My wife and I just returned from cruising on the MSC seashore and found your information to be very accurate. It is a beautiful ship and for the price a great value. There are still some things for MSC to learn about American cruisers but overall I was very happy with most of the cruise. I would definitely go with MSC again.

We just disembarked from MSC seashore on January 19… We had a wonderful cabin steward who introduced himself immediately… And immediately we asked for washcloths and they were provided every single day… we love a hard mattress so for us we slept like babies.... totally agree about the pillows… I asked our cabin steward for another pillow which solved my problem immediately and he accommodated me that very same day ... we were also aware that it is MSC's policy not to provide bar soap which I happen to use in the shower and tissues so we brought our own .... sorry to hear you had that drain issue… Sounds awful… totally agree about the shower being tight… It was doable but a bigger shower would've been so nice !!! Appreciated no shower curtain that's for sure !! We prefer only having our cabin serviced once a day so we asked him to service our cabin in the morning… He was one of the best cabin stewards that we've ever had…
We chose to only eat at specialty dining for dinner since it was just a four night cruise and we found the meals to be delicious… HOLA was the most fun in our opinion but they all tasted delicious
Totally agree with you about the elevators… Didn't care for them at all
First thing we do when we do eat in the main dining room on any cruise line is check out our table assignment… We always request a table for two and if that request isn't met we seek out the maître and ask for a change and have always been accommodated.... also the only time you get anytime dining on MSC is if you choose the AUERA experience . if you have Bella or Fantastica experience you must choose either first or second seating.. we do wish there was the option for all experiences to be able to choose anytime dining…
We totally loved the private island and I know what you mean about the cart drivers going fast but I know that all of them were there to keep the island maintained and they were just doing their job… I didn't find any of them to be rude… it would've been ideal if they had their own road to to travel to travel on but they didn't so I guess we just needed to share the space… I never felt like I was going to be run over but I do agree that they go pretty fast
Appreciate your honest opinion… I hope your next MSC cruise is wonderful… What ship will you be on… We will be back on the MSC seashore in September 2024

I saw elsewhere that you have to request washcloths from the steward. And I certainly would have been on that room phone calling to have them clean up that water mess! Thank you for posting all this information. Hoping MSC can get their act together about some common issues before I sail in November

We are on the Magnifica now, and have washcloths!!! ❤️ Great room steward too. Maybe a ship by ship thing? We were actually getting off the next morning, or we would’ve definitely called about the water issue. But we did leave a new note for the room steward to let him know what was going on.
After this cruise on the Magnifica, we can say we really truly love MSC! Vlogs will be coming. 😎🛳️❤️

thank you for your review. I'm getting ready to get back on the ship in a couple months. I have cruised Msc before along with all others. Your remarks are pretty spot on.
A couple of potential solutions moving forward for you, yes the room stewards are trying to provide you your privacy-- that's why they're not visible. that is a cultural thing. Simply leave a note for them the first day requesting extra wash cloths and any other needs you might have-- extra glasses etc. You can also ask them to switch out your pillows.
regarding the dining room, simply go talk to the maître d' and they can move your table. Ive found that all the cruise lines are extremely accommodating if you'll just let your requests or your disappointments be known. They're eager to find solutions for you.

