- Frankie performs his unique style of stand-up, at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane in front of a packed house and the Queen and Queen Mother for the annual Royal Variety Performance.
Unique, unprecedented, unequalled. Perhaps the greatest standup in the English language. RIP Sir Frances of Howerd.
The greatest delivery of all time. My comedy hero. 💛
A large part of what I love about him is that he hardly ever tells any actual jokes, in any conventional sense. Maybe one an hour. And he’s funny and adorable to watch anyway.
None of them do: but the difference is this one makes you laugh
A great comedian sadly missed like so many - Loved his humour. Bless you, Frankie and Thanks
Very talented entertainer. He delivered it in such away that it all seemed scattered but this was the work of a totally focussed pro. Bumped into him years ago in Brighton UK, said how much I enjoyed his style of comedy. He was very well spoken, quite a still presence, and genuinely appeared much appreciative of my words. As he departed he turned around and said “And it’s bloody hard work”!! With a wave of the hand, phasing seamlessly into his stage persona😎👌
The brilliance of comedy legend Frances he goes straight into a bungling hound of words ad lib and sarcasm which in which facial and tone delivery is sooo funny.a charming man sadly missed tittering in heaven godbless you frankie RIP❤
When i was young i thought him old hat. Now I realise just how good he was. Someone above thought this was not his best, but he was not far off. His timing and wit was superb. Worth watching his Cambridge Uni evening here on RUclips. Towards the end of his life with a new generation captivated.
It wasn't Cambridge University. It was ' Frankie Howerd on Campus ' - Frankie Howerd was at the Oxford Union, Oxford University debating chamber. He shone like the star he was.
@@davidbarron6638 Ah! Must not upset the Oxonians with incorrect facts.
He was❤ absolutely 💯 brilliant
A true wonderful genius
He was great, so funny
What a man!!!!! And his opposite? Hilda Baker-"Be sooon I said!"
I was coming out of a West End theatre when I realised it was Frankie walking along beside me. As we came down the steps, a loud and rude audience member who had been a pain during the show, slipped and fell into the gutter. Without breaking stride and at the speed of light, Frankie said, 'He's back where he started.'
Comedy. Genius. Loveable clown. No equal.
❤
Titter ye not! Madam!
God bless Frances for the millions of titters you brought us.
He broke every rule in standup
Been looking for this video for ages. Thanks for the upload.
Thanks for watching 👍
A comic genius ♥
Ohh ar mrs
Not his best performance
Not Frankie at his best. Not enough of his usual audience interaction gags.
From his 'low' period
The audience was poor not him. He was excellent.
