The secret is to wait til they grow up and have their own kids with messy rooms. Then stand back, listen and watch as they try to get their kids to clean up *their* rooms. Great revenge!

Having repeatedly asked and threatened, l once completely lost the plot, went in with a garden rake and put the lot in garbage bags -3 large black bags actually. When l calmed down l realised l couldn't actually afford to throw anything away and had to try and come up with a scheme where she could 'earn' stuff back.

This is only the prequel, showing how difficult the start can be, eleborating on the problem we all know about. There's bound to be some sequels on how to work to obtain the result all parents so dearly desire. Somewhere in this video there was a tidied room, if only for a very brief moment, there really was. The sequels will slowly lead up to that moment. Meanwhile those little dragon's will be laughing at the camera, thumbs up and say: He'll be right.

The “tell them you’re helping” trick actually works sometimes...So does pointing out things to pick up and then clap or say “yaaay” every time they throw a toy in the basket

Hide their favourite toys (not in their room). Once they miss them and complain to you, you'll swear you saw those somewhere in their room under the mess. Warning: this can occasionally result in creating even a lot more mess (and not just in their room).