Hello to Weinke World Adventures. Prior to taking our 1st MSC cruise, I watched a LOT of RUclips video's about what to expect on MSC.
To our surprise, our experience on the Seashore ship in October and November 2023, far exceeded our expectations.
Also, I want to say that I like your style of presentation as you are not hyper and blaring at us, but rather calm, slow and methodical, like a mature grown-up.
Yes, the bed mattresses were too hard for my preference and my back was not happy with that hard mattress. My husband thought it was fine.
It is all subjective and a personal preference.
Respectfully I would like to disagree with you on a few points:
    1. The "Smart" elevators were fine and worked well.
It was a PLEASURE that once on the elevator, it didn't stop at every darned floor because somebody on that floor has pressed the button but had already boarded another elevator.
There was never any problem with pressing the button for the elevator and then assigned elevator would arrive as said.
    2. True The MSC App didn't work well from home, but it worked perfectly well when we were on the ship.
The Menu for the day and about 4 days ahead, IS on the app and it was GREAT to be able to read the menu on the app prior to going to a dining room
and knowing what we want to order before going to the MDR, or tomorrow or the next day and the next day and so on.
    3. Our Cabin Steward was absolutely perfect, engaged and not only helpful but overly helpful.
We don't even like a cabin steward coming into our room once a day or every 2nd day, so we told the Cabin Steward to not come into our room more than once every 3rd day or so.
Cabin Stewards work hard enough and we do not like to be treated like we are Masters and they are our slave.
    4. Like you, we too asked for early seating at the MDR. When we boarded, we found out that we were given a late seating in the MDR.
We went to the person in charge of the MDR, and within a minute he had our seating changed to the early dining.
    5. For their protection in case a management type from MSC is reading this, I won't say who or where or what position the two staff members were, but they were so friendly and comfortable with us that we became personal friends. We exchanged e-mail addresses and we keep in contact with them months after we disembarked. Absolutely the crew is friendly but like all people, some people are not as eager to fawn over a customer because we never know what else is going on in their life, which leads me to the next point.
    6. Staff Friendliness: The MSC staff was absolutely perfect! We have been on other cruise lines, which we also like, but one of the dislikes of other cruise lines and likes of MSC, is that on other cruise lines they are nearly fawning over us. We strongly dislike that fawning over, whether it be to get an extra tip or that we mention their name on the Feedback Cards so that they can get a promotion, or worst of all, we abhor the idea that we need to be treated like royalty or divas or like they are our slaves there to serve us.
Yes, there are staff to provide us a service but not to fawn over us.
    7. You mentioned it, but what was absolutely gross to us, was the excessive allowance of space given to smokers, and there is a LOT of smokers on MSC. Our balcony room was on the 14th deck, Starboard side. The whole length of the promenade on the Starboard side is Smoking friendly. We could always smell cigarette smoke wafting up while on our balcony, while the ship was in mid ocean and going 18 knots, with an outside wind. We could NEVER walk on the outdoor walk-way on the Starboard side of the ship because it was filled with too many smokers and smoke. Not only were the smokers allowed to smoke on the whole length of the Starboard side on the outdoor deck, but really they smoked anywhere on the whole of the ship, on the outdoor decks, wither it be at the pools or the bar on Deck 16. In the end, it seemed that the only place that the smokers didn't smoke - and the only place where we weren't coughing from cigarette smoke being everywhere else, was on the Port side of the outdoor deck.
    8. Muster Drills May Save Your LIfe! When you do the T.V. Muster drills, you might not know what to do in times of a REAL EMERGENCY.
Yes, the MSC Muster Drill is more old fashioned than the modern way of watching the TV, but when it was over I was thankful that I had to walk down the the 12 flights of stairs and to actually go to "the" Muster Site where I would have to go if there was a real emergency AND to watch the information on the TV AND to phone it in that I watched it.
In the end, I felt that and that everybody else was better trained to know what to do if we had to face a real emergency, which is after all, not just about saving my own life,
but about also being able to save the life of somebody else or that somebody else may have to save our life.
Never ever take the easy way out of ANY Emergency Training, as some day (hopefully never) somebody else who *paid attention* might save be saving your life,
or that you save somebody else's life. Likewise, listen up and pay attention to the safety training, EVERY time you are on a plane.
At the time of the Muster Drill, I was really miffed that I "had" to walk down from our 14th floor cabin to the 8th Floor Muser Point. I don't have good knees so walking stairs isn't easy for me, in fact, slow and painful. On a completely unrelated issue, after this cruise on the Seashore, I wanted to learn more about what happened, what went wrong and what was the reason that the people died on the "Costa Concordia" ship when it hit a rock so close to shore - couldn't the people have just swam to shore the short distance?
What horrified me - the thing of nightmares is that in at least 2 different elevator cars, several people died *inside* the elevator cars!
I think that of the 32 people who died, "10" people died inside elevator cars. I stand to be corrected on this number.
That thought was so upsetting that I couldn't bear to read anymore.
But, with as much as I read, I was VERY GRATEFUL that the MSC Seashore made me walk down those 12 flights of stairs to get it into my brain to NEVER underestimate the situation and to NEVER think that taking an elevator car is OK or that my sore knees and slow walking up or down stairs gives me a *pass* to take the elevator car, and that I am capable and that I could make it down the 12 flights of stairs in case of an emergency.
Of anything that we do or learn, we MUST have it locked into our brain to know what to do and what not to do in case of an emergency
    9. As for being rushed, we never felt that anymore than any other cruise line or ship.
Number 7, the excessive allowance for smokers was our worst complaint about the MSC company.
I am sorry that the drain in your shower got plugged up, as no business ever wants that to happen on their premises.
Issues happen, even in our own homes. I am sorry that happened to you.
Prior to taking our 1st MSC ship cruise, by all what we had read and watched, we didn't expect much, in fact we were expecting it to be full of rude staff, boring food and not much more than a cargo ship. Very quickly we were pleasantly surprised at how good the Seashore ship, the staff and the food was.
    Thank you.

