    Just wanted to thank the team and especially Sean. You are doing a really great job. As a viewer and especially as a camera assistant I really see that you sit down and try out what you are showing and explaining. That shows in the small little details you think about and explain. So big compliments. So keep it on and I hope you will moderate more Arri videos in the future. I am enjoying wathcing these videos :)

    I've watched this video three times now, even with my school and sleep schedule :P It's just so fascinating how much detail and intracity is put into absolutely maximizing the workflow and efficiency on set. Thanks for the video! :)

    Cool video Sean! Great explanation of all those niggly little parts that would bore the pants of your director, but that are essential for the well equipped (and efficient) camera assistant!

    What do you recommend for larger lenses that need support with the ronin 2? Thought of getting the Sam-8 with the lightweight 15mm console? Will the standard ronin dovetail fit under the Sam-8?
    Would appreciate a recommendation for a light and flat setup, Alexa 35 with hawk v+ lenses.

    Great video, but guys, you have to deal with the sound. It sounds quite bad you know. I don't know what your audio pipeline was, but seems like you used stereo mic or some kind of XY recorder and you've got an anti-phase issue of some sort. Stereo to mono for voice over will help you make it simple better (or just simply take just one channel of audio for both channels)

    The flexible sunshade adapter, that just screws straight into the single filter stage? Thanks

      It sure does! It works with the single stages and the base module.

    Cheers for a great video as always! Was wondering, will you bring out a ronin top plate which sits under the top handle to eliminate the need for the adaptor? Many thanks

      Hey Robbie, we're looking into it but nothing on the immediate horizon. We've now included Ignite Digi's adapter in our pricelist.

    Are SAM7 and 8 same width but different length and height? Also do they fit on OConnor 2560 straight? A standard Arri dovetail fits on the tripod without euro plate. I m wondering if they do that.
    And do all the SAM plates have screw holes on the bottom side so I can mount them straight to tripod plate?

      @ARRIChannel  Год назад

      Hey Yuki, SAM-7 and SAM-8 are the same width and height, but different lengths. The SAM-7 is designed for ARTEMIS and PRO type sleds, where as the SAM-8 is designed for Tiffen sleds: they both use different safety stop mechanisms.
      None of the SAM plates will snap into an oconnor head like our dovetails do, although that's an interesting idea.
      SAM-6, 7 and 8 have threaded holes on the bottom and will work well mounted to a snap plate, but SAM-5 and SAM-9 do not as they're designed for lightweight gimbals.

    Will the SAM-8 still work with a GPI Pro Steadicam? I'd prefer a longer plate and the numbers on the side compared to the SAM-7 plate.

      Yes, the mounting interface is the same and both plates are compatible. You could also use a SAM-8 with the Artemis system, for example.

    Is there a way to use SAM plates without a BUD?

    • @ARRIChannel
      @ARRIChannel  7 месяцев назад

      Hi Imran, the ALEXA 35 requires a BUD-1 to work with any of the SAM plates or baseplates that we have released. A BUD-1 ships with every camera. Technically the SAM-1 for and SAM-3 don't require a BUD, but they're for the ALEXA Classic and AMIRA.
