starset deserves more.. they're getting more known now but i hear from a lot people that they've heard better and i just can't comprehend that. ever since i heard my demons back in like 2014 or smth like that, i've listened to starset more than anything.

Scott I definitely agree with you on this because I feel the same way. I just got into them when Vessels released. I didn't like it that much when I first heard it but after 10 listens, it finally hit me and it hit me harder than any other album I've heard this year and even the past 3 years. I definitely know what you mean. There's something about them that makes it more than just a band, more than just music. I don't even know what it is, but it's amazing. I've never followed a band more closely than Starset.
Look up downplay, while Dustin only recently began starset it is not his first foray into music, downplay was his first band and it sounds like old starset, some songs were originally written and performed with downplay such as dark on me or my demons and even carnivore
I know what you mean. Such an underrated band. Everyone on earth could be a fan and they’d still be massively underrated.
For me I think it's the lyrics that do it. I can relate (in my own way) to what's being said. And the music that's composed is outstanding! For me, it's like a therapy lesson with good music. Revealing things about myself that I couldn't not previously express or put into words, but they've done that for me... then put it into a poetic form, made it rhyme and added music. It's like my life is now a soundtrack..

Dustin's voice is so calming that I want to hear him read stories to me every night while I fall asleep lol. That would be awesome.
Starset seriously needs more recognition. Not only do they make amazing songs that have deep meaning and the music videos show a whole different side, Dustin Bates is a space nerd and here we support that.

One of the coolest bands with one of the freshest and most progressive sounds in the industry. Easily one of my favorites. Transmissions was a dope album and Vessels is awesome as well. Starset never disappoints. 💯

This band is so underrated. I saw them live when they opened for Breaking Benjamin and Seether this past May. I hadn't listened to any of their art until I saw them live. I'm already in love.
Monster comes right after My Demons and you cannot convince me otherwise.

This song pretty much tells how I feel about my father. He abused me all my life, which ended my training to being a US Marine. He got under my skin, in my head, and I didn't make it through boot camp because of him, as well as myself for letting it happen. Before I left for boot camp, he pulled a gun on my mom right in front of me. He's done so much damage to my family and I. He's brought the house down on us, and I'll never forgotten what he did to my family and I. His manipulation, his physical abusive side of which I was the punching bag, and his cruel ways of making my life hell. I know it was a simple construct of lyrics but it connects with how I feel about my father.

@@anxhelovucinaj1576 We are. From where we live to our mindsets. I have plans of attending Police Academy soon. My father is facing charges for separate crimes, but he was found guilty for brandishing for the crime he committed in the prior comment.

So I know he's not picky about how people relate to his music, but for me this song helped me through the ongoing years of chronic pain with how much I've been cut open and stabbed to try and be fixed. Chronic pain is the monster in my story. And their song Perfect Machine helped me get through my 1.5 hour MRI (was able to listen to them on pandora). Carnivore is another song I relate my pain to. I cannot wait to see them in concert!

Ive noticed, for me, all their songs go into a huge story that keeps going. Something i need ti turn on when i sleep/gong to sleep as its comforting. Probably weird, but i interpret better when half out/hlf awake.

I always give my own meanings to songs...does anyone think the artist wants it that way or is it bad because it might not be the real meaning the artist intended
hilde105 - Musicic is therapy. Not just for the listener, but for the artist who writes the music as well. Music has gotten me through some pretty tough times in my life, as I'm sure it has for many other people as well. An artists main objective when writing music, is to write songs that people can relate to and interpret in their own way. A lot of song lyrics are purposely written in a way that leaves the meaning open for interpretation by the listener. That's the beauty of music, the same song can have 10 different meanings to 10 different people.
Dustin himself has said that he tries to write the songs so that although he might mean it one way, people can be able to interpret it and give their own meanings to it. There’s nothing wrong with that. It’s something we do to try to connect us more to the music
Finding the origin of how this epic band came to be makes me more curious to find out more about this!
