Next time I recommend going to the mountains, on any of the popular trails, for example, to see the “Valley of 5 Ponds” (Dolina 5 Stawów in PL) or the waterfall “Great Siklava” (Wielka Siklawa in PL), I guarantee that your jaw will drop to the ground from the views. Of course, you need to be physically prepared, because these are long hikes where you do 25-30 km of walking each (15-18 miles). If you want more excitement and adrenaline, you can always go to the highest peak (Rysy), where in good weather you can see part of Poland as well as Slovakia “from a high perspective”. It's awesome :D.
Thank you so much! Those all sound amazing! I'm adding them to my All Trails list so we can do them when we are back in the area! As soon as we started walking to Lake Morskie Oko and saw all of the trail signs we knew we had to come back for a month so we could get some good hikes in! Great recommendations! Thanks for watching our video! 🇵🇱❤️
@@SlowTravelWithUs I don't know how long you plan to stay in Poland, but the best and SAFEST time to go hiking in the Tatras is from the second half of August, to mid/end of October. In spring, early summer, late autumn, or winter, of course, you may encounter snow or ice and avalanche dangers (on some trails), which increases the risk of accident or injury. In addition, during this period (August-October) the weather is the most stable and it is still very warm. Of course, seeing these trails at different seasons also has its own unique atmosphere, but nevertheless it is better to bet on safety. The Tatras may not be the highest mountains, comparing to, for example, Alaska mountains in the US, but statistically looking and comparing with other mountain ranges, a surprisingly high percentage of accidents here end in death. Returning to Zakopane for a month is a good start to see at least some of the most popular places, although it would probably take years to see them all if you count the Slovak side of the mountains (by the way, Slovakia has its own version of Morskie Oko, which is also beautiful and you can get there by special bus from Zakopane, I recommend, it's called “Štrbské Pleso” in PL Szczyrbskie Jezioro).
@@maxalbon9557 We are no longer in Poland, but we do plan on returning soon. When we go back to Zakopane to hike in the Tatras we'll follow your advice and definitely be careful. Maybe Late August into early October would be a good time. Thank you so much for that recommendation and those precautions. I'm sure that staying a month, we would barely scratch the surface of what there is to see and do in the area, especially with all of the hiking trails available. That's interesting about the Slovakia side, taking a bus to that side sounds nice too. There's so much to do and see! I'm taking notes on all of these names! Thanks again for your responses!
Interesting video, thank you. I watched it with pleasure. I am Polish, but I have only been to Zakopane once, as a child, which is a very, very long time ago. God bless you!
Thanks for the video! This is one of the places we wanted to visit and now I know we can go up for the day using the train. Keep of the great work. Love your videos! 🙏🏽💗🇵🇷
Thank you for watching! The Zakopane area is gorgeous! You'll love it there! In our experience it was easy to get around using public transportation everywhere we went in Poland. ❤️🇵🇱
this mountain behind the Zakopane sign is called Giewont. We call her the sleeping knight. we even have a legend about him. Take a look... doesn't he remind you of a sleeping knight?
@@SlowTravelWithUs I recommend another mountains for you next trip - Beskidy and the Bielsko-Biała city where I was born. These mountains are much smaller but also very pretty.
I feel sorry for you guys, lack of menu in English is ridiculous , I would be really happy to translate this menu for you but unfortunately I wasn't there at that time, BUT for future reference you can always use google translator on your phone using phone camera, with this you can read anything in any language even in Vietnamese😝 I guess you didn't think about that did you? 😁
Google Translate is definitely our friend when traveling but not always knowing exactly what we are ordering is part of the adventure😉 Polish food is delicious so we weren't worried. Thank you for watching our video!
Hi people Is it safe to travel to zakopane right now this question is because of the flood situation in southern Poland? Hope to hear from you soon ☺️ Shobhna this side
I believe the horse carriage ride up to get you closer to Morskie Oko is 15 zł, just under $4 USD or €3.50. That's the current price as of Summer 2024.
You are correct, the Tatras are part of the Carpathian Mountain Range. We used "Alpine" as a descriptive word and didn't mean it in the literal sense. Thank you for watching! ❤️🇵🇱

We don't know if this area has been affected. You may get up to date information by contacting the national park or even the hotel.
Polish here -> It is :). Zakopane was unaffected by flooding (different region).
It's about 15€

Zakopane is not an Alpine city. The Tatra Mountains are not the Alps.

Alpine is a type of terrain. Alpine doesn't mean in the Alps lmao
