DIY POWERFUL TESLA COIL WITH ONLY 4 COMPONENTS

- Hello guys, Today I have made this small but powerful tesla coil with only 4 components. I have used a IRF640 mosfet which can easily drive the tesla coil. The secondary is wound on a PVC pipe with a diameter of 40MM and I have used 0.25MM wire for the winding. The total number of turns can be above 200 turns. The primary consist of only one turn of a 1MM copper wire. The input voltage of this tesla coil Is between 12v to 24v. The mosfet gets very hot after 1 minute so use a large heatsink. Please be careful with this circuit because this circuit consist of high voltage !.

I think so, only it would be half the power he used in the video (18v), so your coil may not be as strong as shown.

Yes. Connect the negative point of the capacitor to source of the mosfet and the positive to positive power input

I have used same mkp capacitor still the circuit is shot circuiting
Try re-wiring your circuit or replace your capacitor, maybe yours is faulty.

I believe so. He used 18 volts, so 12 should work, but it will be a bit weaker since there isn't as much power.

I have used 0.2mm copper wire for the winding and the input is dc. You can’t run it on 9V, it won’t work properly.

yes, IRF640 is electrically the same as IRF640N, the "N" just means it's a lead-free version of the transistor. Both will work just fine if properly cooled.

Make sure about the position of the potentiometer. Set it to max on anti clockwise then turn it slowly in clockwise direction

Bro I checked my connection but my heat sink is not heating at 12 v I checked with tester the top nail has current but mini neon bulb not glowing I used 56 ohm resistor and 2 k variable resistor
