Nella musica fusion raramente ascolti influenze provenienti dalla musica progressive...
E non mi riferisco al mero utilizzo di chitarre elettriche, di gruppi che fanno fusion con chitarre elettriche e synth ve ne sono a bizzeffe...
Tanto meno mi riferisco ad eventuali utilizzi di tempi dispari complessi (un conto è giocare su un 5/4, o fare il figo suonando unobswing in 7/4... altro è destreggiarsi in figurazioni più complesse, articolate...), assolutamente...
È lo sviluppo del brano che ha in se molto della musica progressive, e non mi meraviglierei se i giovanotti in questione non mi dessero torto...
Tuttavia, se loro ritenessero questo brano "only" and "simple" fusion, beh...
Accetterei la definizione...
In fondo il risultato non cambia, hanno bravura e gusto musicale, e questo conta più delle nostre chiacchiere!!!

@@progmind4274 sì, concordo con te, ma avevo apposta scritto "only" e "fusion" tra virgolette...in realtà la fusion la si può vedere come un genere che ne abbraccia tanti altri...tranne forse il rock...qui siamo a mio parere un po' border line...

Ma è un approccio che jazzisti e non hanno mutuato da alcuni stili della musica progressive...
Che non si riduce certamente ai soli Rush e King Crimson...
Anzi, vi sono sottogeneri che hanno sfaccettature jazz, elettroniche...
Certo, la parola fusion raggruppa tutto e buonanotte, ma...
A me non è mai piaciuta, poiché si rischia di appiattire le varie influenze che gli autori vogliono evidenziare....

How do you get slap sounds to really cut through when I play them when I'm jamming in my band they are bearly audible but normal finger style is fine
Same here. I am using a clean booster pedal to ensure the slap is not lost in the mix next to fingerstyle.
