- This is Day 3 of a 22-day cruise on the Enchanted Princess that Princess continues two different 11-day back-to-back cruises. We arrive in Genoa Italy and head ashore to explore. We then get back on the ship to enjoy a much-needed drink and hot tub time. The evening brings bad news as the weather takes a turn for the worse.
This is the 3rd video that contains a letter for Journey to the Secret Word. For each of the 11 days onboard the ship, we will hide a letter, find all 11 and form a three-word cruise-related phrase. Make a list of where all the letters were found and what the words are - then mail it to secret @ cruisingcanucks.ca? The lucky winner chosen from all successful entries will win a piece of Level 8 luggage! See full contest rules here www.cruisingcanucks.ca/secret
Level 8 was kind enough to gift us the luggage on this cruise. We agreed to try it and see how it works on future cruises. No sponsorship or fees were paid by Level 8; they just wanted you to see our experience using it. For more information on Level 8 and the products in this video, please check them out at level8cases.com/ and use coupon code CRUISINGCANUCKS10 for a 10% discount.

Team on the rocks!!
Thanks. that makes Jill really happy. It has been an ongoing debate with us for years now!
Well there you go!Thanks! 👍
When I saw the fountain I didnt think of Friends, I thought of Married with Children
Oh yes! We didn’t think about that one.😀
On the rocks
Yeah 🍹
Hi good video. Just watched your Holland & America Caribbean first vlog cruise, not bad at all, but Jerry less of you in shot, better with you describing everything in post. Now you've got that hollywood smile no one can forget your vlogs. 😁😁
Oh my, we were show camera shy in that series. thanks for watching.
Another great video. Had to watch it twice to find the letter. 👍
Glad you enjoyed it. Hopefully it was just as good the second time around!😉
On the rocks!
Yeah! From Mrs.Canuck!
Team frozen always!
One for Mr.Canuck !
Team on the rocks! Love your royal blue halter dress, Mrs Canuck. And love hiw Mr, Canuck describes your outfits!
Rock on! We are definitely in the lead in this contest! Thanks 😊
Also team on the rocks! The only way to enjoy an authentic Mexican Margarita!
Thanks, Jill’s team is growing!😊
I'm definitely team on the rocks! Never really been a fan of frozen drinks or the brain freeze that comes with them, lol.
Jill definitely agrees with you!🥰
Good luck tomorrow! Got that drink package yet? 😂 Don’t worry, I’ll keep watching…
lol !
If you guys have a stop in Genoa again in the future, take the train to Santa Margarita Ligure & on the way back hop off and visit Camogli, two of the most breathtaking towns I've ever seen.... in particular Camogli... Portofino is nice, but honestly, I prefer the latter.
Thanks for the tip.
On embarkation day we get our room steward to cover the sensor on the light by the bathroom. That light is a pain, but once the sensor is covered, all is great! Love Princess!
We ended up covering it ourselves the next day and when our cabin steward came in he improved our set-up and it was wonderful!
So nice to see Genoa again. I have been here twice and loved it both times. Beautifull buildings, churches and great pasta and pizza and ofcourse we had Italian ice cream. We had booked a TreeCycle on Tripadvisor and it was fantastic! And those stairs...so high but also great to do and even more good for a well deserved reward 😅 in food and drinks, crisps an a non alcoholic mohito on a beatifull terras. Have a creat cruiselife everybody!
Couldn't agree more! love your positivity!😊
Are you even on a cruise if they don’t play Sweet Caroline 😂 I admire that you can fly by the seat of your pants wish I could do that. I need to book excursions.
Exactly right! Sometimes flying by the seat of our pants does mean we can get burned but most times it works out for us.
On the rocks!!
Yeah!
Hello Canucks 😀
Hi 🙋🏼♂️
Whoa, a lot of steps just in a morning! So sorry the castle was closed, but a beautiful cathedral and square with the fountains. Team frozen for me…
We had a great time checking out the town but was pretty disappointed when we got to the castle and found out it was closed. Mr. Canuck is happy that someone else is on his team!
I’ve been watching this series from this current cruse after finding your Chanel the other day - I am now subscribed it made me realise how long it’s been since I last cruised may 2018 3 days on P&O pacific Dawn out of Brisbane Australia ( now sold/scrapped during Covid-19 shutdown not sure which. ) I do miss the open ocean. My non negotiable things to do when cruising 1. Morning & afternoon tea EVERY day; 2. A daily cocktail at sunset sitting at the aft of the ship😀
My favourite things to do of an evening on a cruise are also live music ( a live pianist being number 1 on my list ) I also love the live theatre shows.
Hope you get off the ship however I remember having to tender for our port in Airlie Beach far North Queensland one year and did notice I had more nausea even after having my nausea/ seasickness tablets had complestly stopped my problems while on the ship ( different cruise to the above mentioned one )
Looking forward to the next instalment !
