Dennis Dart hill climbing through Stanton-in-Peak

Dart are very well suited to this route, with plenty of bottom end power to them, reasonable ground clearance and not being full length buses they get round the route with no issues. Darts haven't got the best steering lock so sometimes are harder to get round tight bends than a B7RLE but thankfully I didn't have any issues with this one.
Stanton-in-Peak is one of the tightest and definitely steepest villages we serve so sometimes tackling badly parked cars on a steep incline can cause problems.

Incredible! The Dart Pointer's my favourite shorter single deck and the issue of badly parked cars is a never-ending one for most operators Car drivers in rural areas and villages should remember to park sensibly enabling buses to get through but unfortunately, you might find a large number of said drivers can be ignorant, rude and selfish! If you can't get a bus through then it's unlikely that an emergency services vehicle would get through. I honestly think that local and central government should start enforcing tow-away zones because just having a polite word isn't working and I doubt a fine and points on licence would work either.

Yeah the steering lock was really horrific on the SPDs, some had better right hand locks as well!!
