I just rinse each bag, with the tea inside , press the water out, then put in the top drawer of the fridge till I've gathered like 10 or so. then I'd take them out, already dried , cut the very top with scissors and hand open lengthwise..
Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment, but you can use any tea bags...no need to buy special shapes...unless, like me, you like the rectangles...;)
Oh Dianne what a Sweetheart you are!! I got so excited this morning that I did my tea bags. They turned out so pretty!! Thank you so very very much!!! Looking forward to seeing how you use them in your collage pieces.
I need to do some more. I dry mine completely in the sun and then open them. Some tear but I don't mind because it looks effective with uneven edges for my style of art. Nice video, Di 😊
I make a small slit on one side, just inside the outside seam, and tip out the tea. You can either use the empty bag as it is, or cut away one side. I also lay out wet teabags before emptying them, on watercolour paper, and as they dry, they leave gorgeous marks on the paper which you can use for art. I've done miniature zentangle art on these, using a fine sepia pen shoshiplatypus.blogspot.com/2014/03/teabag-art2nd-row-of-zentangles.html, and I've used some of the marks from round ones to imitate sawn-off tree logs shoshiplatypus.blogspot.com/2016/12/woyww-392more-on-mamhead-album.html.
Thank you so much for the reminder! I uploaded the video late last night and forgot to add the iCard link to the previous video :( ...all fixed now. The video can be found at ruclips.net/video/jqsjdhgVDiw/видео.html. Thanks for watching, Dx
I certainly do Nancy, if I am making tea dyed papers, but mostly I use the bags we have used for making cups of tea...we tend to use these more these days than loose tea in a pot. ;) Di

Thanks Hillie...yes I don't mind the tears and folds either...they can add to the texture and interest, especially on collage...X
Was wondering how this was done and what kind of tea is used. Thanks for sharing.

what do you do with round tea bags? How do you empty them, dry them, use them?
Janet Cooper I haven't used/seen round tea bags for many years, but you have given me a challenge...Give me a week or so and I will show you. Dx

Do you ever save the tea for tea dying?
I certainly do Nancy, if I am making tea dyed papers, but mostly I use the bags we have used for making cups of tea...we tend to use these more these days than loose tea in a pot. ;) Di
Now what?
