Always found the cleaver stuff really fascinating. It’s like he’s trying to make it for the same reason Tony’s going to therapy - but rather than it being a private place to be himself it’s a very public display of his true character.
That is very astute, the public and the private confrontation with behaviour caused by issues and guilt or lack thereof! The fundamental question is: will it be effective in making Tony as good a leader as Carmine senior? Even more so but until he is, it will be hard to verify until it manifests itself as the degenerate gambling old man Soprano warned him about !
It was revenge for Billy Batts, and a lot of other things. And there was nothing that we could do about it. Batts was a made man and Cossette wasn't. And we had to sit still and take it. It was among the Italians. It was real grease ball shit. They even sat on Cossette’s face so Adriana couldn't give her an open coffin at the funeral.
What the hell are you even talking about? You’re mixing up movies and saying things that don’t even make sense. The Sopranos has nothing to do with Goodfellows. In fact, it has nothing to do with revenge at all, it’s about a shadowy flight into the dangerous world of a man who does not exist. In other words, real greaseball shit.

I have a lifelong weight problem so I sympathize with Chrissy's alcoholism and how everyone treated him. Tony and the crooks stage an intervention and chew him out for all he has done wrong as an alcoholic, but then in any social event where he refuses to drink, they treat him like garbage if he refuses to drink, but then if he tries to take one drink just to be sociable they're aghast at that too. I had the same problem. People would get after me to curb my eating and I appreciated that they cared, but then I'd go to family or friend events and the same people that chewed me out for overeating would be pissed off if I didn't eat. And I'd be like oh that's ok no thanks I'm on a diet and they'd be no no, you diet tomorrow, today's a special occasion and they'd shove all kinds of burgers and cake and sugar and treats at me and Id try everything. Carmella really got into Tony's head, she told him his friends aren't real knowing he was depressed and this led him to focus on Chrissy over other guys. She also pointed out Tony was the boss in the movie, which made him take everything else too personally. And something more speculatory, Carmella's prying into Adriana probably made him think Chris himself was a liability since someone could have used that to make him crack, especially when he brought it up to Tony a couple times.
The editing on this is *chefs kiss*. Please make more. I study organizational behavior and going through the Sopranos one of the biggest highlights for me is the dynamic of Chris. What would he have done if he never saw that man at the gas station having a hard time with his family. Would he have made the same decision to go to Tony out of loyalty? Or would his self interest drive him to take Adriana and go? For me- I think he still would have told Tony. A video about this would be awesome.
One thing I noticed is that in Christophers first hit the blood of Emil went over a cleaver, that's also when Chris started to fear hell, I think it ties to that also.

To play devil’s advocate here, Chrissy did have a couple positive qualities as well. As is clear from the series, he was a pretty good earner. Not the best, but he definitely wasn’t a broke either. Also, he was no coward; he didn’t hide under a chair during gunfights, etc. He had balls and maybe had the best aim in the family.
Most of all he was loyal. He didn't go to a shrink to unload all the adjacent secrets of the life like Tony did. He didn't snitch like Bumpensiero. He didn't kill old ladies like Paulie. He didn't womanize like all of the others, minus Bobby. He didn't kill whooaahs like Ralph. He earned, respected the chain of command, and deserved a better boss. True. But I blame Tony for that because he was big boss man larger than life and knew Aid had daddy issues and was a bit afraid of him. Also a bit attracted. Tony was the one heavy flirting and yes he would've tried to kiss her had they not knocked at the door. Even Phil and Joey were looking at the situation like "hmmmmm ok Tony ok!"
“I should strangle you, you little prick!” Absolutely never picked up on that. And I have watched the intervention scene alone several times, one of the funniest. Great way to end your video, thanks!
@Matthew Barry sorry but Chris is a fucking scumbag who only cares about how he’s perceived. He not only Beat her up while recovering from the accident, he doesn’t even apologize to her when he found out the truth, he says “now I look like Johnny jerk off.” All he cared about was himself and learned nothing about treating the only person who ever loved with any proper respect.