Had to laugh when mrs. Canuck shook her head to indicate that there was no way you were both spending the entire afternoon binge watching the love boat if you couldn’t make it to shore the next day lol 😅
David Young 39 Brisbane Australia.
Hi David,
Thanks for subscribing to our channel. Sounds like we like many of the same things on cruise ships. We really enjoyed our latest adventure on the Enchanted Princess. It takes awhile but eventually we are able to get to a port.🛳
But team creme brulee always!
One for Mrs.Canuck !
Woo hoo, three-for-three on secret letter of the day!
Good job!😀
How come you didn't google the opening and closing times of the castle in Genoa. Should've had a V8. LOL....Really enjoy your videos. Thank you and please take care of each other.
Next time! We could have edited that part out but sometimes it's the stuff that happens when travelling. We checked that type of info for the next 18 days - and luckily found another museum that was closed the day we were there.
Frozen team
Brrr!😊
Mrs C is carrying everything and Mr.C is carrying the phone. …..
The duties are shared and often depend on the type and number of cameras used at any moment. When cameras are recording, it's often Mrs C - when they are off it's often Mr. C. 10-20min of footage in a 3-hour adventure.....
wowww i love the editing style and the cinematography! who edits these?
Thanks so much!! Mr. Canuck does all his own editing and filming. Here spends dozens of hours editing after a cruise - and when he's not editing, he's reading and studying more techniques in filming and editing. Of course, he's his own worst critic and keeps pushing for better.
Genova👍, music👌👌
Lep pozdrav iz Slovenije
Thanks you for watching!😊
happiness is an empty pool area!
Very true!
I've stayed at the Bristol Palace Hotel in Genoa several times, you're right they're lots of narrow walkways
And I think the The Airport name is Marco Polo
Cool!
Nice spot.
Woh!! if you are cruising in Europe you need to do it in July august or maybe September and preferably on a British or European cruise line. but many thanks for the post.
We did it in August last year - much preferred the cooler temps in October.
Hi again from Australia
Enjoyed Genoa Vlog.
What was the name of the cathedral you went inside of?
Noticed one castle was closed. When travelling in Europe many sites can closed Monday or Tuesday. First thing I check.
Noted you were in Toulon on a Sunday. Unfortunately most shops etc. are closed on many countries of Europe. One needs to check their schedules and where they are on a Sunday. If we are doing a week or more land trip we try to travel by train to next location. Stations are open all days.
Keep on providing the videos. Love a different perspective
Keith in Australia
It was Genoa Cathedral or
Cattedrale Metropolitana di San Lorenzo.
Come Cannucks you should have taken this cruise with Marella but credit to you both for making the best of it.
Princess ships are so modern and classy. We are excited to be back on this same ship in a couple months. We’d prefer Marella over more port options and options for those not needing flights included.
So it appears Mrs. Canuck started the episode with a red medallion and at dinner had a black one...is there a story behind that?
The black medallion is Mr.Canuck’s.It has to been shown to go to the Elite party in the evening and since Mr.Canuck doesn’t wear a lanyard then Mrs.Canuck wears it.🛳
Loved all of Natasha Lester’s books. Since reading that book I’ve been wanting to try a French 75. How was it? What does it taste like if you had to describe.?😊
It was tasty but you would have to like a strong flavour drink to enjoy it.
Do you ever go to the wine tastings?
We have done two wine tastings on NCL prior to vlogging. It was great find and really enjoyed it.🍷
There is so much amazing food in Italy but you are at the buffet???
It was a day of exploring for us and we were exhausted with bad weather closing in. We had several more stops in Italy and certainly weren't going to miss the food there or other spots to come in Greece, France and Turkey. 22 days is a marathon and the battle between spending more on local food vs the food we already paid for on the ship for 22 days is real and can add up quickly.
Which esim do you use?
A company called Orange. We used the 30GB Holiday Eurole sim and barely used the data (even though we used it for a one hour live!) It's our second time using this company and its worked great.
after watching this vlog my wife and now know3 that Princess is not for us , many thanks Canucks for the info.
We will certainly cruise Princess again. Of course sprinkling in other lines. No such thing as a bad cruise - it's a privilege to be able to travel on any cruise.
@mickthompson584
I hope you've watched other vlogs. Not everyone does the same thing when they're on the ship...so I'm curious as to what has put you off Princess.
Why didn’t you have lunch at the two ports you’ve visited? That’s the best part of visiting the different countries.
It was a 22-day cruise, and we simply couldn't afford to eat out at every port - especially knowing our cruise fare included so much food on the ship. Throughout the 22 days we picked our opportunities to spend money on local food. We were just at Genoa a year before and had tried the pizza. We find the culture, the people, the history and the scenery to be the best part of visiting different countries. For us, sometimes that means trying some food - sometimes we're saving for what's yet to come in the cruise.
