  • Making a clay pottery Lighthouse on the Wheel Video.
This is made from 3 pots.
A taller base pot, a smaller thinner top piece and a simple lid for the roof.
Nothing too difficult apart from maybe cutting out the window holes in the smaller pot.

When I first started using the wheel I sucked & the clay would go everywhere, it was difficult and annoying. Now, a year later I'm surprisingly very good at it. It's so easy and I enjoy watching these videos because it gives me new ideas. Making wheel thrown objects is so relaxing & a great way to relieve stress.

By all means, find a place to try it yourself. I suggest a college or uni with a good art department with a ceramics studio.
It's frustrating in the beginning, but even if you never get the hang of the wheel, you can still hand-build all sorts of things. It's a terrific hobby.

Brandi Fouche Very tough! I'm a beginner in ceramics and let me tell you.. even just making a 5 inch cylinder is tough enough as it is. Do not get discouraged though if you want to try, it's all in the matter of how much time and effort you put into it cause it becomes much more simply the more you do it