@Matthew Barry it isn’t deflecting because everyone including Tony knew it was wrong for him to hit on her. However the issue is that despite knowing it wasn’t real, and the damage it has done, Chris made it worse by putting it in the movie thinking it’s gonna help the movie look cool. You seem to want to make it so Chris was in the right putting it the movie to spite Tony, while yes that is true (also considering Tony admitted to Melfi about wanting to bang her), but it also Stains Adriana’s life again. He again throws someone who he claimed to love under the bus again to either spite someone or make himself look good. So obviously Tony is a real piece of shit for what he’s done, Chris is just as much of a bastard. They both done unforgivable things that destroyed them in the end.
Fantastic piece. Excellent review. I'm wondering when someone is going to make the "real" Cleaver flick? It's actually not a bad movie concept (horror + gangster genres colliding). Plus, upon release the film would have a built-in audience of Sopranos fans.
I think it would have to have a purposefully comedic/ cheesy aspect lol to sort of play on the idea of Christopher’s “talent” being mediocre. I’d definitely watch regardless
@@keevinsworldyayasworld7887 thats literally all of slasher films though. The gangster angle wouldn't be bad because Chris was a gangster so he'd know that kind of story. I'd assume it would be pretty average in quality for the slasher genre and okay to average for gangster film
im telling you rn. After Christopher has the moment at the bing, realizing that no matter what he did, he was still going to be disrespected. Chris hit Tony but Tony had an opportunity to take him out first. The clever fantasy is pretty much is why happened to tony
Excellent video 👌 I watched the one with Tony and Aid in the crash etc not so long ago in my latest rewatching.I was thinking about the absurdity of the Don of New Jersey needing to drive out to Dover to get some coke for him and his niece not so long ago! It's still a great episode but The boss of a family knows only 1 Coke dealer who hangs around his club? Despite all his flaws Christopher will always be such an important character to me in the many icons of this Masterpiece. I relate to him in some ways but thankfully not all! Every time he makes a mistake I often give a Tony like pass to his Behavior. But many times I can't. He doesn't show any gratitude to Tony B for saving his life and relationship with Tony. He keeps resenting his cousin mainly for being reminded of how the 2 of them broke his balls when he was younger which happens among older cousins and siblings. Tony B also breaks Tony's balls with Christopher in on the jokes. Chrissy often had a victim complex His Screenplay?! 🎶 I got an image of Tony with an axe in the snow chasing Chrissy 👏🤣🤣 I absolutely adore Silvio's Passion for the original Halloween that spawned the other slasher movies which the Halloween sequels share more in common with than the original and I'm so glad you brought it up. Tony's pain at believing Christopher's subconscious despises him is one of my favourite Tony Moments for sure. Keep up the good work please 👍
"You know most car crashes are caused by guys popping their load off" - To paraphrase Hesh on that great "chinese whispers" phone call all the "boys" have when Tony has the car crash with Adrianna. Wish they still made TV like this!
Your montage shows some of the best comedy in the show. Christopher was more like the comic relief of the show. Too many moments in the show were more comical than action or drama. The shooting of the foot was my first clue.
I feel like if Tony and Adriana didn’t almost hook up and have the accident, Chrissy’s ending would’ve been MUCH different, but he couldn’t get over the potential betrayal. I kind of feel him a bit.
I have to admit, I never thought of Tony and Adriana still intending to go through with it, but duh, of course they were. They would not have been going to get the blow if they both didn’t know what was going to happen once they did. I had always given them a pass on that, but not anymore.
Excellent analysis and editing of Christopher’s storyline . In the episode Stage 5, in which he premiered his movie Cleaver, has one of the most intense ending scenes of the series. As Chris’s baby was just christened with Tony as The Godfather hug each other and the camera shows their faces filled with ambivalent love and hate plus Evidently Chicken Town in the background. A bit of trivia you probably know is that the legendary Lauren Bacall insisted they let her curse in Luxury Lounge if she was going to appear.
I actually did not know that about Lauren Bacall. That further enhances the scene in my eyes now. And yes, I love the way that Stage 5 episode ends, when it goes from Phil complaining about his legacy "Leotardo", and then it cuts to that Christening.
