This guy is AMAZING! I've only been aware of him (on RUclips) for about two weeks. I can't watch enough. His empathy, is so wide, like it covers every area no matter what area he's speaking on. WOW! What a teacher. The Knowledge he shares is so "usable" right here, right now. I just sent this video to my 22 year old grandson :-)? Thank You Behind the Brand. Thank You Seth Godin.
Once upon a time, there lived a man who really wanted to develop his writing... He enjoyed thinking outside the box and was interested in Seth Godin's work.😼
What I love about this interview is that Bryan and Seth sit and talk like old school friends. Cross sharing their experiences and wisdom but they share it with all of us... humanity is changing when people share openly and honestly like these two
"...If that number is connect it to your happiness. You've to rewared yourself" dammmm Seth Godin it's so far the most important people a meet on social media to inspire me... What a influence!
@@BehindtheBrand For sure... I just move to UK to study English and build a project about learning English and Portuguese... And one of the reason is to do Seth Godin "This is Marketing Seminar" because I used to study MARKETING and I love the concept I read on the book too Seth Godin is the man who never talk to me about "money focus" but instead he motivated us to bring the work who matter to people who care enough. For me this is an AMAZING MINDSET!
Even if you're already seen/read/heard many hours of Seth Godin or Bryan Elliott, this one is a special gem. So candid, so honest. It's like watching expert craftsmen at work -- fascinating in ways that go beyond just what they're doing. It's how they do it, the human joy of doing it. And like Bryan, I only wish I'd found Seth Godin earlier.
I know that they're sitting so close because they're trying to fit onto a phone camera, portrait mode, but I love the fact that the interviewer has his arm round the back of Seth's chair, it's so RUclips!
This is great advice. As a teacher I struggle with culture in my classroom. It's hard to ignore the haters. But this inspires me for the New Year. Thank you
I could not believe I just now found him. I have heard of his name quite spoken in others, and I have watched other motivational speakers, but somehow, Seth said something in " Your Job is to make Art - Seth Godin Crafts and Commerce 2017" and what he said completely just change my perspective about what I do. I am an artist and although I have just been creating and doing few shows or exhibits, there are ideas that I have that I want to present to the world in moving my craft forward and what he said in that video has put my mind in a whole new different level about how to put my art into a marketing level and how I feel I can contribute to the world. Like he said, we have the goods and skill, though this part of the video explain even further. I guess there is something in Seth that speaks about compassion for people like me who wants to make a difference and to make the world a better place but what to do next, I am at total loss. And I have to admit that now, that I was scared to move because of being criticized or whatever reasons, but I also know that I have something to offer and it may be able to help someone out there who feels the same way as I did...thanks for this share. This really captivated me and caught my attention. I feel so much better that there are things and situations about this interview that speaks to the core of the heart and it is natural.
Thanks Grace, I appreciate the thoughtful comments. I made a Playlist with all of my videos with Seth on the channel if you'd like to check it out. Enjoy!
Thanks Brian for this amazing interview! I love Seth and hugely enjoyed your energy & chemistry. And there were so many golden nuggets there to take away!
Brian well done. I liked how you shared something of yourself, your own insecurities and self doubts made the conversation more interesting because you created the environment that made us all aware that we have our own self doubts, and insecurities and yet if we step up we can make our own magic, make an impact in our own environment. It takes leadership skills to be open, honest and vulnerable. thank you for this conversation. this too me is the power of sharing our work that we are not alone in our trying.
Seth Godin is inspirational, as always. As a Star Wars fan, I do want to push back slightly on the interpretation of Yoda's "do or do not" wisdom. I think of it more as "don't be wishy-washy." In other words, if you want something, put your full effort into it, which is pretty much in alignment with Seth's advice. Great talk, though! :)
I didn't know of him or you until an hour ago..glad I do now. Your adoption story stopped my surfing thru videos..Thanks, I think your great 👍...binging on a your work now...great way to spend a slow rainy day at home
Besides being so informal, which I love, there's so much good stuff in this vid. Just to pick one the last points about giving, I've benefitted from the doing the same in two main, weird, ways. First, by helping I come accross amazing skills. Once I tried to help a charity with a website, the contact from there was rude, told me to go away, even though I helped him before. In exchange, he accidentally pushed me into a new tech, in those days, Wordpress. I made a lot of cool stuff with it and money. The second, maybe more important way, is I have tonnes more confidence, positivity, creativity and mental toughness than hardly anyone else I know. It should be said that I make it a regular part of my week to be doing stuff for other people - not showing off, just trying to add value to this great interview.
Thanks so much for this. I'd love to hear Seth talking more about 'soft skills.' As an educator, it's a buzz-word that I've heard a lot, but it never sat well with me. '21st Century skills' also doesn't sit well with me. I prefer future-proof skills for now. I'd love to hear this topic expanded upon, as fuel for my creative work in education. Thanks for sharing.
Yes, please ask him. Classic classroom education is typically informed by educators and educational research, but I'm aiming to infuse the classic research with the forward-thinking approach of people like Seth. I'd really appreciate his view point on 'soft skills.' Thank you.
Just saw your interview with Seth Godin by chance. I always loved how Seth's brilliant one liners can be so thought provoking and life changing. Thank you for sharing his golden nuggets with the world
Everybody apparently hates me because every comment is about me like the whole world is using me as the example for these kind of videos. what not to do. I feel the hostility and condescension constantly.
This is a bizarre setup. Neither one look comfortable being that close to one another... it just looks silly too. BUT!!! The discussion was brilliant!!! Seth Godin is the consummate American!
Seth is amazing and I really like your work. You "unpack" things well and what you bring to be learned is really good content. I'm going to share an observation with you. You are just a little too modest. When someone pays you a compliments just say thank you. Rock on 👍
Any suggestion on a book from Seth Godin that dives deep into humanity/human behavior/human attitude? Something that encases the deep knowledge he has of human beings/humanity. Thanks!

I thought he was a great interviewer and he asked all the right questions. For example I too thought there was a paradox when Seth says we should ship before perfection, and at the same time you should only launch a product when it’s perfect. His question about that hit the spot. He was a very good at directing Seth on what specifics to address. Well done I like your channel!
Seth’s microphone isn’t picking up his voice clearly. I’m already on max volume on my earbuds and the key words that he is saying is muffled. Especially the words at the end of his sentences.
Standardize tests were invented (and used) by China during the Han Dynasty (206 BC - 220 AD). So they've been around a lot longer than 80 years, and might be a lot more fundamental and embedded in human nature than a mere blip in Western Industrial Revolution history.
