How I love your unique voice, Johnny!!! You're paying tribute to another incredible country singer, the one and only Lefty Frizzell. You surely are among the greatest country singers ever. May both your souls rest in peace.
Johnny Paycheck and all the other "Outlaw" country singers were the best thing to come out of country for a long time they all speak the truth when it comes to life, Women, Drinkin, and God
Johnny's voice is so warm and convincing...it makes a person stop and listen to what he's saying in his songs....I love it...one of country music's 5 top singer ever....RIP ,,,,
What was wrong is now right, what was right is now wrong. This Ole World is so "F"d up, but this is true, real, good ole country music. Makes me feel right, again!
Lefty Frizell was an original of the "Bakersfield sound". In fact, most of his original band such as Roy Nichols, Norm Hamlet went on with Merle and Strangers. Yes, Lefty had many, great country songs. Not sure about "Lefty was right after all". okay. mos60
barrygioportmorien1 My dad has one of those yellow records of this song hanging in his room on a plaque. My dad was his tour bus driver for several years in the 90's. :)
Politics, politics. Mickey Newbury brought me from the UK to work at the CMA. I turned the job down for a life with the so-called 'Outlaws'. Waylon was nearly dead before they let him in. Yet they couldn't wait to pull in Hank. Paycheck could sing and did. But a black harmonica journeyman is in the 'Hall of Fame'. Waylon, minus a foot made it. Paycheck won't. Politics, not talent.
@@marilynkopecky8294 i meant to say, jp was married to his 2nd wife .. he had a girl w/his 1st wife and a son w/ his 2nd wife... he always said, any awards he receives, he sends them home to his wife and she hangs them on their wall...

Does anybody know if Johnny did a studio recording of this song, is it on a CD somewhere?
Yes and no. It;s on a yellow 45 rpm. Search it on here if you haven't already.
I have searched but I have not come across it.....

They wanted Hank sr only after his death... money talks... JP was still married to his only wife, rest had swinging door wives...lol
It's a damn shame how they value a true talented musician. Your exactly right about the political part. God bless you!

Is this song about how communists and socialists have the right ideas, or about how commies and the like were really right wingers after all?
I can't tell if you're kidding or not, but if you're seriously asking, the song is about country music legend Lefty Frizzell.
James Phillips Heh, I love coming back to comments I can't remember writing. But, given how much I know myself, I was just joking about the title.
Haha, alright, you just never know on youtube