@@WowLynchWow sorry for the late reply, but I ‘lost it’ for a while. I saw an interview with the actress or David chase, creator of The Sopranos or the writer or director who said she WANTED to say fuck. As for the Stage 5 episode. Yes, Phil sitting at the bar staring at the picture of his dead brother and going on and on about ‘that animal Tony Blundetto killed Billy in cold blood and I did nothing blah blah blah. No more Butchy, no more, cut to christening scene. One of the few things that truly bothered me in The Soprano’s was that after Ade was whacked in Long Term Parking all of a sudden a season and a half later he is with this ‘regular’ girl and they are all married and have a baby . I don’t remember courtship or anything like it Nitpicking or memory loss😝😝
Awesome video man - like always. I very much get something new out of this dynamic whenever I rewatch the series and ultimately understand more and more (an additional reason) why Chris was killed by Tony in the end. Side note: Adriana's dealer was in Dover, NJ not DE. Common misconception but out in North Jersey, Dover is considered so out if the way 'in the sticks' up Rt 80 that it may as well be Delaware 😂.
You my friend, put together a great synopsis. The gabaghol of reflection and inner meanings and things like that. Cheech, get the sausage and peppers...
Exactly. Dover is mentioned a few times in the series. And the "Crazy Horse" is actually a bar on Bloomfield avenue in Bloomfield NJ, directly across from what used to be Channel Lumber.
D'oh! My mistake! I am sure you're both correct that it was Dover, NJ. Although I thought Crazy Horse was supposed to be Long Branch? The doctor mentioning Delaware threw me off when writing that part - I should have just said "Dover". Unfortunately I cannot change the audio on this now that the video is up. Regardless, the greater points regarding the late night drive still stand. Cheers!
The thing that I always wondered about in the Chrissy-Patsy confrontation: If it's not allowed to strike a made guy, how is it OK to pull a gun on one? Seems like Chrissy would have had to answer for that.
He kinda did afterwards when he talked to Tony about it. Pulling a gun 🔫 isn't that much of a no no... Killing one without approval is another whole thing.
Patsy literally spit on him. Patsy had balls of steel I think even with the gun Patsy would've beaten him senseless with the pipe. Then Ralph Bunche would've been spared LOL.
Funnily enough I don't think christopher intended to shame Tony through the movie. As was said the guy is dumb he almost certainly doesn't know about human psychology and unintentionally shared his resentment for Tony on screen. This is also a scenario where I'd see adriana coming in if she hadn't been an informant. She'd likely point it out and he'd remove it from the movie. Hell if she hadn't been an informant she likely wouldn't have almost banged Tony, Tony and Christopher's relationship wouldn't be as poor, Christopher would be a lot less of a junkie if one at all. BUT I still think he would've died in the end. Just in Bobby's place.
@@user-ig9vo1pq4d Bobby was killed because he was Tony's hair apparent. If aid didn't become an informant Chris would've still been tonys intended successor at the time not Bobby. And thus with events with Phil playing out Chris would've been targeted instead of Bobby.
A very good review. I think you were a bit hard on Crissy, sure he wasn't the brightest bulb but neither was he the dimmest. Though the other characters in the show did not compose a competitive field, I'm pretty sure IRL these types are much brighter and more cunning, particularly the higher ups. Though it is interesting to imagine Chrissy's career had he not been connected with Tony. He's one of my fav characters on the show.
Dude, your videos are Top Notch. I've watched a lotta soprano vids here in YT (mainly because our family had to get rid of HBO half way thru the series run of the Sopranos way back when, so I didn't get to see Christopher's junkie GF from ER & Ben Kingsley's cameo's)... and your postings are SIMPLY THE BEST. If I could ask you to do a subject of new post ( if you haven't already) to be on Rosalie Aprile. As I get older I find her to be more & more of a very attractive "older woman" and I think the producers knew this. Any who, keep up the excellent work Geoff, and I look forward to seeing your next post.
Rewatching the series the funniest part is how many people believe Tony when he said Chris was the future of the family. It was just manipulation to keep Chris in like hell when Tony was shot Silvio took over not him. And if Tony ever died Chris would not be next in line and most likely get killed for his habits and would never get in the big seat.
