Dustin has DEFINITELY improved his singing! So glad he never gave up despite all the nay-sayers. Starset live just gets better as time marches on
Robbie what pisses me off is he was ALWAYS more talented than anyone who critiqued him. But now he’s just evolving lol it’s just made him stronger

@@LibertyBella21 starset often uses ALOT of auto tune in their releases. i remember hearing in their live performances especially that his singing isnt exactly on point.

Highly requesting an acoustic version of Diving Bell
Diving bell is basically the acoustic song of the album I think. Normally the final song of every album is an acoustic ballad (Dark on Me and Everglow). It technically is more of a harder song and doesn't use acoustic but I feel that it wont happen anytime soon. They will probably do the 3 mainstream songs (Manifest, Where the skies end, Stratosphere) and possibly add either Echo, Faultline, or Other worlds than these into the mix (Possibly Trials or Solstice aswell, anything beside Perfect Machine and Diving Bell). This is all just speculation from past albums. It seems to follow that pattern but I might be wrong

Dustin has come so far with singing it's amazing, if you've been listening to them for a while, you know what I mean.
I see no difference. They're all really good. Carnivore? FAN-FLIPIN-TASTIC! My Demons? AMAZING!
@@SlySean44 the songs are good. He is just saying his voice and singing has evolved and refined. You can see the evolution of him as a singer, there is a huge difference in the two most main stream songs they have made and this.
@@furen4962 His voice has gotten alot better live, especially in the last year or two. I thought I heard somewhere he took vocal lessons. If so looks like they're paying off.

Beautiful version of a heavy song! The rasp in the voice is so raw and gives it a new flavor. Bravo boys. Will forever be our biggest influence.

I like how he blends his falsetto into the distortion at the end of "I can see the darkness" to help him get into the right place for "Manifest" sounds really good.

It's amazing. I loved the acoustic version of it. Though it took them two tries to get it started, it was beautiful
I never would have expected an acoustic version of manifest. But that was so well done. Dustins live vocals have improved so much. I met them when they were in Boston in October and they were the most down to earth people. Love this band.
So funny hearing that acoustic guitar string trying to fill the part of a heavy down-tuned electric guitar after the choruses 😂 great performance.
His voice sounds so different now
Wow! The fact that Dustin can do that growl without any kind of electronic modification or instrumental support is very impressive. Love this!
Anyone else love it at the end when dude yells "YES!!" and Dustin replies "Alright". I think of it every time I hear this song. The version doesn't matter....absolutely love it all!

I’d love to see them do a full acoustic set. It’s easy to forget how good Dustin is when he’s always using the effects mic live. I’ve had a great time the 4 times I’ve seen them, but ta set like this would be something special.

As great as it is that they’re releasing these, I feel like Manifest isn’t very well suited to being an acoustic. The sections originally designed to showcase the heavy, gritty guitar feel kind of out of place with acoustic instruments. You can sort of tell that this isn’t what the song was written for.
That’s not to say I don’t like it though, and I’m really excited for Where the Skies End!

Can’t wait for them to do Divisions 2.0. Just speculation but they’ll probably do Manifest, Where The Skies End, Echo, Perfect Machine and Stratosphere acoustics with a 2.0 version of Other Worlds Than These if following the trend set by Vessels 2.0

Zero they did one for Vessels and Transmissions. It’s kinda like a running theme I think... I’m not sure but I’ll ask them when I meet them in Feb, see if I can squeeze any info out of them

Fucking love this. The lower key makes the vocal melody so beautiful, great job to Dustin. Not a huge fan of how bright the acoustic sounds but definitely just a nitpick. Strings are great too.
His live singing has gotten so much better!!
I've loved Starset since I first heard their first album. I played it repeatedly until Vessels came out. They just keep gettinf better every album they put and I'm so happy they're still here

Those are some really gritty harsh vocals. Gotta reach really low to grab that. Congrats Dustin and the band as whole. You guys are perfection.
After a few tries I managed to get the sound and it amazes me how much we can alter our chords or folds. The way to describe it for me is this: take Corey Taylor's technique for his scream. I find he uses more throat muscles than anything hence his thick neck. Now take that and bring it lower on the folds and you have what Dustin is doing. I am by no means a vocal expert. These are just my insight on how I would make this sound.
