I love the Timex Marlin and have been planning on ordering one for a while now. Brooks Brothers is my favorite clothing company by far and most of my wardrobe is from them. I am a borderline Brooks Brothers fan boy. I am going to order one of the gold tone ones right now!
can you check if the movement has a "ghost" date? do you have to pull the crown twice from winding position to time-setting position, or is it just once?
Glad to see this review, just picked a brooks brothers suit and was looking for a dress watch to pair with it... Unfortunately i think the thickness is a deal breaker 😢. Otherwise i would be all over this.
I definitely love a good slim dress watch. This model has more of a casual feel, so I use it as fun Saturday watch on the nato strap. But I will say it sits lower on the supple leather slap, and the smooth acrylic does slide under a dress cuff easily.
@@ladykemma3 once in 5 years doesn't irritate me... Automatics losing time/power are def more of a daily/weekly bother. Also, there are slimmer autos out there that are close enough in price.
I love "radial Roman" layouts like this and the optimal dial diameter and no date make it very classy. But... the one killer aspect... thickness. Too thick for a 38mm. Little wristburger like the Seiko Alpinist or Tissot Le Locle. Argh! Would not mate it to a one-piece NATO either which only makes it ride even higher on the wrist. Can't argue with the good looking dial and hands though. Seems I'll have to keep haunting the store windows at Longines for my fix...

Actually this is an unsponsored review. I bought the watch with my own money because I liked the two brands. I hope my enthusiasm comes through in the video, but it is not intended to be promotional. I'm honest about my criticism of the watch as well.

The myota movement thickness overrides the irritation of having to change the battery of a quartz.

It does indeed have a ghost date, but you kind of have to know it's there to even find it.
