Hello from the Pennsylvania. Great video George. Brings back fond memories of hunting with friends who lived in that area. Some of the most strenuous hunting I've experienced and Ive experienced a lot. Mud, bogs, impenetrable thorn bordered ditches, electric and barb wire fences, stone walls, gates, creeks, rivers, turnip fields, bulls and rain coming down sideways! And always a pint or 4 at the end of the day. Good luck with the rest of your hunting season!
@@springerspanielful All my life. Passion is grouse and woodcock. Have raised and trained Eng Setters since I was a kid. I was lucky to have lived during a time when the birds (and the cover) were both plentiful. Tough to find both now a days, but we (my dogs and I) continue to persevere. Sorry to hear what has occurred with the cover over where you live, it was top notch the few times I was lucky enough to hunt there.
I put a bit of electrical tape over the end of my rifles, keeps dirt, snow rain out and it blows off when you shoot, no damage. A friend in the military said they used condoms! Likely work for a shotgun too!
I absolutely love your videos your showing the true sides of feild sports and crafts in Ireland in the hunting and fishing side . Your a true huntsman and unfortunately these men are getting fewer every year weather its hunting ground been took away from them or just the old age these things need to be teached in schools so our family (hunting fishing people)dont die out its a way of life and has been for centerys in our little country .. keep doing what your doing great job . Leitrim has got to be the same good cover just vanishing no where for our wild life to live . Very sad 😔
In a previous video maybe a year or two ago,you mentioned that your favourite cartridge for game is RC in 30 grams of no 7. Would this be your cartridge of choice for duck also?

@@paulcanevari5664 The land has been raped and denuded of wildlife habitat ,regrettably.
Nice to see someone out hunting with a side by side .
Never use anything else, the original game gun, never bettered..
Great video. 👏👏 When walking around it’s always worth checking the end of your barrels to make sure they are not plugged with mud.
For sure, I taught firearms safety for many years...

I tend to use slightly heavier shot for ducks,32 gram 6 in the right barrel and 34gram 5 in the left.
Quite different compared to how the Americans do it
Indeed.
Good weather for ducks nuthin better then jump shootin me i hate in a blind ..
I like both..