Every time the channels/video creator say “ I diddent or he diddent “ I am busting up laughing. An he nailed that shit every time. All I can hear is Tony asking Christopher if he’s high right before they chop Ralphie’s head off.

Tony was the one heavy flirting and yes he would've tried to kiss her had they not knocked at the door. Even Phil and Joey were looking at the situation like "hmmmmm ok Tony ok!"
Christopher moltisanti "DID - IN - Tint" EVER disappoint -- 😆 I love these videos
Rummy! I just found out you had a whole other channel devoted to my favorite TV show. Kudos to you my man, very cool pass times.
She crawled under there for warmth 😂
“I should strangle you, you little prick!” Absolutely never picked up on that. And I have watched the intervention scene alone several times, one of the funniest. Great way to end your video, thanks!
Spot on Rummy. Luckily, as little Carmine would say, “there’s no stigmata” with being an idiot in The Sopranos.
It's actually Carmine Senior that says that
The only man I know who can break down both Joe Louis and Christopher Moltisanti accurately.
Thank you very much! Most appreciated. Cheers!
The difference between Chris and Eugene is that Chris wasn't made when Tony gave him the ultimatum.
Don’t forget about the Mexican travertine floor tiles. About $30 grand.
They shoulda never have upped him from waiting in the car.
Amazing video, keep making Soprano vids please, still my fav show of all time
I can never forgive Chris putting that sex scene in the movie. Like they proved to him it wasn’t real, but he couldn’t let it go so he included it.
Actually they proved it didn’t happen cause of the accident otherwise they would have done some snow and then some special hot forbidden pumping.
Fantastic piece. Excellent review. I'm wondering when someone is going to make the "real" Cleaver flick? It's actually not a bad movie concept (horror + gangster genres colliding). Plus, upon release the film would have a built-in audience of Sopranos fans.
It would be received worse than Many Saints, only I think people wouldn't eventually warm up to Cleaver.
I think it would have to have a purposefully comedic/ cheesy aspect lol to sort of play on the idea of Christopher’s “talent” being mediocre. I’d definitely watch regardless
Waiting for it still lol. 😂
Chrissy often had a victim complex
His Screenplay?!
Bro you sound just like Rummy’s Corner I love that fucking channel
Had no idea this was Rummy’s Corners other channel haha, I recognized the voice, great work man!!
"You know most car crashes are caused by guys popping their load off" - To paraphrase Hesh on that great "chinese whispers" phone call all the "boys" have when Tony has the car crash with Adrianna. Wish they still made TV like this!
Apparently, he came all over the sun visor.
@@flightofthebumblebee9529 "....And when the paramedics arrived, she still had his **** in her mouth". I would have expected better from, Bobby :)
They were all acting like a bunch of high school girls, just like Ralph said.
Nice vid man, it's extra immersing that you kinda sound like Ray Liotta.
Your montage shows some of the best comedy in the show. Christopher was more like the comic relief of the show. Too many moments in the show were more comical than action or drama. The shooting of the foot was my first clue.
There was nothing comical about the death of tracy
good job.... really quality work! meaningful discussion--and even better visuals!
Thank you very much. Cheers!
I’m dumb af I just checked yo Rummy you’re the GOAT
I feel like if Tony and Adriana didn’t almost hook up and have the accident, Chrissy’s ending would’ve been MUCH different, but he couldn’t get over the potential betrayal. I kind of feel him a bit.
Tony didn't extend the courtesy to Gene to leave because Gene was a made guy whereas Chris was still an associate in season 2. It's not the same
"I did dint ". Lmao "Is that HIM???, With the Sembreo on!!??".
Christophah is a an incredible character. Great upload, Rummy! 🥊
I have to admit, I never thought of Tony and Adriana still intending to go through with it, but duh, of course they were. They would not have been going to get the blow if they both didn’t know what was going to happen once they did. I had always given them a pass on that, but not anymore.
They get a pash for that
Peace; Tony was mad greedy; I remember when Chrissy called him a cooze-hound! 😆 lolol..