Hi Ruth! Thank you so much for sharing your detailed experiences and thoughts about your cruise on the MSC Seashore! That is very helpful to know how your experience differed from ours, and also what you agreed on. I’m sure this will help other sailors who read this! I will say that we loved our cruise on the Seashore, and also our recent cruise on the MSC Magnifica. We did have a quite different experience there (we are working on the Vlogs now), so it might all be relative as to who your room steward ends up being, the staff you interact with, as well as acclimating to the ways of MSC. 😊
We will definitely be sailing on MSC again! 🛳️
Thanks for taking the time to write your review!

Good Morning to @@weinkeworldadventures Thank you very much for taking my feedback with the sincerity that I intended. That shows what noble people that you are.
As an example about something that we our Cabin Steward told us that in ports, the staff likes to go off the ship to eat either Chinese food or at Burger King or McDonalds, as the ships chefs don't cook any South Asian food. That is too bad as on the other ships that we have been on, the staff told us that they always have access to south Asian food in their mess halls. People like trying foreign foods but in the end, everybody feels best when they can eat their own comfort food.
One day at a port stop, I had the time and as I was walking back to the ship I passed by a Burger King.
I stopped at the Burger King to buy our Cabin Steward a double or triple patty burger. When I arrived back to our room on the ship, I quickly found our cabin steward as he was always working in our area, and handed him the bag of burger. He was very happy but then he insisted that he had to share that burger with his assistant.
That wasn't my intention but that told me everything about the type of person that he is, where he wouldn't take any full credit for anything and shared his victory with his assistant, whom I later met and yes, he too was a kind man who was always asking us what more we wanted, like "Madam, do you want more towels? Madam, can we take your garbage out? Madam, do you want your sheets changed?" and so on.
What I didn't say in my original posting is that I agreed with you on everything about the "Pro" or positive of the Seashore, which you correctly identified 10 out of many "Pros" that there was to the ship.
Again, I really like your style of presentation where your "Rapid Fire" is calm and methodical, and not all hyped up. You present like adults, nice adults.
Thank you very much. .... I just subscribed to your channel.

We couldn't use our room during the daytime for 5 days. The workers were working on the balcony and needed excess through our room. At the end of the cruise, we stood in line for over 2 hours. Listening to the announcements in several languages was bad. Some of the shows on the main stage were sometimes in foreign languages. Need I continue. Many people on the ship said the same things, ONE-AND-DONE with MSC.@@weinkeworldadventures

thank you for taking the time to do this report... we are on this ship in April... couple of questions...what experience did you book? did you talk to head waiter about changing table? did you get tissues and hand towels from room attendant? did you receive any offer to upgrade your room? how far in advance did you book?

