In our series, "Inspiration from the Holy Quran," Sayyid M.B. Kashmiri visits various Islamic centers in the Washington metropolitan area and takes an exegetical look at the Islamic calligraphy in the interior and exterior of each center.
Through the exegesis of the verses of the Holy Quran, he aims to derive inspiration and lessons from the holy book for the Month of Ramadan.

*1. For the adhaan: Umar changed 'Haya Al Khairul Amal' in the adhaan during the Prophet's time. (Al Muwatta';42) (Al Mussanaf ibn Abi Shaibah; 1/189) (Sunan Al Tirmidi 1/381)*
*2. Salah: He ordered people to fold their hands during salah - something that was never done by the Prophet (saw). Shaykh Sayyed Saabiq admitted in his book (Fiqh as Sunnah) that there is no hadeeth that proves the Prophet (saw) ever folded his hands.*
*3. Taraweeh: He started the Tarweeh prayer which was also not practiced during the Prophet (saw)'s time. (Umar himself in Sahih Bukhari (Vol 3, Book 31 hadith 227) and Sahih Muslim says it is "good bid'ah")*
