Hi Miss Dani! The titles of Miss Charity and Tourism are different than that of a runner-up in the sense that charity work and tourism promotion are the two other prominent responsibilities of a Miss Universe Philippines winner aside from preparing for the Miss Universe pageant. To lessen the heavy work of the Miss Universe Philippines, the MUPh organization select two ladies to for the titles Miss Charity and Tourism in order to assist and take the place of Miss Universe Philippines in certain events in relation to their title. That way, the Miss Universe Philippines gets to focus more in training and preparing for the main battle at Miss Universe. Both Miss Charity and Tourism will be signed with MUPh organization for a year, therefore they won't be able to join MUPh and other pageant until their finish their contractual obligations.

As of yesterday, Celeste Cortesi was in Davao visiting the patients in Tebow Cure Hospital, a hospital named after the family of Demi Leigh-Tebow's husband, Tim Tebow, an American football player, who was born in the Philippines when his parents were doing missionary work for their church in the country.
Celeste need not do elaborate wordplay Her use of simple words makes her relatable and authentic. Soon as she speaks, she has this power that draws you in and makes you listen to her more. And I think that makes her Q and A performance standout from the rest. Simplicity. Relatability. Authenticity.
@@rbrb7129 Bohol is good in q and a but fyi we were back in telemundo era and commskills is not a big deal on to that era just look at janick and adline these girls was the sure last 2 standing after they gave an impactful answers than andrea but since its telemundo era they are more focused on the strong stage presence which was andrea has. If Bohol won muph she'd probably be the next Anchilee, she's lamonera ng mic but not consistently performing from the rest of mu categories honestly speaking

It's amazing to see the criticism of Pasay's so-called communication skills. When she receives a rousing applause after her answers, you know that her responses have resonated with people. The sincerity, warmth, connection, and strong content make her communication style very strong. Pasay is a deserving winner.

Celeste's gorgeous face killed the competition. Her walk and Q&A were simply icing on the cake. I can't wait to see her outshine the other MU candidates...with a face like hers, I'm sure whatever OOTD she wears, she will rock it. Hi Dani. Thanks for always supporting our girls in the Philippines. Although Michelle was my favorite, I think Pasay exuded the Miss Universe aura during the prelims and the finals. She deserves the crown. As for the "wings" worn by the contestants in the opening segment, the form reminds me of the tail of a Sarimanok, a mythical Philippine bird from the Maranao tribe of Mindanao. While the colors echo the sails of the Vinta fishing boats, also in Mindanao. More power to you and your channel! Love from Manila!
Queen! I agree, Bohol became my sentimental favorite after the final Q&A but I definitely agree with Pasay being the eventual winner because she's consistent and the most well rounded candidate. OMG, just repeated what you said Dani. 😅
3 of my favorites made it to the top 5: Pasay, Misamis Oriental and Bohol. I thought that Bohol was going to win for that answer but really happy for the winner she is pretty.
Growing up in the Philippines , this kind of show is usually long , in the old days Binibining Pilipinas would start from 7PM to 1am sometimes 2am the following day .

So depending on which you're more acquainted to, years are split into 10 years, some will say the 90s decade is from 1991-2000 but I prefer saying 1990-1999 as the 90s decade. After that was the 2000s up to 2009, then the 2010s up to 2019, and right now we are in the 20s from 2020 to 2029. In this decade only Mexico and India have won, and of Celeste wins it will be the Philippines' first crow of the 20s decade. Hope its clearer now 😊

Taguig is just so stunningly beautiful. My pic all along was Pasay. Makati was very gracious in her loss. The show was too long, and that American Idol singer was awful! But what a treat to see so many queens on stage.
Well some comments during the live bash the MU ORG. because they said that Why would they always cover or featured MUPH pagent? Dah! Bitter....Why don't they level up their pagent competition too in order for their country to featured of cover by MU ORG...Just saying...MUPH did a job well done...Leveling up...

They just embraced the fun and World Class production so it is fine to have a long production. Also they have special guests MU winners and viewers must be satisfied aswell
As I expected Pasay & Taguig would be the best looking & best performer in the finals! But the biggest surprise to me is Cebu Province in the evening gown! CP'sPecson was "perfection" in the gown segment for me! But you're right Dani when you said Pasay reminded you of Thailand's Obdam & Pasay can duplicate her success in MUP!
Thanks, yet again, for providing what I and many others believe to be the most objective and clear analyses of pageantry available online and for sharing with us your wealth of knowledge and insights on the dynamics and logistics to consider when reviewing pageants, contestants, and judges. One thing that bothers me about MUP this year was the advocacies seemed to have little or no importance in the live finale or Q&A. The pageant seemed to privilege self achievements over humanitarian ones to improve the universe. This became apparent when Bea mentioned her joint project with Haarnaz to help normalize women's health conversations globally. Just wondering if you knew why in this sense the pageant was more surface this year. None of the questions were really that interesting, and i really wish for the same final question for finalists. Anyway, congrats to you, and bravo for all the work it takes to do what you do and to do it well. You truly deserve a crown, at the very least.
If MUPH 2022 Miss Celeste’s could be as natural and authentic just like her MUPH performance then bringing it to MU She has the best chance to win the title !!! Very simple and you can really felt her presence !!!.
I feel like since taguig has been a favorite since day 1, people wasnt able to notice how bad her interview performance was and that some queens could easily grab that spot from her. But alas, she got into top 5. I just hope the girls who performed so much this year will join again next year, like cebu city. I just love her so much. She’s beautiful inside and out.
I definitely agree with your thoughts to Ms. Palawan she was too focus on the judges that might affect her placement in the Top 10. She was way better on her prelims performance tbh.

Hi Dani, not sure if this will be of interest to you or if u already got wind of this info but the reason why pageants are a "thing" here is due to the Philippines' long history with beauty pageants. The very first Ms Philippines was Pura Villanueva of Iloilo City in 1908. She would eventually become the first Miss Manila Carnival Queen where she beat the rep from USA. Since the country was a colony of the US at the time, the title was shared between the two of them to somehow appease Ms USA. Pura's advocacy was woman power - 2 years before that in 1906 she launched the Feminist Movement of Iloilo & became a journalist pushing this advocacy. She later spearheaded the Suffragist movement in the Philippines for which she was honored the presidential medal of honor in 1950 by then President Quirino whose daughter Cory Quirino was the former pageant director of Ms World Philippines. Pura's daughter Maria also became Ms Philippines and the Carnival Queen in 1934.

Hi Dani, not sure if this will be of interest to you or if u already got wind of this info but the reason why pageants are a "thing" here is due to the Philippines' long history with beauty pageants. The very first Ms Philippines was Pura Villanueva of Iloilo City in 1908. She would eventually become the first Miss Manila Carnival Queen where she beat the rep from USA. Since the country was a colony of the US at the time, the title was shared between the two of them to somehow appease Ms USA. Pura's advocacy was woman power - 2 years before that in 1906 she launched the Feminist Movement of Iloilo & became a journalist pushing this advocacy. She later spearheaded the Suffragist movement in the Philippines for which she was honored the presidential medal of honor in 1950 by then President Quirino whose daughter Cory Quirino was the former pageant director of Ms World Philippines. Pura's daughter Maria also became Ms Philippines and the Carnival Queen in 1934.
