I have the t400 and I’ve even used it to balance charge and revive a few Milwaukee power tool batteries and bring them back to life, they are a really good line of chargers!
Just had a issue with a battery that would not charge on my Ballance charger. Put it on my non Ballance charger and it charged low cells finished it with Ballance charger. Saved the battery.
Smart batteries have center pin on the IC3 connector for data. It tells battery telemetry to the charger/device. This is similar to what DJI uses on their drone batteries.
This was the first charger I ever had. It worked great for about a year before one of the channels went out. If you attempt to charge on channel 1 it shuts off until you turn it off and back on. It's now the charger I take with me. This video is great and made me remember that I can increase the wattage on the channel that still works which I hadn't thought of doing. Thanks Guy. 👍
Great review I just purchased one to go along with my venom duo charger that's been taking a little longer to charge then usual. So decided to get one of these cant beat a duo charger with touch screen at that price.
The more often you charge a battery higher than its 1C rating the quicker you reduce the life of the battery. For example: that 7200mah battery 1C charge rate is 7.2A.
I have that charger for spare and bring out and for charge at 10A on 4S 14.8V you have to use the DC. Not enough volts on AC since you are using 150W instead 240W. Maybe 2S or 3S you can charge at 10A on AC mode
Hi, thanks for the video. Is this charger reliable? Does it charge and balance batteries well? Or is it better to buy something more expensive? Thanks.
@@SerasCuin in the end you do get what you pay for in many ways so keep that in mind. The HTRC T240 and T400 have worked very well for me and have charged MANY packs and still keep doing their job. I have 4 T240 and 1 T400 only one T240 has dropped a channel on AC side of charging but both channels still work hooked up to DC. There's many options out there keeping in mind the first sentence. 👍💯
I like dual chargers. I have 2 so I can charge up to 4 packs at once. I was thinking of getting another one, but haven't because 3 of my batteries have dropped a cell so I'm down to 9 packs. Maybe next spring I'll be in the market for another charger when I replenish my pack supply! 🤪👍 For the winter I wont be running as much.
@@rcguygarage I've seen those venom quad chargers, but I've never looked into them to see if they are worth getting. In theory it would be great to charge 4 packs with one charger! But I'm not sure how well they work, or how long you can expect them to last. I have a Spectrum S2100 dual charger and 2 3s G1smart packs, and 2 4s G1 smart packs. My other charger I picked up from my LHS is a Ultra Power UP200 duo that I got when I first got into RC a few yrs ago. 3 out of my first 4 pack that I bought died, but my 4 smart packs are still going strong, and the 4 Gens Ace basher packs i bought are still going strong! For me it seems like spending on better quality packs makes more sense for longevity. But I guess it all in who you talk to because I've heard horror stories for everything. I killed my first packs with terrible driving I believe. But bad crashes take their toll!
You may have it set to charge at 10 amps, but it doesn’t have enough wattage to charge a 4 cell at 10 amps. Sure, it’ll do a 2cell at 10 amps but for each additional cell you add, the wattage can’t supply enough power to charge at 10 amps. This is where this charger falls short. A higher wattage charger will do larger packs quicker due to being able to charge at higher amps. As far as how many amps to charge at, you need to know the charge rating of a pack. A 7500 mah pack with a 1c charge rate should only be charged at 7.5 amps. Charging at more amps than the pack rating will decrease the life of the pack. Hope this helps
So basically what you're saying is leave it at 10 amps and I'm safe 👍💯 obviously I'm going to have to watch that once I start pumping DC full power to it 😜 💥🔥🚒
@@rcguygarage haha well if you have say a 5000 mah 2s pack with a 5c charge rating, you can go ahead and charge it at 25 amps!! You just multiply the first number by the charge rating. Or the first two. So a 7500 mah pack with say a 3c rating would be 7.5 x 3 = 22.5 amps.

You have to keep in mind if you're looking for performance you have to pay for that buying these types of chargers aren't necessarily designed with nitrous charging in mind if you get my drift. It's that old saying if you want to play you have to pay. You also need to think about how things charge in a sense the slower you charge these batteries the better off you are in the long run because it hurts the packs less. I myself am not concerned with that so I charge everything at the highest rate possible and just deal with the consequences cuz I just don't have time for that. It's an oddity because I see a certain benefit to the other charger that this one doesn't do The other one is more newer and updated with software when I've noticed it seems to push power to one side more than the other and that might be dictated by what the battery can take I haven't exactly figured it out yet. And the other ones scream is smaller but more visually brighter and sharper because it's not a touch screen
