25 and still playing Sonic for sure! It's hilarious, but I can't help crying with this, the music takes me back to my childhood playing Sega and Nintendo videogames 😭😭😭😭 f*** nostalgic.
As someone who never played the game on genesis, I can tell you this gives the vibe of nostalgia, really gives you goosebumps. I only played this game on the genesis mini and the mobile port. This game will hold up forever!
I played this for my young cousin on the Genesis for the first time and I was taken back by his reaction because he had never even seen it before. Kinda like you described it, a vibe of nostalgia.
@@nsny25 yeah, but Knuckles Chaotix is a WHOLE different vibe. Just listen to Door Into Summer from the game, definitely a nostalgic feeling even though you never played it.
I remember in ~1992 at 7 years old my neighbour owned a game shop in town, they invited me to Sega promotion where they had a massive projector screen playing Sonic the Hedgehog. To this day one of the coolest mind blowing experiences I've had. Wish I still had those 7 year old eyes full of wonderment.
Recently turned 20, I Rmr being a lil kid playing this on my mom’s slider phone, an early 200s phone with a keyboard on the back. I Rmr the joy I felt. I had to be 4~6. Can’t believe how that moment made me a big fan
39 years old here. Being a Nintendo (later Super Nintendo) fan as a kid back then, this was the game that caused me to turn my head toward Sega Genesis. Nostalgic!
Never realized but SEGA came out with nightcore music way before it was even a thing @ 2:18 or if you want to feel like your playing with the red speed shoes on 24/7, play the video in 1.25x
I remember playing this on my childhood friend's house back in early 2000s. It was sensory-stimulating that I always craved to come back and play his Megadrive (Genesis) again.
Me and my older brother and sister had this game in 1994 when I was 4. The green hill level is the one I remember the most I used to harmonize the song.
One of the things that I remember doing (and I'm sure many others have, too), was trying to go back up the S tunnel at 0:47. Hard to do, which made it kinda rewarding. Plus, you got an extra shot at the rings in the sky.
I remember playing this for the first time in 1991 on an actual mega drive. They dont make games like they used to and never will. This was how it was done after school or on a rainy day on the weekends with friends passing the controller back and fourth after losing a life or completing a level.
I'm 12, (if you choose to insult me on my age, you're the one to blame for starting an argument.) never knew about Sonic until around 2016, joined the fandom around 2019 maybe, haven't left since. Green Hill Zone, the place that started it all, and will always be known by millions.
@plsot7268 out of interest, what did you play the original Sonic on at 6? I played it at the same age on release, it's awesome that later generations can still have it as part of their childhood.
I remember in 1992 when I was 8 years old, my friend had this game.😀 I use to go over his house on Saturday mornings to play Sonic The Hedgehog!🦔 Great times!👍🏽😊
My dad once told me a story about how when was a kid (He was born in 1982), he went to a friends house and they had a sega genesis. He decided to try playing Sonic, and for some reason he thought the goal was to collect all the rings lol. He ended up being to frustrated and decided to play something else. He's always been a fan of video games and in fact he plays me and my little brother's Nintendo Switch more than we do lmao. Although he said Sonic is a bit too confusing for him, he's always been more of a Mario fan anyways tho.
What surprises me about this game is: why the entire game except the SEGA intro feels normal in widescreen? Sonic does fell a little thicker then it is supposted to be, but the rest, is normal? The text is normal, the trees are normal, the flowers are normal, even the Badniks ars normal wth
You can fly through the level in a minute and it flows well. Its later tedious slow levels that I hated, the tedium made me overly aggressive, lose attention and waste lives. Green hill put me back in the mood to try again.
