There are two minimalist watches that deserve to be on this list. 1) Citizen Caliber 0100 White Gold - this watch is not only the most accurate watch ever made with +/- 1second a year accuracy, but it is entirely powered by the sun with 6 months of running time. (Take that Apple Watch.) The Citizen 0100 is a minimalist masterpiece without ego. It looks painfully common but then so is a raindrop, a blade of grass, a grain of sand. 2) Credor Eichi II with Ruri Blue Dial - this watch is undoubtedly the most achingly beautiful blue dial watch ever made. Take a Rothko painting, shrink it to the size of your wrist, and the Eichi II would be the result. The blue dial is a deep as the midnight sky and each hand painted marker is a breath from God.

Surprised that Teddy consistently ignores Yema and Fortis ! Why’s that? Both have some fantastic minimalist watches. Also surprised that no mention of Cartier here , most of their designs are super simple.
Not sure about those first two brands, but I can answer the Cartier question. Cartier watches generally aren't minimalist. Simple and a white dial aren't what make a design minimal. Cartier's long slanted numerals and unnecessary central framing elements make them not minimalist. Still iconic, of course.

For me, the Black Bay 36, blue dial with the bracelet: simple, legible, great lume, and appealing mid century proportions. It gets the most wrist time.
I'm a minimalist myself and enjoyed your choices. One thing, though, minimalism should be applied to the demensions as well as the functions and dial. I think that a minimal watch should be less conspicuous than other styles. This calls for over all dimensions at the lower end of the range. I like to see watches under 40 mm dia. and 8 mm thick or less. These dims. provide inconspicuity and understatement that comes with true luxury. Allowing the shirt cuff to readily slide over the watch but drawing attention to the subtle details the should be appreciated when it is exposed. It says "I'm stylish but sophisticated enough to stay out of your face."
Beautiful video, thank you so much. Like everytime, I see something new, some of watchbrands I‘ve never seen before. This time it was a „Green Dragon“ from Moser. When I think about a minimalism, I think about one brand: „Bering“. Did you ever hear about them? Especially their ultra-slim collection and a classic one. Just at this moment I‘m wearing one with 4,8mm thickness. Sometimes its just nice to have a clear dial, hour and minute and nothing else, it feels quiet and calm. One of the best ways to escape from all the stress is just to take a look at such a minimalistic watch on my wrist and think myself „everything is okay, I have a lot of time“.

Nice roundup here. I actually disagree with the selection of the Sinn 556ib in lieu of the standard black 556i. Despite the presence of the date window, I find the stark black/white dial scheme and plain white indices epitomize the minimalist aesthetic, and result in a significantly more stylish and appealing design overall. Also digging that Black Bay 54 - very nice.
In the modern day, almost any 3hander can be considered minimalist. The seiko SACM171 was my pick, and it in turn borrowed from the vintage king seiko design. The price was a limiting factor though so instead I go one of the recent diamonds from china, the escapement time king seiko homage, and it does all you need and more for less than $100. As much as I wanted to give seiko my money for the SACM171, it's pretty expensive and it's JDM only meaning limited service, and from what I've read the case finishing makes it difficult to polish while also not offering much scratch resistance.
Didn't now the Oris before. That's a beauty. Looking for an automatic watch for my dad. As he is a jazz fan, thinking about buying one for my father. Great video, thanks!

I am intrigued by a watch with one hand. I think that would make me happy... I bought the Rolex Explorer because it's minimal. No date, no bedazzle, no colors, just black and the time thank you very much.
James Morrison is one of the greatest jazz trumpet musicians of our time. I steal a few jazz licks from him time to time… but only the easy ones- I said he’s great, right?
most rectangular watches have that sort of innate minimalism. Some sporting art deco styling and bauhaus inspired in terms of their dials
Happy to see Stova included in your 37 best minimalist watch guide, you should've talked about it in the video as well
The moser concept dials really are minimalist.
Love the streamliner. Very reminiscent of the 70s without ripping off Genta
love this series, need to see more like this :)
I was expecting a Movado fest!
Finely some bling free watches.. usable , no nonsense..
Hi Teddy, can you maybe do a full video on two hands watches for men? I love the Hamilton Intra-Matic, but it could be a bit bigger.
Great suggestions! I love the dial on the AnOrdain! I wish they were available for sale.
I think Rolex' dial is quite crowded, so it doesn't really belongs in this category.
Tissot T Classic is a great watch, black leather strap, roman numerals, quartz.
Great selection start to finish!
Didn't now the Oris before. That's a beauty. Looking for an automatic watch for my dad. As he is a jazz fan, thinking about buying one for my father. Great video, thanks!
the Sinn with white background might be perfect, Nomos 3rd, Grand Seiko 4th
My early 90’s Seiko, 2 hands, no numerals, black face, gold case, thin is great. Bought another just like it on ebay for $30 when mine quit.
Ooh that Oris James with it's paired-back speedometer cue. Love it Love it 💫✨💫💫
Hi and good morning I have a couple movado watches, I don't hear you mention them at all. I was just wondering what your thoughts were about the brand.
I would argue the explorer is more minimalist than the oyster perpetual
A surprising omission from this list is Tissot's Everytime Swissmatic - a $400 automatic with a very minimalist dial.
Another great video, Teddy. What’s on your wrist today? I actually really appreciate that you do not do “wrist checks,” on you videos. However, this watch looks like it could be a Tudor BB. Does anyone know?
Love your reviews, but how about giving us a wrist check?
Just got the sinn 556 with the black mother of pearl dial, simple, subtle, but pops.🔥👌
Must be nice being Kevin O'Leary, ordering two Anordains just like that. Last fume batch release was sold out in 40 seconds, waitlist is up to 2 years now.
I was thinking the same thing. I bet he jumped to the front of the line.
