I smiled so much throughout this one. I feel slightly guilty saying that seeing how much of a rollercoaster it was, but your response to it and the cheerfulness of the other people was great to see. I'm really glad the audience responded well. From the little snippets of practice with the orchestra, I would say it was well deserved.
I'm still trying to figure out the one bird call from the first shot in park. It sounds familiar but slightly different. The mallard ducks sound the same. It was nice for you to find the ducklings. I call them little fuzzes. 😋

I continue to marvel at your willingness to be so vulnerable to such a large audience here on RUclips - it truly is much appreciated. These videos are such an insightful peek into a professional musician's mind/soul that reaches far beyond just musical skill. Connecting with classical music as a fan (and a sometimes performer) is such a private experience and it often feels like certain emotions and thoughts are inexplicable and others couldn't possibly relate - then I watch your videos and I realise that I am not alone and that music truly is universal.
Thank you for all the work you put into connecting with us in such an honest fashion. I hope you will continue to do so for a long time to come and I, for one, will always be here to enjoy the videos :)

I can relate to a lot of things in this video, espaicially the fear because i have a concert myself next week.
I love that sometimes you just need to disconnect and go to nature and i do that too. Before my piano lesson I'm walking and listening to music on my way, but when i go back after the lesson I never listen to music and just think quietly to myself about the lesson itself. It helps me concentrate on my goals as a pianist.
    Thx for a great video❤

The K325 number with the serial number is undoubtedly an opus or project number for the piano while it was being built at the factory. The serial number is not assigned to the piano until it is complete and ready to ship. The serial number 530537 shows that the piano was completed in 1994. Because Steinway has a factory in New York as well as Hamburg, it is necessary for the two factories to coordinate the serial numbers so that the same serial number is not assigned to two different pianos. Steinway has been doing this for many years. For example, the serial number on my New York 1966 model B is 397112 and the project number is W1406.
You showed that the piano action needed serious regulation. The factory specification for key depth on a Steinway grand piano is 0.4 inches (10.16 millimeters). The let off should be right at the bottom of the key travel, and the key should not rise back up more than halfway at the very most before it is ready to repeat. As you showed, this is important for playing trills and repeated notes. A skilled, experienced technician can do wonders with a good piano action.
The amount of "bounciness" on a Steinway action has changed over the years. Here is a slow-motion film ruclips.net/video/jK2j8NXZ7n0/видео.html from 1926 of Vladimir Horowitz playing a Steinway grand. Watch the keys closely as they come back up. You can see a lot of bounce. By the way, Horowitz was 23 years old in this film. The Steinway actions have gradually become less bouncy as time has gone on. Modern Steinway actions are not overly bouncy, but they are very quick and responsive when they are properly regulated and well maintained.

As a long-term Patreon of yours I’m so pleased and happy to see this video.
It takes me back to the times before covid and I was fascinated to see all your thoughts and prep.
You’re too nice and professional to ‘demand’ a technician although I’m sure many others would have done.
Your beloved Steinway B is waiting for you back home and I’m sure it’s tone must be getting very nicely played in by now!
Supporting you as always and thank you for such exquisite music.

Great video. Emotional rollercoaster. And you are so good and sensitive in editing it into a compelling video. Fascinating, the many hours alone, your intimate contact with the personality of the concert grand, then the working with the orchestra in the rehearsals, and then a concert hall full of people, sounds and emotions, and then you again alone in the dressing room.
Weird, how exciting this portrait felt. I saw it in two parts; it was too loaded for me to see it in full haha. I hope your suitcase with personal things will find its way back to you, and I hope you fill your heart and camera with more memories of the old world and take them back to New York.
