Awesome, rx8 is a brilliant canvas to build on. Ive an rx8 getting a lexus 1uz v8 full rebuild with ported heads and fuel injection converted to honda blackbird bike carburettors, be ready for october. Well done, looks awesome.
+Petrol360 Yeah but with a Working Motor it's around 5k+ for the car including that fact that they have high miles.. RX8's with 10k-15k Milers go 8K+ and also RX8's with blown Engines run any where from 2k+ Depending on the condition of other parts and body
If it was a Savannah or an FD then I'd be like "no gtfo" but the RX-8 never was never really in the same ballpark as it. I'm just surprised that thing fits, lol! Wonder why he didn't cut the hood though, rather than remove it entirely. Maybe put a carbon hood scoop, or hell, a fiber glass one/etc.
Now I dont know if you'll see this but this is a serious question what do u recommend on the rx8 I dont have alot of money but my family doesnt like the rotary we want a carbureted engine but we dont knos if it would just be better to get the ls1 it would mean alot from someone with experience
You can legally do an engine swap on any car in California (I live in California) as long as the V8 engine you use is the same year or newer! Also you have to keep what ever Smog equipment that year engine (V8) came with! Hey man, I'm getting an 04 RX-8 with the 1.3l rotary engine but the engine is blown. I want to get the car rolling again because I have a huge passion for cars, I'm just not all that mechanically inclined. What should I do?
A swap is a massive project... Working with a rotary engine is hard but not impossible. I you can, I would pay someone to rebuild the engine and go through it! that may cost $1500+ but thats a lot less than any swap will be. check out my new ls videos thanks!
It cost me $123000 USD to get my Renesis to run with a turbo reliably ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 3 different workshops just took my money though, It cost me $20000 to do it properly myself.

I did with the new swap! I ended up cutting a hole out. I made a mild cowl.
