Love Five Thirty Eight and this story. I hope Trump goes straight to jail. Imagine if any of us did this, we would be in jail today. What goes around comes around.
It seems like people are assuming illegal is worse than unethical (them not being mutually exclusive aside), I have the opposite preference. Unethical behavior is a much bigger problem for people in positions of power.

They hoisted roe onto their own petard. So lovely to see the inevitable blowback. The 50 year plan to overturn roe has unleashed a dragon they can’t control. It’s glorious.
Seems like you left out the whole prison thing. Conviction would have one effect. And that may not be big. But prison would likely have another effect, and I would think a bigger effect. And that against the backdrop of losing in the supreme court on immunity and maybe having some properties seized. Seems like it could all together have a significant effect.
I am 30 minutes into this podcast and I have yet to hear the word insurrection, I will Wade through the rest of it but be very disappointed if they manage to ignore the obvious.😮
7:11 but which small part, if it moves a small part of independent voters in California it won’t matter electorally
maybe not for presidential, but these things still matter for houses and senate races for example (moreso house races for your California example). If sufficient numbers of independents in California shift based on this, that could determine the size and strength of a republican house majority which as we have seen this term can matter massively with regards to shutdowns debt ceilings and speaker removals
An abortion initiative on the ballot may bring young people to the polls who are not excited about either main party presidential candidate

The turnout issue you are missing is young voters with Gaza as a big issue. I suspect some would stay at home in protest but abortion on the ballot will bring them out. The key question is how many of them are there.
Hopefully they realize that “Gaza”, although an important issue, is not as immediately relevant to their lives the way the abortion issue is.
Young voters staying home over Gaza and allowing Trump, Netanyahu's best ally, become president would be the most idiotic move since they stayed home in 2016 and allowed Roe vs Wade be overturned.