    • @weinkeworldadventures
      @weinkeworldadventures  4 месяца назад

Hi there, Greg! You are very welcome. 🤗
We booked our cruise just about a month before we went, so it was kind of a last-minute thing. We did receive an offer to bid on an upgrade, but opted not to do it as we already had a balcony.
We decided not to book any shore excursions, as we’ve been to Nassau before, and just wanted to see the new port there… and there was plenty to do on the Ocean Cay island for us without an excursion. 😎
We definitely could have talked to the headwater or maître D about switching tables, but felt that would be awkward if we ran into the people that we had been seated with originally- they were very nice people by the way. It was just that we would’ve preferred a table for two.
And we had planned to ask our room steward for the tissues or washcloths if we saw him again, but never did. It was just strange that they were never placed in the room originally, or at any point that he came back to make up the room. I also forgot to mention that there was no top sheet on the bed. Maybe this is a European thing?
I hope you have a wonderful cruise in April, and thanks for checking out our channel! 🛳️❤️

This will be our first time with MSC and surprised that we can not bring our own case of water. Were people allowed to at least bring a couple of personal bottles of water? And I noticed on two of your videos a bottle of Acqua Panna. Did you have Drink Package or did you buy the water by the bottle - if by the bottle how much was it per bottle? If you had the Drink package, was it worth it?

    • @weinkeworldadventures
      @weinkeworldadventures  2 месяца назад

Hi Sharon! I’m glad you are finding our videos helpful as you prepare for your Seashore cruise. Unfortunately, you are not allowed to bring water or any sort of beverage onto an MSC ship. However, you can bring an empty water bottle if you would like to fill that in the buffet area. We found the water just fine to drink from the buffet, and also in the dining room. It is treated and filtered. We did receive two of the large Aqua Panna sparkling water bottles with dinner in the dining room each night, and we think that is because we had the Fantastica level “experience”. We kept the bottles and refilled them to keep in the cabin. We did not have the drink package, and we were glad we didn’t get it, as we did not feel we drank enough to make it worthwhile. You can also buy bottles of water individually from any bar, but I’m not sure of the price.
We definitely did miss having our own bottled water in the cabin, though! We drink a lot of water normally, so it was a little more challenging to have to get water from the buffet. Although, technically, you could drink it right from the bathroom faucet, as it’s the same water. 😊 I hope you have a wonderful cruise! 🛳️

Embarking in 32 days! Already knew about the tissues. Did you ever track down your host for washcloths? I've noticed RCL getting stingy with those and towels too lately. I've head good things about Hola! on the Meraviglia, we might try it one night. But we are just doing a 3 night to try MSC out. Hoping embaraktion at the terminal goes as smoothly as our last RCL (Allure) did in November. We were onboard at 11am after parking at 10:30!

Wow, 32 days will fly by! We never did track down our room steward to get washcloths. I suppose we could have called the hospitality number or something and gotten them. But we weren’t even sure they had any? 😂
It was the first time we had ever not seen them in a stateroom. There was also no top sheet on the bed, which could have been a European thing. I hope your embarkation goes well also! Does that ship sail out of New York? That’s a really quick embarkation that you had on the Allure! 😊

We were in the 5th Avenue restaurant for dining and there were a lot of tables for 2 people. The Muster drill was a chaotic mess. I agree about the early disembarkation, not necessary. We always got to see our steward. If she was not around we asked another steward who was more than willing to help. The entertainment was great, Ocean Cay very enjoyable, with food and drink available. Some bartenders would not serve you unless you had a tip in your hand. Overall, its sister ship the Seaside is the same. I would sail with MSC but try a third ship.

We just returned from a 14 day cruise on this ship. Pros for the ship: waiters in dining room gave excellent service but sometimes our food was cold or barely warm. Entertainments was excellent ,especially the productions numbers....costumes, dancing, singing, best I have seen on ships. However, we found as seniors, 70+, there was not enough activities for us to do on sea days. The communication was poor. We couldn’t download the app on our phones so were confused the first few days, until our room steward got us the daily paper. If you are young, traveling with a family or love to drink, (bars everywhere)this is the ship for you. The elevator system was frustrating. Debarkation was a nightmare. We were held up and almost missed our bus to Orlando airport. We tried MSC but will never sail with them again. That is our opinion...