I've been binge watching Sopranoes videos lately, yours was easily one of, if not, not my favorite. Thank you.👊✌️
Cleaver was a decent B movie but not worthy of being released on Carmine Jrs sub species
Small correction, but I’m pretty sure the Dover that Tony and Adriana were traveling to for coke is in New Jersey, not Delaware
I don’t remember courtship or anything like it
Nitpicking or memory loss😝😝
No more Butchie, no more of this. Might be the best ending of an episode, excluding the finale
@@klompsauce yes indeed on the disgruntled Phil segment right before they cut to the christening at the church.
That's pretty much my read on the Chris/Tony relationship too. Good analysis!
"I'm the boss Michael" always cracks me up
Love the sopranos content man!! Best show ever
Chris didn’t have the makings of a varsity heroin addict.
True, he was not of Trainspotting caliber.
Your reaching to far with this comment.
Great video! You make some of the finest video essays
Glad you noticed that, the sacred and the propane
You my friend, put together a great synopsis. The gabaghol of reflection and inner meanings and things like that. Cheech, get the sausage and peppers...
It wasn't Dover, Delaware they were going to-it was Dover, NJ, located in Morris County, NJ, west of where they were at the Crazy Horse.
Cheers!
Exactly...I live in Dover , NJ :)
Yeah I’ve never met any connected guys from Delaware.
Borko sends his regards
The thing that I always wondered about in the Chrissy-Patsy confrontation: If it's not allowed to strike a made guy, how is it OK to pull a gun on one?
Seems like Chrissy would have had to answer for that.
He kinda did afterwards when he talked to Tony about it. Pulling a gun 🔫 isn't that much of a no no... Killing one without approval is another whole thing.
At least he didn't throw food at him. Now THAT would have to be resolved.
@@secondcomingofbast9908 You forgot to mention that Vito was a captain now. You can't talk to him like that.
@@paulyC Captain? The good ship 🍭 pop
Patsy literally spit on him. Patsy had balls of steel I think even with the gun Patsy would've beaten him senseless with the pipe. Then Ralph Bunche would've been spared LOL.
A CLEAVER trilogy would’ve been better than The Many Saints of Newark.
Great video, great channel. I love your edits in the end. 😘
Too bad though you did not include the Evidently Chickentown Scene 🙂
Nice job man!! I really enjoyed this😁
Thank you very much! Glad you enjoyed.
I wish they had actually made this movie and released it. A stand alone b horror movie that is part of the Sopranos universe.
You sound like a mix of Ray Liotta and Otto Peterson, two of my favorites.
Why would Christopher be shopping for model trains?
@@user-ig9vo1pq4d Bobby was killed because he was Tony's hair apparent. If aid didn't become an informant Chris would've still been tonys intended successor at the time not Bobby. And thus with events with Phil playing out Chris would've been targeted instead of Bobby.
Beautifully done!
Thank you! Cheers!
The neck brace was my favourite character, and they really did do as much with it as they possibly could have
Christopher moltisanti’s the type of guy that would share sigma male edits at his ig story if he was in this century
You tellin me Tony is Joe Rogan?
A very good review. I think you were a bit hard on Crissy, sure he wasn't the brightest bulb but neither was he the dimmest. Though the other characters in the show did not compose a competitive field, I'm pretty sure IRL these types are much brighter and more cunning, particularly the higher ups. Though it is interesting to imagine Chrissy's career had he not been connected with Tony. He's one of my fav characters on the show.
He's the hair apparent
I’m sorry man I can’t watch one video without think of the narrator of storage wars😂
Im surprised they never did full movie
One of the best channels I’ve ran into in a long time. The commentary is informative, original, funny & top notch. Let me know when you start a patreon for your channel. I’d love to contribute.
I must be loyle to this RUclips channel. Your videos are great.
Thank you very much!
Its nice to get a new look at this...Thank you!
Hey Rummy can you do a video on the boxing matches that play in the background of the Bada Bing?
4:34 LOL!!!
Spoiler alert? For this fuckin' crew? LOL.
5:50 “he didn’t.” Great impression from the Ralphie killing episode.
Chrissy is a Liability
He's a Junkie
Tony HAD To Kill Chris😊😊
very well written video
Many many thanks! Cheers!
I wouldn’t say aj “wasn’t very bright” he was just a normal guy.
