- A highlight on Jidenna’s The Chief album is the song “White Niggas,” produced by Andrew Horowitz, Nana Kwabena, Jidenna and AdoTheGod. It touches on a day in America where racial roles are reversed and is all told by Jidenna to a man and his wife, Madeline.

Jidenna got that 2pac mindset
yup that's it
He was an actual prefessor 💅🏾
y'all missin the whole message of the song and just dissin his looks what kind of headassery
But his message is pretentious. He was preaching to the choir. Anytime he almost said something new or interesting he rolled it back because it might be contradictory to the prevailing beliefs in rap. What ends up happening in this song is a one dimensional narative we have all heard before and has been said to death, at this point he's just cashing in on the fact he will be treated like a hero and given lots of money for saying white people are ignorant and should feel bad
Gavin Bowyer It doesn't matter how many teachers use PEMDAS to teach about order of operation. It's a fact. Some teachers teach it so good, young students may think their teacher was the one who made it up. Regardless, it's still a fact. It still holds true. No matter what mouth it comes out of. So yea, we get it, so many people are saying the same thing. But if it's a truth, then what can you really say 🤷🏾♀️
Tayla B,
This isn't math. It's a poltical/social issue that everyone will have a unique prespective on, it's an opinon. He acts like a mindless drone saying nothing different. It wouldn't have been hard to be ground breaking and go beyond this basic level commentary by simply not pandering to black people and prehaps introduce a balanced perspective on the issue not treating all white people as a homogenous mass of ignorant rich evil people.
Gavin Bowyer & unfortunately the same way you feel as though they are being depicted a negative way as a mass is the same way black people are stereotyped and treated a certain way because of it. & maybe, just maybe, some people miss that point sometimes. So the fact that this song even brought us to this point of conversation could mean that the song served its purpose successfully.
I am not white.
Also where are we being stereotyped and mistreated?
And if we are does that excuse us stereotyping others, do two wrongs make a right?
> So the fact that this song even brought us to this point of conversation could mean that the song served its purpose successfully.
It brought it up and said nothing new or meaningful about it. It's like two friends talking and a third guy parroting things that have already been said.
nobody said shit about his hair or clothes when he was singing classic man people really don't wanna hear real shit do they
I love how Jiddena raps about topics that actually have weight and are actually important to today
This sound like a hood ass poem
Chance the Rapper ok what's wrong with that
This is one of the smartest raps I have heard in a while ...
Hope you guys got him to do more songs! He's so great but underrated it seems.

Genius watched it when it came out 😅 all good
Genius when is the one you did with phora coming out?
Jidenna spits facts 💯all y'all saying that his hook was weak probably listening to future rapping about nothing.
it's really wild to me that while this dude is transcending the superficiality of race and appearance to speak on lived experiences between people of different backgrounds, majority of the comments are about how "white" jidenna is. We really gotta stop feeding into these surface level stereotypes
Thank you genius for this. I freaking love this song, it's one of my favorites from the album.
"Sorry mom" - I love him. He's speaking truth tho, we as white women are protected and coddled and he's speaking about the direct juxtaposition of how white women are viewed n treated (pure, innocent, believable if they say a man of color raped them) and Black women (loud, fast, rude, hypersexual so they can't be raped). We as white women added so much trouble onto Black men during slavery and Jim Crow because of these rape accusations- many Black men were beaten, whipped, sexually assaulted as humiliation, hung, set on fire without any evidence or jury conviction. We are culpable for the demonization of Black men and we need to do better
yep. we need to do a hell of a lot better.
You are not culpable to shit, unless you personally took those actions. Just because you are white or someone else is black, doesn't mean sins are passed down. That's like saying I will knock out your brother, because he looks like the guy that knocked out my little cousin in the 60s. That's some silly shit. Unless you made the actions, you do not take credit for those actions. You are an individual, not a group or collective defined by people that look like you.
Woke BS
"sorry mom" lol
people need to stop sleeping on jidenna damn he got bars and an amazing message
I love the way he talk ... I can't put it in words how it sounds
Great song, its hard to explain white privilege to those who have it and take it for granted and I think this song does it well. Sometimes its hard to see the privilege you have because you have never been without it, its absence is what makes you see it....which is why black folks can usually see it so clearly...they go without it and watch people who DO have it. ...white privilege isnt something anyone has to give up, we have to change it to the standard treatment for EVERYONE and therefore it will no longer be "white privilege", but instead it would be "human decency shown to everyone" as the default...thats the goal.
Problem with that line of thinking is this: privileges are earned, not given out freely. Take that how you will.
Thats semantics, privilege in this context is about getting a "different" level of treatment than others...the "privilege" that whites have isnt about some "earned" privilege, its about being seen and treated better overall by the society. For example, a black kid in school who gets into a fight with another kid has a higher chance of having the POLICE called in rather than be treated as a discipline problem...the white kid would be more likely to be treated as a discipline problem and not end up in the criminal justice system over it.
Except when you say that, you're lumping all white people together. Not every white person is a WASP, and collectively, in "white" society, you have a plethora of immigrant experiences. English sold dissident Irish as indentured servants, cops treated the Italians/Sicilians pretty badly, the Polish were regarded as low class idiots, along with the Swedes. Privilege isn't something that comes with a race, it comes with money, and it comes with power.
you are splitting hairs....its true that some whites are poor and treated badly, that doesnt change the reality of white privilege..and a group being targeted for some period in the past doesnt have much to do with the white privilege issue we face today.
Just by virtue of the fact that you are black, you are more likely to be viewed as more dangerous than a counterpart who is the same in all ways except skin color. Even black people fall prey to this bias.
JELLAH23 Well, no, black people being viewed as more dangerous has more to do with statistics than anything else. White people are exposed to the news, and what they're seeing is riots, etc.
White privilege is a lazy cop out for people to have convenient scapegoats for personal shortcomings. Again, privilege exists for people with power and money.
Don't get me wrong, I won't argue that black people have fewer advantages and are placed in poor environments, but until they stop destroying what their community attempts to build, in order to change things, the cyclical and self destructive nature of the urban communities has to change.
I just wanna have a long intellectual conversation with him for real over some hot tea and kombucha just chillin. Like Bruh that would be clutch af

