    I think the word you were searching for is "snuffed" out when starting the fire 😁 When I saw you pour in that rice I was surprised as I know you usually go high-fat / low carb for the camp meals. I didn't know there was such a thing as cauliflower rice. Anyway thanks for another entertaining episode!

    Cool overnight adventure. I haven't tried my UCO yet for having a campfire in. Glad to see it held up well for you. Wish I would have bought the NAA .22 magnum instead of the .22 LR that I got quite a few years back. I think mine would just piss off a bear or anyone else.. Looking forward to your Hot Tenting videos.

      hennessyhammock.com/products/jungle-explorer-zip It seems really good. So far liking it better than my regular explorer DLX however that's got well over a decade of use so it's too soon to know. Maybe in the spring will do a video comparison between the side zip and standard Velcro.

    Do you ever feel uneasy in the woods alone? I have not tried camping by myself yet. Great video I see you are using your blowing tube. I just got one.

    • @MegaWoodswalker
      @MegaWoodswalker  5 лет назад

      Anyone who claims they never once felt uneasy sleeping alone in the woods is either lying to you or themselves IMHO. Given the right set of circumstances it's very possible. Thanks for watching!

  • @ElementofKindness

    I had to take a shot at a coyote the other night. Bugger just kept coming towards me, despite me making it clear I was there. Never seen one show no fear before, especially when all by themselves.
    Just a good reminder that it's always better to be prepared and not need, than need and not be prepared.

    i must tell you about the becket hitch, you can leave all that metal gear for your hammock behind and lighten your load out.

    • @MegaWoodswalker
      @MegaWoodswalker  5 лет назад +1

      Can it pull tension. I use a friction knot for my tarp. Will check out that knot. Thanks for watching!

    • @THENEWWRANGLER
      @THENEWWRANGLER 5 лет назад +1

      The Beckett hitch is easily adjustable just pull it and adjust and rest it ... its all i use now and it is great bit make sure you do it right... i have amsteel loops at the ends of my hammocks , then i use a simple tree strap like webbing from an outdoor store ... the Beckett hitch works well for these types of cordage and straps

    As a letter carrier I always carried that spray for dogs. Unfortunately, It is a stream and not a powerful mist. If that is dog spray you would have little chance of turning a bear around. Bear spray is purchased in a much larger container and shoots a powerful blast/mist up to 30 feet away. You can't miss like with the single stream dog spray. I believe bear spray is also a much stronger mix of pepper. I'd much rather see you carry real bear spray!

    • @MegaWoodswalker
      @MegaWoodswalker  5 лет назад

      IMO totally worth it. I have no problems recommending Hennessy Hammocks. I bought several. Also have the bottom entry Velcro Explorer DLX. Well over a decade of use and it's still good. This one is newer and really liking it.
