The youth movement isn't paying off for us. Not enough veteran leadership & experience thou-out the organization. The on ice issue lacking experience, especially with the lead. Way to many blow leads this year. PP is atrocious at best. Ruff needs better assts around him.
As a Sabres fan I want the Pegulas to FIRE Kevyn Adams and give assistant GM Jason Karmanos the reins asap! Karmanos has over 20 years experience , he was with Carolina and Pittsburgh ( twice) when they won Stanley Cups.
How many more gm’s and coaches do we have to go through to realize that the problem is the Pegula’s to begin with. They are the ones whom have been at the helm since this whole thing started!
100% Adams has used the NHL as his development league for his precious prospects. The AHL is where that needs to happen. One decent year in Rochester doesn't mean you should be playing in a top 6 role in the NHL.
Kinda sorta... They are DEVELOPING Benson in the NHL at 19 years old and he is an absolute DAWG! We need more of that tenacity! He never quits, he is fearless and often goes into corners and comes out with the puck. He is responsible in both ends and appears to be a great team player. @5' 9" ... it's amazing to isolate on him and appreciate what he actually brings to the team.
@@chadcousins2563Quinn. Peterka. Samuelsson. Luukkonen. Kulich. 12 other prospects are currently in Rochester. They develop kids in Rochester. You guys clearly don’t pay attention.
@trh8201 You realize there's more to development than having one good season right? The majority of those bums in Rochester will never see the NHL and that's why they are there. Adams rushes every prospect he thinks has actual talent to Buffalo the second they look even remotely good. They aren't the youngest team in the league year after year after year because he's developing them properly.
@trh8201 You forgot Benson and Power, as well as how he attempted to bring Levi into the league immediately then tried to do the exact same thing this year too. I guess you don't pay attention. Can't imagine why these kids are all struggling playing alongside a group of 19-20 year old kids.
Benson is another example. He should be driving offense in Rochester, not being a 3rd line pest in Buffalo. They should’ve dragged out his 10 game tryout, let him play in the world juniors, then given him time in Rochester playing LW with Kulich, Ostlund, or Helenius. Let the kids grow up together.
Is that right? I thought if he played in the WHL last year he would’ve been free and clear to join Rochester this year. I could be wrong. Thanks for the correction. 👍 I thought Seattle did something similar with Shane Wright.
O Reilly won a cup in first year with STL Eichel won a cup in his second year with LV. Reinhardt won a cup in his second year with FLA. The problem isn’t the players, it’s the miserable environment in Buffalo. it’s a terrible place to work in. Ever work for a company that has no idea what it’s doing and as a result it’s a toxic place to be in and you just don’t give a shit? Yeah that’s Buffalo.
All the Sabres problems stem from trading away high end talents like Eichel and Reinhart and having nothing to show for it. All these draft picks and prospects and there is not one difference maker among them. Adams is not a good at evaluating talent. Look around the NHL. There is young talent making a difference. Just not with the Sabres.
Eichel wanted to leave after they didn't want him to have the surgery, can't blame him for doing that - heck, i would have left too. Reinhart wanted to leave and was not going to re-sign so they had to trade him to atleast get something before it's too late.
I really believe everyone under Terry really have tried their very best through the years but have little experience with job at hand. Terry has half assed from second year of ownership. I honestly can’t stand what him and Kim turned this into. Not a Bills fan I don’t care. They are only good bc Terry got lucky with good people and stays tf out of things. Firing Adams won’t change anything. Terry will hire a GM from a volleyball team he went to school with.
Lots of NHL players need 3-5 years to be very good, for example, Chara, Hedman and Pronger all needed until year 5 to be really good, Buffalo has too many young guys who haven't even proven they can score in the AHL on the team. The GM did try to add another top 6 forward this summer but couldn't get it done so we are stuck with Quinn and Benson.
FINALLY. Someone says the thing I've been saying FOR YEARS. You can't win now nor ever with a young squad. I keep saying "let them stew in Rochester" to the point where I'm just beating a dead horse. This organization keeps relying on draft picks to make an immediate impact, not realizing this isn't the NFL or NBA. You can't expect every single pick to be able to just slot in naturally, you have to see what they can do one level lower first. Hell, just leave everyone there until they're at least 23. Maybe leave Levi there until he's 24...
The solution is to bring in someone with experience like Ken Holland. Bring in some vets to insulate the kids. A veteran goalie to 1B and insulate UPL. 2 veteran D would be good
See your statement is kindof flawed in the sense that James reimer is a veteran goalie. Jokiharu and Clifton are 2 veteran defensemen. Nothing is working. This team is a disaster and fixing it starts with replacing the owner who has no interest in this team.
@ I am a lifelong Oilers fan. I went through similar pain and although we were gifted McDavid, there is zero doubt in Buffalo you need a super experienced person to lead you out of this. Kenny Holland was not just your typical GM, he was a culture changer, and a salesman, he was able to sell everyone on the Detroit vision. His pedigree and actions delivered winning, even though he made the odd bad trade or signing
@@zacko3515I hated Holland but I can admit he made a bigger impact on making the oilers a contender. Hyman, rnh are on value contracts and the ekholm trade was a robbery. Buffalo needs a experienced gm like him to change the culture
They've been guilty of this as far as I can remember, like even before GMKA, and I think their argument was always that the players were too good for the CHL or college or the AHL. I know a lot of people point to like recent examples like Jack Quinn, but I remember this happening going back all the way forever ago with Buffalo botching Mikhail Grigorenko's development too.
This is long and I’m sorry. We have a youth on our team that hates hard work more than it hates losing. Goals against due to unchecked men in front or lazy backchecks have been a constant. They also feel no pressure. The coach is the coach bc New Jersey is paying his salary. The GM is safe bc he has the excuse of “nobody will come here”, and frankly most of his contracts are untradeable. It all adds us to 44-50-8 at home since 2022, a stat that on any team would’ve never gotten close to that bad before all leadership was fired and replaced. But here we are. So when you see that Owen power has never missed a game due to injury bc he never takes contact ever, this is why.
Quinn and Peterka were in the AHL. Kulich was there. Rosen, Helenius, Ostlund, Novikov, Komarov, Johnson, Kozak, etc, are all there now. They have 12 draft picks in Rochester. They’ve shown great development. Look at Peterka. Quinn looked like a stud. Luukkonen developed down there and he’s shown great talent. This is comical and shows you did no homework. These kids showed great talent and development under Granato. This has nothing to do with that. 🤦🏻♂️
They have too many youngsters in their roster who should not be playing regularly in the NHL. Add too weak defense and lack of physicality. 99% of their penalties are either tripping, hooking or holding and they are taking way too many penalties. Their PP is another embarassement. Many times I feel that they play much better 5on5 than on PP. When looking at deeper stats among their players, Jokiharju is one of the worst defenders in the whole league, been that for few years now.
Out of everyone that was rushed on this team you pick Dahlin!!? He is a stud and playing in the NHL at such a young age, with the skill asset he has made him so much better in the past 2 years. If anyone was “rushed” it is Quinn, Power, Couzens
