George, you are a born natural at this teaching. Another great pike video - my heart was in my mouth watching that fly, waiting for the takes in the clear water. I think you need Tom and Dave out together.
Fair play to you. You’re new to Pike fishing and are not afraid to say your learning. The net is a great improvement, and possibly a small foldable unhooking mat. My own early Pike escapades were cringeworthy, but I learnt and adapted. Great honest video with a great buzz. Enjoy your Pike fly fishing, it’s a great method.
What a great video I never stopped smiling the whole way through it. Tom is a complete star, you must make more videos with him. Thanks for the content.
Stunning pike, great excitement in that Video grown men reduced to adrenaline crazed boys. Fantastic. Like catching your first fish all over again great stuff George, looking forward to more. The excitement was palpable.
Brilliant video, two men out fishing havin great ol crack, sure there is nothing more than that available. That's the peak. And anyone who pike fishes knows that handling the fosh the first few times is a daunting task. Nobody got it spot on at the first attempt, the man who offers only criticism offers nothing. Good luck. Also, that green inside the mouth on those pike is quite unusual, any idea what causes that?
Hope you don't mind me mentioning mybe you should invest in a unhooking mat and pike mesh glove. But the pike you are getting are in lovely condition 👍
Bloody hell George …mate you’ve taken to this like a “duck to water” …getting my head around such beasts living in such placid beautiful looking trouty places is hard …the last Pike …what a hog 👍👍
Brilliant video George !! Don't know what all the negativity was about You just keep working your magic Really enjoyed watching you and the tatics you used
I've heard down the fly line that your River Suir brown trout send you their regards George ...they're enjoying their temporary holiday from your talents, nymphs, wets, and dries 😄 This a great video and some really lovely pike (there seems to be plenty of them too in the river)....and it's beautiful to see you (and Tom) enjoying yourself so much with your newfound species, streamer flies, skills and techniques...well done!... I hope Tom's blood pressure is back to normal again :)😄...BTW, I think Mr.Whitehouse and Mortimer have got some new competition now :)
Sorry didn't mean to be annoying with my opinions. I would not tie directly to fly. Just just a clip at end of wire. Makes changing flies faster and saves time. Another tip you can cast over left shoulder if wind direction is a problem. 😊 Also one nice thing to have is the line basket makes casting easier and line will last longer.
Lord Jesus George watch your fingers by your makin me remember the years i used to catch them.Good thing ya ain't got muskies over there there like a pike on steroids...
Amazing bit of action! Ive been spiked myself when pushing my fingers too far under the gill plate and finding teeth! Re negativity, bear in mind pike anglers are the worst hypocrites ehen it comes to u hooking mats, handling etc - the same people thst use snap tackles with multiple barbed trebles, wait for pike to swallow a deadbait beforr striking, or use lures with so many hooks that they resemble SS Torture weapons! Looking forward to more, but please go easy on Tom 😂😂👍👍👍
Good man George, would have been easy to pack it in after the first video, as justified as the points made were there was no reason for everyone to keep pointing out the same thing. A small few additions to the kit and your all sorted. For the love of christ though, put glasses on Tom the next time, pike flies and wind are a deadly combo. Tie up a few flies that immitate juvenile pike, always work wonders later in the season.

Trout killers, every one. 🤨
Apex predators are necessary in any ecosystem in order to maintain a healthy population of all species therein.