Can I sit down and just have a 30 minute conversation with you? So intelligent and handsome.
Amazing
Glad I watched this. Anytime someone can get a message across, or educate the uninformed, its a good thing. I know most people of my skin color wouldn’t have taken the time to watch this, just off the name of the track, but I’m glad i did.
These videos really put me on songs man 😂
Love this guy
I appreciate the music that he is making. There's a lot of truth in it.
everything about jidenna is so damn fine
Jidenna is well loaded and highly endowed. His lyrics and presentation flow with ease. He's simply good and I wish him well

lyricism is so underappreciated today
"Sorry mom" 😂
He’s so nice
i love this song too
😂😂😂 the lacrosse 😂😂😂
man id never expect a woman with a baby stroller to help me. especially if i look all fucked up, thats a red flag for someone guarding an infant. when i was in public with my baby son, the last thing i wanted near me was negativity. who knew if that dude who was injured had more bullshit comin his way in the next 2 minutes...
Dewla Madonna interesting. i didn't interprète it as they were expected to help but that there was no acknowledgement of the Mexican man. my question is, if the injured man on the ground were white, all else being equal, would there have been more acknowledgement, a glance, a quick "do u need any help?" or a discreet call to 911 as they strolled off? granted that raises the other issue that is brought up in the song "911's no longer your lifeline". tho he brought up the white women, the questions could be posed for upper middle class people of any race, because i think this is about class/gentrification in general in addition to race. I think it is called intersectionality.
Thanks genius
luv Jidenna
I thought he was dressed like a priest for a second.
That's how Nigerian men dress
straight genius
the song is amazing
Nothing but hate in these comments damn
😂😂the beginning
I searched "how to pronounce nigga"

Not an invisible military, just a GOOD neighborhood without thugs.
Big difference.
twistedmetalplayer21 he's talking about the police, that went right over your head.
twistedmetalplayer21 police are thugs in uniform.
how is it a good neighbourhood when they live in the same neighbourhood ? he is talking about white people in the HOOD neighbourhoods
Oh much love 💓🔥❤️❤️❤️ invisible military I love it.. beautiful soul
Lax baby
Cottonmouth brought me here
That corner store story is so damn true.
Holy shit this dude is slept on. He’s a genius who speaks on real shit I have mad respect for that.
people out here making new words
Shaye Bruyere+ people been doing that shit for years.
Shaye Bruyere L
Lmao all words are technically made up. For example, Shakespeare made up the word assassination.
As another New Yorker , i know all his words lol
i havent heard the song but this guy brings up good points and i like the lyrics tbh, except the hook is very lazy
Factory New Rotting Corpse ppl talking bout the hook of a song they haven't listened to. listen to the damn song. he doesn't say yeah baby. it's a whole 80s style r and b chorus saying "White Niggas" crescendo-decrescendo. over and over again. The essence of the hook is the simplicity and the humor and irony is in the r and b style chorus. imma about to lose a gasket with these comments lol
Shy Lad as i said i hadn't heard the song, but now i have. the hook makes more sense in the context of the song. a lot of people including myself are subbed to this channel and just clicked because we saw the song name and wondered what it was about + i was too lazy to listen to it when i wrote that comment. please don't lose any gaskets they're important
Factory New Rotting Corpse lol
Factory New Rotting Corpse haha I'm chilled now but thanks. your reply makes sense
the name of this song tho
Babe!
My boo
LUV PLSSSSS

In new york, no one ever stops. There is a reason that new york city is called the city that never sleeps.
how come they can say it
he too damn fine
Yas 👏🏾 Yas 👏🏾Yas👏🏾
Yeah makes sense why the label wouldn't drop that video. You can't have a bunch of white kids getting snatched up by police and doors getting kicked in.
The wordplay painted a very vivid picture.
Such a beautiful man 😍🔥
i didn't know Common had a son that raps
Makes me think of a song out of Jive Turkey
Who be going to the corner store wit their kids at 3 in tha morning.
2 POINT NEXT
*sorry mom* 😁
Fuckin love Jidenna
why's my man wearing a Thawb

So much ignorance from both races in these comments. Smh.