Thank you for the review, we will be sailing on this ship at the end of March. We have sailed on other MSC cruise ships. We normally cruise in the YC or the Aurea experience levels. However the last cruise we were on the MSC Magnifica with the Fantastica level. We were seated at an 8 top table it was rather awkward. We went to the dining room manager and changed it for us to have a table for two for the rest of the cruise.
My experience with MSC I have noticed the service is more formal and not that chatty that is fine with us. They are hardworking and have other people they have to attend to. The service reminds me of going into Quebec.
Never had standoffish or rude service. Direct and short yes.
Maybe you'll have a better experience on the next ship.

We did a 3 night cruise. The ship is an older ship but well taken care of. It had a nice feel to it.
The cabin was an aft balcony , it was great. The bathroom was clean and a bit dated. Our cabin Stewart was wonderful . He did morning service and evening turn down ( also ended up with a rare towel animal) .
We ate all but one meal in the main dining room. ( We are not buffet people). However we did enjoy the seating outside the buffet.
When arriving to Ocean Cay we got to see the tug boat in action. It was rather exciting.
After that my acid reflux decided to kill the rest of vacation. With that said, we didn't step into Ocean Cay on this trip.

Apparently MDC has adapted more to the American Market.
Add ons are common. For a budget, value for money, it appears to be good.
It would help if we knew what kind of cruisers you are. You mentioned Carnival. That IMHO sets the bar pretty low.
Cruising dining was assigned to big tables before COVID. Tables for two were a luxury. It’s a matter of volume and space.

    • @weinkeworldadventures
      @weinkeworldadventures  2 месяца назад

Hi there Lorena, and thanks for sharing your thoughts. It is true that MSC is making adjustments for the American market. Now that we have sailed on another MSC cruise, we can say that we saw a lot of positive changes. We actually have two more MSC cruises on the books for a year from now! So, although we believe there are things they can improve on, we are overall very happy with the cruise line!
We have actually sailed on several other cruise lines, including Disney, Norwegian, Princess, Carnival, Norwegian, and recently Royal Caribbean. No matter what cruise line we sail on, there are always things that we see that could probably be improved upon, and that is why we do these videos. 😎
The reason we brought up the dining room situation is because we wanted others to be aware that they need to request a table for two in advance if they want one, as that is not something that they can just expect. Having become accustomed to anytime dining, which is not available on MSC unless you are in Aurea class, (My Choice) a table for two in the main dining room is not just something that one can get with a last minute notice. 🛳️

MSC is different in some respects, but not bad by any means. Now that we have gone on two MSC cruises, I can see and appreciate the differences more. We will definitely be sailing on MSC again! Im very grateful for your review as I have booked a cruise on the seashore in the near future. I dont want you to be upset with anything that im going to say. I realize that every individual is going to have and is entitled to their own opinion when it comes to their experience. I have watched a lot of reviews on MSC and their cruises and feel as if I need to leave this here. The following are a few things that I feel people should know. These things were not all specifically mentioned in this review. Cruise lines are a business with a lot of moving parts and personnel. These are human beings who are dealing with a foreign shipping company and their rules and regulations. These people are also away from their homes and lpved ones for a job, not a vacation. There are also companies that are still dealing with "Covid" however, they feel the need to. This leads to understaffing, and im sure quite a few of these people are overworked. Please allow them to do their jobs without being overly friendly. I understand that they work in the tourist or hospitality industry. But, give these people a break. The second thing I would like to mention is the food. These ships can and often carry some 5000 odd passengers from various nationalities. They only way to please the vast majority of people, from this amount of countries is to make the food on the bland side. I would also like to mention the performances given at the different stages etc. This company can not be expected to bring something that every single soul on board is going to enjoy. Open your minds and just take it in. If you dont care for crowds, don't go on a cruise. If you dont want to deal with snot nosed tourist workers, don't go on a cruise. Im done with my rant. Great content!! I will be watching more of it.

