be a "good girl", and therefore is taken advantage of. And from previous eps we know she is shy about s*x. VampWillow has no problem sticking up for herself, and expressing her s*xuality. As the episode goes on Willow becomes closer to VampWillow, stopping Buffy from staking her, agreeing with her on several occasions, saying she can't bring herself to kill her, and finally 16:36 accepting and loving her. And the end scene with Percy shows Willow the value of being assertive.
This kind of psychological subtext is what makes BtVS stand out from other shows.
The photo at 30:03 looks like Alyson and her stunt doubles doing an homage to the Beatles album cover for Abbey Road.
You are entertaining and fun to watch your reactions. BTVS is in its stride and might have only 1 or 2 less than excellent episodes left in the next 94. Buckle up and enjoy the ride. It’s great to watch someone on their first journey in the Buffyverse.
Cursing: In S1 episode "The Pack", when the pig is running through the halls (its POV), you hear someone say, "Oh, shit! He did it."
So many great moments and/or jokes in this episode. Love it. The only drawback as a rewatcher is the wait before Vampire Willow shows up.
"HANDS! HANDS!"
Faith's playing double agent at this point.
"Dopplegangland" is a fan favorite since we get to see Alyson stretch her acting muscles as Vamp Willow, and we get a hint as to what will happen to regular Willow later in the show.
Love the new set-up, Vic. Looks like Willow's bedroom.
Omg I just realized it kind of does! Thanks!
I think this was another great episode from S3 and always a fan favourite with 'Vampire Willow' back again great incredible foreshadowing here too, and great comedy moments too when Willow puts on the sexy leather outfit and looks so awkward trying to act tough and evil. The fight scenes from S3 onwards improve so much you can see the show getting slicker and more polished. Great reactions again to the last two 'Double Bangers!' I can see how you are really appreciating the quality of writing and storylines as the series progresses. BTW regarding Wesley and Cordelia we have to remember Cordelia is now 18, and Wesley is not a teacher at the school, so all very legal and OK. However it was never explained how Wesley as an unauthorised person was able to just float around the school at will. That being said, even though he was not liked by fans at first, he provides some great comedy moments and I think he will grow on you.
D'Hoffryn(Andy Umberger) played the captain of the Dortmunder(Alliance ship) in episode 11.
And a third role on another Joss related show I won't describe to avoid possible spoilers. (Written before she read the notes)
This is absolutely one of my favorite episodes of this entire series. This is one I always look forward to once reactors get to The Wish, and it never dissapoints.
Edit: I have also actually seen the band K's Choice perform live at Lilith Fair in 1997 in Florida, which I guess was a couple of years before this episode was made. I had no idea they were Belgian, though!
I do miss those tv commercials that teased for the week lol😅😅
K’s Choice have made a number of excellent songs. But by far their best is Not An Addict.
stunt doubles for normal-Willow and vamp-Willow!
Glad you had a great time with this one. Such a standout ep.
Aw, Giles has two "daughters": Buffy and Willow.
Great reaction. This is a fun episode.
Great reaction! so much fun to watch!
No, it wouldn't be legal to force a student to tutor another. But maybe as an extra credit course or extracurricular activity they do as a volunteer, they could. But it already seems that Sunnydale has it's own set of rules. Like they way it's no big deal that so many people are murdered at the school.
so true haha
Me, just watching a youtuber I don't know react to Buffy the Vampire slayer after a day at work teaching Éthique et Culture Religieuse to Secondaire 2, 4 and 5.
Random youtuber: "In Québec there's a program called PEI"
Aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh!!!
hahahah, glad you felt seen!
I'm glad to see you had so much fun with this one!
One of the best Buffy episodes.
Just Google "Dopplegangland Behind the Scenes" and see AH with her three doubles from this ep.
If you watch Vic's outros to the end she always reviews available IMDb scores, trivia, production goofs and BTS pics
Jme suis abonné le MOMENT que t'as dit tabarnak
