You can get a good amount of static charges through the SotO reward track in PvP and WvW, especially if you have the Candycorn and Snowflake Gobbler, which give 75% more reward track when stacked, add guild buff for another 10% and you are at 85%. I spent all mine a couple days ago and have just been doing moderate amounts of PvP to finish the dailies and weekly and am back up to nearly 1k static charges already.
Oh wow, that’s another amazing way to collect them! This guide is more just for PvE gaming if you just wanna ‘chill’ farm them I’d say. But this is great advice, if anyone wants to go take advantage of this!
Thats really cool! I was looking for a filler activity when I don't do other dailies. Running around lighting lamps while netflix is on the other monitor got a loooot more attractive as a filler Option through that 😊

i find that collecting the orange orbs that reset the skyscale stamina (idk the name of them) once a day gives about 100 per map currency except for inner nayos which is about 200
Yes they definitely do provide that. Once you’ve done that daily, if you want more, this is a great way to get it fast. You don’t have to wait for a daily reset
Wasn’t to crazy about secrets of obscure but the last several days I decided to work on the last few chapters so I can finish and I’ve just got all the lanterns done and some meta events and I’ve been enjoying it. The first few days I grinded inner nayos I didn’t have skyscale so it was a very bad experience
Yeah its not TOO bad of an expansion, but it definitely has its flaws. Doing the content without a skyscale...that sounds rough... The metas are pretty fun as well (spiders lair is fun too, but very hard to complete). Hopefully you have your skyscale now at least to make it more easy and enjoyable to traverse the area!
if your doing the lanterns also collect the astral chest along the way as they are about 5-15 map currency each so by the end youll likely have 300-400 currency with the exchange of the currency
I wish we could trade one map's currency for another. I got Soto late (right before the launch of the last update) and the meta for skywatch is not within my play hours (unlike amnytas and convergence) so I'm always starved for skywatch map currency. But yeah, the lanterns + the orange balls get me to 250 = 1 case of captured lightning. Time to squeeze "map completion" of skywatch between convergence and reset (amnytas). Thanks for this!
I do too, especially considering you can get more than 100 (maybe up to 200) per day with the energy balls in Inner Nayos specifically, and Arenanet kinda sent us there for a long time, so I feel like everyone accumulated a lot of Nayos currency to which we can barely trade it over. No problem, glad it helped!! Good luck getting all the mats you need! I’m still collecting too 😂

You can exchange currencies for another map currency with the daily tabs this vendor provides. However it's 25 for 10 limited at one purchase with each type of currency.
It took me roughly 20 minutes for 1 map complete. That’s 3 gifts per hour so 600 of the respective currency. If each one is worth 4 silver according to fast farming, that’s 24 gold an hour. Not a bad farm for just map completing. Definitely something you can do if you enjoy doing map completion or are bored of other farming methods.
@@untamedsensei Mb I meant 20 minutes for a lantern run not map complete. The lanterns only appear after you complete the map so you can’t double down. I was farming the gifts for the obsidian armor and it took me a little less than 20 minutes for a full lantern run when using taco.
You actually can double down because once the map has been completed by any single character on your account, other characters you create that haven't completed the map can also complete the lanterns 😉 Ah gotcha - 20 min latern completion. Nice work! I haven't yet timed myself on it yet! I'm trying to complete my Kryptis essence collection first 😏

I’d argue it’s not, because farming the chests for the charges (or any of the currencies you need) is unreliable. This method is reliable. Ideally you should be collecting from the greater chests regardless for separate reasons, I.e. rares / golds, and the passive map currency then becomes a bonus. (A LOT of globs of ecto are required for the legendary armors)

Which marker Pack are you using that shows the specific mounts to use etc? I've been using Tekkit's which works but that one looks useful.
I use the Teh's Trails marker pack! It's super useful, and has all the lanterns plus map completions!

It is much much faster to get static charges by farming the big chests, it takes 15min or less and you get roughly 200 of them + a few golds

@thevlogsensei id say do a chest run in between lantern runs, and hitting chests as you fly by them on lantern runs