    • @weinkeworldadventures
      @weinkeworldadventures  4 месяца назад +1

Thanks for sharing your opinions, Joe! I agree with a lot of what you have written, actually. I’m sure the crew are very stressed being away from home and learning their jobs, sometimes having to work long shifts, which are understaffed. However, a smile can go along way, and good customer service is something that should be a valued no matter what the nationality. We have experienced great customer service on other cruises, and I’m sure they have some of the same stressful issues.
As for the food, shows, etc., I hope you have watched our other videos? We actually had a great cruise, and were very happy with these areas. I’m guessing you got some of these comments from other videos you have watched from other content creators. There’s sure a lot of opinions out there, and we were actually shocked that many of those opinions were pretty harsh. We loved the food and the shows! So, just wanted to put that out there. How can people complain about a ship like the Seashore when the price point for many people is unbelievable when compared to other cruise lines. A large population of the Seashore are first time cruisers with kids (who go free under 12) when they go on the Seashore are willing to put up with the inconveniences associated with a large ship (since they cannot afford other cruise lines). If you are unwilling to live with the disikes posted here then go Yacht club and you will get a premium small ship experience. You cannot have both and not pay for an upscale experience (such as Yacht Club). And the comment about the Yacht club having the best views on the ship remember that people are paying for that premium experience. Seashore delivers for general population and Yacht club cruisers. Make a choice which experience you want .

I’m a little confused. Your like was getting your room cleaned twice a day but your dislike pertaining to your stateroom is you didn’t see your cabin Stewart to ask for washcloths. That’s so strange to have your cabin cleaned twice a day for your cruise length and not see your steward in order to ask for washcloths and tissue.

Some people are too polite and are afraid to speak up and ask that could be a reason. They didn't want to bother the staff. While others will not ask and then do a TikTok and complain about the service. I don't think WWA had intentions the last example.

@@dgaither3838 I definitely don’t think they were complaining. It’s bizarre all by itself not to include wash cloths in the bathroom. I just can’t imagine not asking for a washcloth or leaving a note for my steward since I would need one. Thanks for your thoughts on this.

We were a little confused by it all too! He did come in twice a day, which was awesome to have towels replenished, and the agenda for the next day and such. However, we never saw him! Just that first day when we had to hunt him down to ask about the muster drill.
Since we didn’t have a top sheet, either, we started to wonder if maybe Europeans didn’t use washcloths…. Or Kleenex. And actually we were embarrassed to ask. 😂
We thought if he had forgotten the first day, he would certainly put them in the second day, but that never happened. We don’t like to complain either, so we just let it all go.

Thank you. Yes, we aren’t ones to complain and I always try to see the positives in everything, but it was puzzling why he never brought the washcloths. We just chose to let it go. Now I have heard others say that they did not receive washcloths either, so apparently it was not just us. Not a big deal, but something that we thought everyone should be aware of.

I actually made do with the bath towel instead of using the washcloth, so it wasn’t that big of a deal at the time. We were too busy out having fun and making videos! But I felt it was important enough to mention in our video in case other people have the same issue.

You’re confirming my reasons to never try MSC 😂

Oh no, sorry about that! We did really enjoy the cruise overall. We’re taking another MSC cruise on Monday on the Magnifica. It will be interesting to see if we experience the same things there. Stay tuned! 😎🛳️

Being standoffish, rude or practicing dangerous behavior would ruin my cruise. I don’t need “friends” but common courtesy and niceties.
We do require safety and respect.
I had almost decided to try MSC. More research.

I do think MSC is working on trying to educate their staff to be a little bit more hospitable, social, and friendly. We recently went on the MSC Magnifica, and had a much better experience! I will say that the safety issues were on the Ocean Cay island, mainly with the staff that were driving shuttles and golf carts around. That is just something to be aware of. They do need better training on that, for sure! But in general, I would say that the staff are getting better at not being so standoffish. In fact, our recent waiter was amazing! 🤩
I would give MSC a try. We really did have good cruises on both ships that we went on. There are just things that could be improved upon, like on any cruise.
